Paid 49.99 for a protection plan. It was told by the salesperson that it would cover repairs or replacement no matter what. I explained I used my printer a lot and have had to replace a few. He said protection was a good option for me "even if I dropped it on the floor" I'd get a new printer. Oddly enough something did fall on top of the printer I bought and cracked the glass. I called Staples numerous times and they put me on hold, transferred my call or hung up on me. Finally called a "manager" who seemed very clueless but told me I had to go online or call Asurion because that is where the plan was through. Online process was a nightmare. Finally got through to someone on the chat. Showed them my receipt. They said that kind of damage was not covered. So I am out over $300 for a printer and $49.99 for a useless protection plan.
Desired outcome: refund of protection plan and replacement for the broken glass
