In February of this year, I made the huge mistake of retaining this crooked, so-called "law firm" to represent me in a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy. At our very first meeting, I explained to this "lawyer" the fact that I intended to pursue litigation against the lienholder of my car for damages caused to my car and property during a repossession that had occurred in January. Since my car would be listed in the Bankruptcy Petition one of my major assets, I naturally assumed that my bankruptcy attorney would represent my interests in any litigation concerning the car. Boy, was I ever in store for a "rude awakening". The bankruptcy paperwork was finalized on March 9th. Conspicuously, that very same day, the lienholder came and repossessed the car again. Now, this time I was under a Bankruptcy Order, which provides for an "automatic stay" on any such repossessions. So I immediately informed my attorney. Instead of contacting the lienholder and informing them of this fact and getting my car released and returned to me, this sorry lawyer did absolutely NOTHING. I had to end up paying the lienholder $500.00 to get the car back. In hindsight, this should have been my first "red flag"; that perhaps this attorney was not the right choice for me. I continued however, to retain him. Almost immediately, this lawyer began insisting that I start making monthly payments of $762.00, supposedly toward the bankruptcy. Now, the bankruptcy wasn't finalized until June, and this was still March. Despite my trepidation and misgivings, I did as he said and started making these monthly "payments", my first being in April. I continued to make these payments through August. In September, I became increasingly suspicious of this whole bankruptcy, chiefly due to the fact that I had received no receipts for the money that I had been sending in monthly, nor had I gotten any kind of breakdown whatsoever of just how my money was being disbursed to my creditors. I had finally had enough and decided to terminate the bankruptcy. The bankruptcy dismissal was finalized on September 24th. The very next day, I called this lawyer's office to find out just how had my money been disbursed to my creditors, as it was my intention to contact the creditors and see if I could just continue to pay them at the same rate and amount that I thought they had been receiving during the bankruptcy. To my everlasting shock, horror, and eternal disgust, this crooked lawyer informed me that NOT ONE CENT of my money had gone to my creditors. This shyster then told me that ALL of the money that I had been dutifully sending in since April, would be going to pay "attorney's fees"; in other words, to line HIS damn pockets! Now folks, at that point I went "ballistic". I'm not going to repeat just what I said out of decency to this website but I'm sure that anyone put into a position like this would have said pretty much the same thing. Just to illustrate however, what a dirty, rotten scoundrel this Orcutt truly is, on November 19th a hearing was held in bankruptcy court to decide the disposition of my money. Although this crook Orcutt didn't even show up, this lousy so-called "bankruptcy judge" awarded all my money to this shyster. Now, here comes the REAL shocker. As I turned to walk out of this "kangaroo court", I heard this judge say "stop him". I was immediately grabbed by two U.S. Marshalls and two local sheriffs. I was handcuffed and a piece of paper was shoved in my face. One of these marshalls then told me that I was under arrest for allegedly "communicating a threat" to this shyster Orcutt back in September. Can you believe this crap? Not only was this crooked piece of ### allowed to get ALL my money, this cowardly little weasel also tried to get me locked up. I was booked but then immediately released on my own recognisence. This trumped-up, so-called "charge" was of course designed to try and intimidate me into silence about what this slimeball lawyer had done to me. I will NEVER be silent though. I intend to fully expose this Orcutt for sleazy crook that he is. That, and the fact that I consider it my duty to warn others not to ever do any business with this ###, is the sole purpose of my telling this in this forum. You have been warned.
