I went to the family dollar on 2/20/2023 around 2:30 in the afternoon. I was doing my shopping as I do on a daily. I spent around $85. I went to the checkout to pay for my food. I had a shopping cart on the North Side so I said let me take the cart and use it to bring my food home. So when I got done I went outside to put my food in this shopping cart and the cart was gone. So I went into the store and asked if someone took the cart that I was using, and that is when one of the employees came up to me and told me that she took. So I asked her if I can get the food back that I had already in the cart. I had gone to another store before I went to Family Dollar so I had about $100 worth of food and $10 worth of pop bottles. The employee told me that I was not getting [censored] back, and those were her exact words. So I asked her what was her name and she told me that it was not my business what her name was and then she started calling me [censored]es, and she even told me to kiss her [censored] and if I don't like it then I can go to hell. So I asked her where was the stuff that I had in the cart and she told me that she through it all in the garbage can and that if I want it then I'm going to have to dig in the trash to get it. Then she had the nerve to throw the food that I brought out of Family Dollar in the street and told me that I was nothing but a [censored]r and a [censored] picks their own [censored] out of the street. I just couldn't believe all the words that she called me and how I was treated. Even to this day I still don't know her name. I know one thing and that is a person with that kind of mouth and attitude doesn't need to be working at a store with the public. Then the language that she uses is very inappropriate. when I got home I called Family Dollar and talked to the manager she even had the nerve to tell me that I must have said something that made her mad for her to talk to me like that and then she said that she can't believe that any of her employees will talk to the customers like that. So I asked her to play the tape back and it will show and say a word for word what was said and it will show what garbage can she through my stuff in. I also have to say this. I have seen a bunch of employees have their family and friends come in the store and steal for them and take the stuff to the employee's car and then they pay them for all of the stuff that they stole for them. That is why there is never anything on the shelf because they let any and everybody come in the store and steal what they want and as long as they get something they don't and won't call the police or even the manager and the manager is just as bad as her employees when it comes to stealing things from the store. I don't think that it is right for them to be stealing from us and we spend the hard earn money that we work for and then they come in and take whatever they want. I think that something needs to be done about this Family Dollar on North Park Street in Kalamazoo Michigan 49007. I hate to say and do this but I did have to get my lawyer involved with this case because it is very disrespectful and something needs to be done about some of the employees at this store I'm not going to stop until something gets done about this situation even if it comes down to the young lady getting fired for treating people like they are a piece of [censored] and that is not right. I know that I'm not the first person that she has talked to like that before. I just feel people are scared to stand up and speak the truth. It means a lot to me to know that I have a voice and it is time for people such as myself needs to speak out and not let people treat them like they are nothing and that is for real. Desired outcome: First I would like to know the young lady's name and have her give me a sincere apology and if she doesn't like it then she needs to be fired.
I know for a fact that the employees are very rude and they treat and talk to you like you are not even there. That is why I can't understand how a lot of the employees are still working there. What the company should do is send someone into the store like they are just shopping and they can see how rude and disrespectful they are and that the don't need a job at that store.
Family Dollar - My name is Jenny Lynn Smith and this is about one of your employess treating me like i was a piece of [censored] and that was real rude.
Let me start off by saying my name is Jenny Lynn Smith. I have been going to Family Dollar ever since it has been there. When I got done shopping with my food. I was trying to get the cart out of the store to put my bags in the car and the next thing I knew was that she started throwing my bags on the ground outside and that did not want even to try to help me with my bags. I had $5.00 worth of bottles in the shopping cart, plus I had my winter gloves in the cart and she throw them in the trash can when I asked her about my bottles and the gloves she told me that she threw them in the trash can. I asked her why did she do that and she told me that she didn't give a damn why she threw them in the trash. She even told me that she would do it again and if I wanted them then I would have to go in the trash can and get them myself. She even called me a [censored], hoe, slut, and any other kind of name that came out of her mouth, She wouldn't even give me her name. I was so mad at her that I wanted to call the police, but I didn't. When I got home I called family dollar and talked to the manager and she even told me that her employees wouldn't talk to anybody like that. I also have to let you know that they are having their friends and family come into the store and be stealing all the stuff that they need and want. Then when they get done stealing the stuff the customers go to the employee's car and the employee pays for the stuff that their friends stole for them. I know that the store needs some more employees that are trustworthy and do not worry about stealing any and everything. That is why there is nothing on the shelves and in the freezer and something needs to be stopped as soon as possible. I hate to send this email, but I know that if something doesn't be done soon people will be picking back and forth and it will be Mother of Hope. I just hate to be called a [censored], hoe, and other words. I would like for you to get back in touch with me as soon as possible. Here is all of my information just in case you need to get back in touch with me. I hate to repeat this again, however, please do something about what is going on with this store. I know that this store has been around for a long time and I hate to see it go but we need to do something about all of the stealing that is going on. All of the employees call the customers [censored]es, hoes, and all of the other names that they can come up with.
