In July 2008, my 2007 Nissan Murano started smoking when the engine was started. I took it to the local Nissan dealer (where I purchased the vehicle). They found "nothing wrong with it." In November 2007 I started hearing a rattling noise and took it back in. This time they said there was very moderate sluding in the motor. I was asked to provide receipts of my oil changes; I did so. My warranty was denied due to 'owner neglect' even though I had proof of my oil changes. I was told by the service manager that it COULD be a problem with the fact that there was no PCV valve put in the 2007 Muranos, but, it could have also been due to not changing the oil(knowing that I had already forwarded my receipts). Their easy way out was to just put the blame on me. I got my car back (after renting a car for over 3 wks and spending $500) and have driven it with no actual problems until 09-11-09 when it started 'vibrating' terribly. I took it to a service shop and got it back today. The PCV valve (the one that the Nissan service manager told me wasn't there) was broken and causing a problem with the oil flow to the motor. So, not only was I put off time and time again while my car was at the dealer, and had to foot the rental car bill, I've now had to pay a $200.00 service bill for something that was SUPPOSEDLY checked out by a Nissan professional. I think not. I will never buy another Nissan vehicle, and will advise my family and friends to follow suit. I will also be filing a complaint with other agencies accordingly.
