Why all HDMI cables are the same
Expensive HDMI cables are a rip-off and offer no difference in picture quality over cheap ones. So when a salesman Nick S tries to up-sell, politely tell him he's wrong and move on with the sale.
There's lots of money in cables. Your money.
Dozens of reputable and disreputable companies market HDMI cables, and many outright lie to consumers about the "advantages" of their product.
Worse, the profit potential of cables is so great, every retailer pushes high-end HDMI cables in the hopes of duping the buyer into spending tens, if not hundreds, of dollars more than necessary.
Here's the deal: expensive HDMI cables offer no difference in picture quality over cheap HDMI cables. CNET has mentioned this before, but here's the science of why.
The signal
The first thing to understand is what's transmitted over the cable in the first place. HDMI uses Transition Minimized Differential Signaling, or TMDS.
TMDS has two basic aspects. The first is that the 1s and 0s at the source (a Blu-ray player or HD cable/satellite box) are not exactly the 1s and 0s your TV uses to create a picture--at least, not in exactly the same order. Before sending the signal out via the HDMI output, the 1s and 0s are rearranged to minimize how many transitions there are. So instead of [protected], the transmission may look like [protected]. If you really like math, how it does this is cool, but it's not really important to understanding the concept as a whole.

Even though this conversion is weird, it makes it much more likely the data transmitted can be rebuilt on the other end (as in, at the display).
The second part of TMDS (the DS part) is the HDMI cable itself. Each HDMI cable is actually multiple, small copper wires. Two versions of the data are sent over different wires. One of these is out of phase with the "real" signal. The TV receives all the data, puts the out-of-phase signal back in phase, then compares it to the "real" signal. Any noise picked up along the way will now be out of phase, and as such it is effectively negated and ignored.

I paid out a lot of money for a 55 inch TV with an extended warranty.Called to get it repaired and they pass me from one area to another to another.
Then a part is on order for an undetermined amount of time?. What does undetermined amount of time mean? My TV never gets fixed". This is the first time we purchased from P C Richard & Son in Paramus and this is not a good returning experience!.

That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard and I will never purchase anything from them again.. I am warning any consumer they are horrible! And they are not very customer friendly at all they lack any type of empathy!. And transfer me back and forth due to the fact they want to blame the store or the ins..

not saving much $$ because i have to wash my clothes several times. Let them know we are not happy and they say call this #. Yeah good idea ! WAIT another month for someone to come out.

They attempted to deliver on Saturday, June 2nd in which the delivery guy cut the electrical cord when removing from packaging and took back to P C Richard & Son.
Next Delivery was on Monday, June 4th in which refrigerator was delivered without any problems. 24 hrs later, there was water on the floor and the ice in freezer was completely gone. Everything in refrigerator warm. Called P C Richard & Son on Tuesday to let them know that food in frig was warm and freezer not freezing.
Told to wait 48 hrs before they would send anyone. I told them to come because it is not cold at all and it has been a full 24 hrs. Sent a technician to investigate on Wednesday, only to find out that there was no freon and that is why it was not working. Had new refrigerator delivered on Thursday and was told to figure out what we lost in food.
Told her to get the refrigerator out of my house, to come get it! Now we will have no refrigerator or a refund of the items we lost due to refrigerator not working. I will never purchase at P C Richard & Son or purchase a GE item again!
Also, at first they were only crediting for the refrigerator, I called back and stated I want the delivery charge & a receipt showing the full amount credited from my charge card.They stated that we could get a receipt for the credit after the pickup has been completed but would have to go to P C Richard & Son to get it.

PC Richard & Son - i think there is something wrong with my machine, but no one will listen.
i purchased a top loading HE machine with an agitator at the bottom from P C Richard & Son I was told by Ola it was the best of both worlds .
A regular machine or a HE machine. i can't use bleach w/the low water . i have diluted it, tried other disinfectants, the machine smells. i am extra rinsing all my stuff.
How is that saving water?. i have tried to contact the company each time someone says they will get back with me. i purchased my machine 12/6/12 and i called the warranty company to find out if they could help me..no luck. i have tied dyed most of my towels and the downey ball opens 1 out of three times.
They said call the downey company. adding downey on my own leaves blue stain even when i dilute it.
I think there is something wrong with my machine, but no one will listen.i am pissed

I purchased a 60" Sharp TV just before the superbowl this year and just this past week the tv has been getting dark shadows and progressively getting worse. I contacted Sharp directly and they were friendly and gave me a return authorization number from P C Richard & Son . I was told to contact P C Richard & Son before returning the item. I did and that's when this all went downhill. I talked with the "customer service rep.
Yeah, I have enough money to buy 10 TV's at 1300 dollars a piece...numb nuts. This place is terrible! I'll pay more money for customer service from now on.
WalMart has better service and that is pretty sad.Please boycott this company.

