On 14 feb a tech from len the plumber arrived to clear a blocked sewer drain he worked, indicated the drain was clear and later that night the drain was still blocked and sewage over flowed again. Called len and they indicated the $862 I paid was for a best effort and for another $800 they would be willing to try again. Called roto rooter on 15 feb who cleared the drain.
Desired outcome: Refund
Len The Plumber - Plumbing service cost
We were gouged $803 to clear a shower drain and install a new sink stopper. It took about 30 minutes total reflecting a $1600/hour rate. This was an outrageous cost! Shame on Len The Plumber for requiring their plumbers to upsell and overcharge. The plumber also offered to tighten a kitchen sink faucet assembly for "free." During the process he told my wife that there was rust coming out of the faucet and he could sell us a new one and install. The faucet was a $750 European faucet with no rustable components and only two years old! Amazing. We've had better plumbers from this company but they are expensive!

Len The Plumber - Work quality and billing
Beware of LTP deceptive billing practices and very low quality job!
On 01/12 I have contacted Len the plumber (LTP) to address 3 separate plumbing issues in my house.
1. Water was dripping from the ceiling and the valve needed to be installed in the bathroom upstairs. Not completed.
2. The toilet needed to be replaced in the bathroom downstairs with a new fixture that I provided. Not completed.
3. The outside garden hose bib needed to be replaced. Completed. Paid. ($589-$100=$489)
My actions:
An hour later after Technician 1 left I noticed that water is dripping from upstairs into the ceiling (#1). Downstairs the water was dripping on the floor from both sides of the toilet where the tank is attached and from the valve (#2).
I contacted Technician 1 and let him know on 01/12 around 7 pm.
I contacted by phone the service department next day, 01/13, explained everything and sent an email with pictures at 8.55 am. I stopped check payment in the amount of $1150 and bank charged me for that service $35.
Service department scheduled another technician to come and review the work.
He confirmed and acknowledged to me and to the service manager on duty that the work on #1 and #2 is not completed and saw that the water is dripping and the toilet is not installed properly. Overall he confirmed the poor quality of the Technician 1 work to me and to the service manager on duty. He inspected that the garden hose bib is installed correctly. In the presence of Technician 2 I discussed it with service manager on duty. We agreed that I will pay only for completed job - $489. Payment was submitted immediately. Technician 2 mentioned that he will need a separate order to completely redo the work of Technician 1 and that it may cost me more.
I decided not to proceed with LTP company due to the lousy, low quality job that was performed by Technician 1 and informed the customer service of my decision. I hired another company to complete the job. It cost me much less than LTP.
LTP sent me the letter requesting the payment for the work order that they did not complete and claiming that attaching a toilet tank to the bowl with no water dripping out of it (#2 of work order) is "100% outside of the scope of work that LTP had performed". Same applies to #1 in work order. Moreover, instead of subtracting $489 from total order of $1150 they added it making a total order of $1639.
LTP should discontinue all their claims and apologize for poor work quality.
LTP deceptive billing should stop?
