The date stated, I went to the Midas repair shop in Middletown, NY on Rte. 211. I know all of the mechanics and the management. I went there to see one of the mechanics when this one mechanic started yelling and screaming at me say to get my car out of here. Then he said that the district manager said he was to notify him whenever I show up here. I personally know the district manager. Then he started yelling at me in front of customers. I pointed out he embarrassed me in front of the public. He said I don't care. So, I said to him, he needs to watch out. He took that as a threat and challenged me to a fight. I went outside, he rolled up his sleeves and said, "Come On". The manager on duty did absolutely nothing. I've been going to the Middletown Midas for nearly 10 years. I've never been treated like that. This 1 mechanic was being aggressive and verbally abusive. I'm an African American. This man is Caucasian. It's obvious that the man is a racist. He was literally over the top. You need to look into this and take the necessary action. Because his actions were a disgrace to Midas.

I stopped in the Midas shop in Middletown, NY to have them check my driver's side front tire. It was discovered that a screw had imbedded in it causing a leak. I asked if they could fix it and they said yes. I asked how long it was going to be before they can do it (the time was 10:15 am) since I had an appointment and they said just a few minutes. After 40 minutes they finally got my car in, which at that point I missed my appointment. While they had my car on the lift, I said let me take care of the bill. When the guy said to me it was $26.99 plus tax, I said you're kidding me. You just had to put a plug in the tire, what are you charging me for, his reply was labor. Labor, you had me wait for 40 minutes, and then 5 minutes to plug my tire, and you're charging me 26.99 plus tax. I stated that if Tire Discount was open which was 2 doors down, they fix tires for free, and other shop charges around 7-10 dollars. I then looked on your web site and for tire repair, it states that you charge 10 to 20 dollars depending on the repair, where did 26.99 plus tax ($29.18) come from. He stated labor, labor I said, what labor.

I feel that this shop ripped me off, took advantage of me, and I am writing to report them and requesting a full refund because this shop overcharged for something that should be around $5.00. The total cost for this with tax came to $29.18. That is so wrong, and I am also going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. If I ever needed any kind of service that Midas could accommodate me, I would not use any of the Midas shops if they are like this one. I am very disappointed in the service that Midas can offer knowing that they look to overcharge and try to tell you other things about your vehicle just to get you to have them repair it. I called your complaint department and gave my report. Case # 4207344, I was told someone would reach out to me. I never in my life paid around $30.00 for a plug-in a tire. Shame on them!