Get in touch with the corporate HQ in Farmingdale and ask for the TV buyer directly. He can acknowledge the RA. Even if you get an answering machine, action will follow. Otherwise, go to the store and ask for DM Jack Guarino's number and email.

I had purchased an LG refrigerator and when the driver noticed the space for the fridge seemed smaller the the refrigerator and didn't even bring it in the house, told me to go to P C Richard & Son and tell them, first they tried to sell me another refrigerator, then called me up and told me they were going to redeliver the 1st one I had ordered, I checked on-line and noticed it is a discontinued one and they just want to get rid of it. They better return my money and not dance around me and try to force me to take it because I won't, I'll call the head of the company. They put out this front of being nice but once the sale is made, forget

Very poor customer service after the sale. They require full payment up front on purchases. Install was a nightmare with multiple reschedules required and damage to my kitchen cabinet. I now have to stain, cut and install trim to cover the damage. Their installer bad mouths the company. I purchased 2 items: an Electrolux wall oven which remains in my home after waiting 2 months to get it delivered and installed with multiple reschedules, and a kitchen aid dishwasher that I cancelled after being mislead and after 3 install reschedules. I was told by the salesman that the dishwasher was in stock and could be installed withing a few days; in fact the dishwasher after 3 install reschedules was never actually in the store. In stock does not mean in the store; it means in a warehouse state's away. Local management will say they are sorry; corporate are polite but no action. I would never purchase there with P C Richard & Son in Paramus again.

I purchased a microwave from P C Richard & Son in Paramus, Nov 2011 it stopped working July 2012. The manufacturer told me to take the unit back to the store. The store had no more units left the microwave was original $189 so they say, I paid $206. I wanted an even exchange the manager James was very rude I end up paying an extra $38 for a microwave I didn't want. His tone of voice an attitude was very unprofessional. He acted like he was doing me a favor when it was their merchandise that was defective. I will never shop at P C Richard & Son in Paramus again or recommend them to anyone else.

The sales people in P C Richard & Son in Paramus are completely racist. I went there with my son and husband with the intention of buying a char-broil/gas grill and a Nikon Digital camera with a 18-105 mm Zoom lens. No one approach us to ask if we needed assistance, I figured because we are black. As I was looking at the cameras I notice every white or Hispanic person that walks in, a sales person would run to ask them if they need help. We didnt get the same treatment. It's sad businesses still treat blacks like this. We decided to leave. I would never recommend this P C Richard & Son in Paramus.
P.s we went with the intention of spending a maximum of $2, 000. Never judge a book by its cover!

PC Richard & Son - Where we were informed by corporate that it would take 1-3 days to for them tofile the swap claim,
P C Richard & Son has poor customer service when you are purchasing. The problem lies when there is an actual problem with one of their products. Then the customer service is lacking, to say the least. After spending around $2500 on a refrigerator, 4 months later it was completely dead. P C Richard & Son simply said contact LG, which I understand they aren't the manufacturer. After 2 weeks of problems with LG they finally decided it needed replaced.
This put us back in the hands of P C Richard & Son. Where we were informed by corporate that it would take 1-3 days to for them tofile the swap claim, and then another few days to deliver the refrigerator. So after 2 weeks with no fridge, we are now going to have 3-4 weeks. Simply because P C Richard & Son does not stand behind the products they sell.
There is no reason why I shouldn't be able to go to the local store, give them the paperwork from LG authorizing the swap and having everything completed and a new fridge installed in 48 hours. Other stores in the area do exactly this if there is a problem with an Appliance. I will never purchase another item from P C Richard & Son. If you can't support your customers in the purchase and in the service, then there is no need for you to get my business or anyone's business that I know.
I hope others learn from my lesson and spend there money with businesses that truly back the products they sell.

