On 11/01/09 I Reggie Herring was phoned by one of U-Hauls representatives during their closing hours informing me that I may have water damages to my storage. Monday November 02, 2009 I drove to the u-haul facility, and yes there was water damages to both of my storage bends. The manager Ron Haynes said that all u-haul can do is give me another bend, and Novembers month rent free. I told the manager Ron that I have insurance on my storage. Ron then sent a female to escort me to my bends photo my soaked merchandise, and then he gave me a claims number. Ron, stated that he had a opening on a 10'X10' bend available Tuesday, and that he would give me a call tomorrow afternoon. I called 11/03 -11/04 a employee at u-haul said that he wasn't there at the times. I ended up driving to u-haul to find him sitting there just not taken calls at that moment I assume. Ron said that he was about to call me back because the renter had not finished moving his contents out of the bend. I asked Ron about the other u-hauls around the areas he said that they had vacancies now. Also Ron said that he has one available now that will be ready in a few minutes. I waited out the time went to my bends, and started packing my property for the move. I walked into the new building seen fans blowing on both ends, and moisture on the floor. I opened the hatch to the vacant bend my eyes burned, and nearly pasted out from bleach fumes. I closed the door back then headed towards the office, but before I could get out of the building good another renter griping opened his storage door (FLOODED) water still sitting in the bend. I inform the manager Ron that that building had taken in more water then my previous one, and that someone had attempted to cover up mold, and mildew with a strong scent of bleach. Ron, got heated, sarcastic, and rood saying that if I don't want the bend I can take my stuff, and business elsewhere. Ron also state that they did repair to to building, when I asked can he tell me what repair was done other then pouring bleach to kill bacterial he got hot again. I wasn't going to get into a ### session with this man over his management practices. I definitely wasn't going to lower my standards in front of him so I said that he can talk to my lawyer. Now for the low blow of it all U-Haul storage is now trying to charge me compiled late fees, and storage wages after they refused my payment 11/02 thru 11/05. Management (Ron) said that u-hauls not taken payments from anyone for the Month of November who had damages to their person property due to rain not draining off their lots.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Reggie,
That is a nerve racking experience. But instead of getting upset, just submit a bill to them
for your damages. If you don't get a response or they refuse,
take them to small claims court (or file an action if the dollar amount is much higher).
Get all your paperwork together.
There is no way you can lose.
Good luck
