Capital meats, where do i start? We made the mistake of buying last year, horrible quality, i mean horrible. Today, i see a man, did'nt get his name, an endomorphic bald man working for capital meats, knocking door to door, trying to get my neighbors to buy. My neighbor, who takes care of his sick parents letting them live with him declines to buy meat. The endomorphic man, starts screaming at my neighbor insisting on talking to his sick parents to try and con them as well. Once again my neighbor declines respectfully, this guys is having a fit over this. I am sitting on my step three houses away, i am watching the whole thing! Then he starts cursing at my neighbor, f* this f$#@ that well that was it for me i said sir, stop harassing my neighbor. Then he begins to scream at me with rage (Personally i think this man was on cocaine) . My husband comes out and hears everything he was saying as soon as he seen my very tall husband ran to his truck and sped off. I tell you, you would have to be a fool to actually buy there meat. There are so many more places in baltimore to buy quality meat at a much better price.

Capital Meats - selling practices
The Maryland/DC Better Business Bureau rates this company as an "F".
A salesman from Capital Meats approached me in my driveway with a hard sell on the meats. I politely declined numerous times. As he returned to his truck he yelled an insulting remark, to the other person in the truck "You were right about the people in this neighborhood", then got into the van and sped off at a very high rate of speed up our residential street. What type of professional salesman insults his potential customers? It would not matter how good the meat was, I would not buy from this company and will make sure everyone I know is aware of this.

How would they like it if it was their mother or grandmother who got scammed. I always try to give the elderly especially good deals as they are on a fixed income. Once again all salesmen and wemon aren't alike. God Bless
A salesman from Capital Meats just scammed an elderly couple, one with Alzheimers, out of $900.00. The meats were spoiled and he convinced them to make the check out to him instead of the company.

I have an interview tomorrow I thought it was just driving.
Thankyou for the heads up before I wasted my gas to go see them. I found the add under a section that implied it was a regular job. Why do they have to trick people if its so good. I am sort of pissed but glad i googled them. They are leeches.
I have personally worked for Capital Meats and have been in the industry for 5 years. You don't pay for the product until you sell it, the truck charge is to cover insurance and vehicle maintenance. If you have a good product and are the qualified to do this kind of work, making money shouldn't be a problem. The price of meat is so outrageous in the grocery store you should be able to sell the product without gouging people and still make a decent living. I don't know where you applied at but it sound like your just making this up to put the company down. I currently don't work at Capital so this isn't a personal issue, just the truth.
I applied at capital meats as a driver from an ad on craigslist not knowing it was a door to door sales position. The interview was really just a sales pitch. I was told that employees have to pay $42.00 a day to rent the freezer truck, also have to pay for their own gas and have to outright pay up front for the product they will be trying to sell. What the employee doesnt sell is not refunded and a percentage of what they do sell is given to them as their earnings for that day. I personally dont see how someone can afford to pay hundreds of dollars a day just to work for a company and how that company can believe that many people would want to work for a company like that anyway.
I had one who would not get off my doorstep yesterday. I was home by myself, the guy was shady, physically large, and extremely aggressive. He became irate when I would not open the door and yelled at me. I told him he was trespassing. He continued yelling at me, telling me I should buy his meats. It was the craziest, worst experience. I had to tell him he had one minute to get out of my doorway (he actually kept his foot on the stoop the whole time) or I'd call 911. It was actually scary and disturbing.