PC Richard & Son - So disapointed and tired of getting the run-around.
We bought an LG refrigerator 14 months ago. November 21, 2012, the refrigerator totally stopped working. A repairman came on Saturday, November 24, 2012 told us that the coils were burned out and the compressor was leaking. The repairman told us that he would order parts and would be back to fix it on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. The parts did not come and I learned that they were on backorder from overseas. They set up another appointment with us on Thursday, November 29th but the parts did not come in. Finally on November 30th the parts were delivered. We have a 5 yr warranty on the refrigerator. Now after spending numerous hours on the telephone trying to get a repairman to fix the refrigerator, they cannot come out to our home until December 10th. I found myself being transferred around to different areas and noone could assist us in getting our refrigerator fixed before Dec 10th. If I had known that P C Richard & Son in Paramus gave such poor customer service I would have never bought my appliance from them, let alone buy a warranty. So disapointed and tired of getting the run-around. Everyone who took my calls said they were so sorry for the inconvenience - give me a break.

AWFUL! I am absolutely furious at the "customer service" I have received. I ordered a $2500 stove and $600 microwave on February 18th. I was supposed to receive my order on February . No call was received. When my product didn't show up, I called and was told it had been pushed back a week, I ended up receiving the microwave on the March (3 weeks later). My stove arrived damaged and they offered $75 for me to take it. I didn't pay $2500 for a damaged stove, so I sent it back. I again was supposed to receive my new stove March 17. Again no call. I called the store and they said they didn't have my stove and didn't know when it would arrive. I had to cancel my stove order because it was going to take another 2 weeks/.
My stove was a special order from Electrolux but nothing takes a month and a half, . I even called Electrolux directly and there is no shortage of the stoves.. I haven't had a stove in over a month and have already made 2 payments for something I don't have?. My salesman George, did not communicate at all|. I called everyday and he could care less?. I am now fighting with the Paramus store to give me back my money for the stove and they told me it could take a few days:. It has been 5 already. I will never shop there again. I was excited by the beautiful look of the store but am disgusted at the lack of regard for my happiness and time. Bad impression all around. Don't shop here

I will never grace the doors of that establishment ever again and will advise everyone I know to never do business with them. Bought a Stove and Refrig and both were defective immediately after delivery. The refrig was also dented. the refrig almost burned my house down with the ice machine motor burnt up. The oven door jammed shut and could not get the food out. Can't get anyone to return my calls. Manager is rude. Was a disaster from the the delivery on. THE WORST SERVICE EVER!...

PC Richard & Son - I called p c richard & son who refuses to accept a return after 30 days with the original box.
I had a good experience in the beginning the problem came after the sale when an issue arose. I bought a Fridge, Stove, Washer and Dryer for a rental property that I was rehabbing. I finished the unit about a month later and plugged in the brand new fridge and it didn't work. I understand these things happen. I called in to get a service tech out and one came three days later to say the motor was bad and it was unrepairable. The service company P C Richard & Son have been useless since that point|. They said I need a 'return authorization' from the manufacturer and I should hear back within 48 hours?. That was 4 days ago with me calling everyday and getting the run around;. So it has been well over a week without a fridge;. I called P C Richard & Son who refuses to accept a return after 30 days with the original box (which the delivery people removed and threw away)|. HORRIBLE customer service after the sale even though it obviously never worked.. I have numerous investment properties and will never buy here again:. Their prices are very competitive but the after sale service is not worth saving $50.

It's been almost two weeks and they keep delaying their delivery date saying that "it is not a priority to them".
They are extremely rude on the phone and my stubborn landlord refuses to get a refund, hoping they would come soon.I have lost all my food, been wasting time at home waiting and have had to eat out every night.
Your issue is with the manufacturer, not PC Richards. It's not their fault you went past the return period. That was your decision. Grown ups are responsible and don't cry about their poor choices.

I was quoted 1, 000.00. After work I spoke with the sales manager James and he informed the following.
“The salesman is not here and I WILL not sell you the TV at that price”
I explained that I was not lying and that the original salesman did in fact offer me the price.
After a heated conversation I contacted anotherP C Richard & Son
and was offered the television at the Price 1, 000.00.
I contacted Paramus P C Richard & Son
and they acquiesced. That is when I requested a discount for my troubles.
NOPE.. I will never shop at Paramus P C Richard & Son again.
