I went to Biolife in Maple Grove MN and wasted 1-1/2 hours going through the sign up process to find out I was not eligible. I was informed because I have a mild case of Ulcerative Colitis I could not donate. I was then told I could have surgery and not have to be on pills and then donate. Surgery for this could cause me to have to have a colostomy bag for the rest of my life. I was then told I had to say I miss marked my application and she took it upon her self to mark I have HIV which I do not have. I told her I do not have HIV and she insisted the form had to be marked this way. HIV and Ulcerative Colitis are not the same thing. I have never been so offended and mad in my entire life. I do not think it is right your employees should be giving medical advice and marking diseases in which I do not have. I should have never had to sit and go through all this especially when I came prepared as requested and tried to hand over my list of medications right away. I should have been able to donate and should have been compensated for my time and not been given medical advice from someone who obviously has no idea what they are talking about and should not have had to have my information marked as having HIV. I will consider perusing this if I am not apologized to and compensated. It is imaginable to me that you would allow your employees to treat someone this way. It is also ridiculous that I cannot donate and if that's the case should have been told this immediately when checking in based on my medications.
Desired outcome: I want to be compensated and receive an apology

BioLife Plasma Services - Compensation
I found a coupon online for $300 in five donations. I presented it to the front desk staff, who instructed me present it to the screener. After doing so I was told they would honor it, however they did not. When I called the center I was informed that they would not be honoring the coupon. At which point I talked to a supervisor who also refused to honor the promotional code. Stating that it was a new donor promotion although it did not stay on the coupon that it was for a new donor and was valid through the end of March. She also tried to state that it was for a Colorado Center although again there was no specific location listed on the coupon. If staff at the center says that they will honor a coupon or promotional code I feel that is what should be done not brushing it under the rug and refusing to accommodate the donor.
Desired outcome: Unpaid compensation
