I had an appointment on June 27, 2020 for a hearing test at Hearing Life in Oswego, NY. After being taken into an office by a young lady and answering a few questions about my hearing, I asked the young lady if she was an audiologist. She became very defensive and hostile, told me that she wasn't an audiologist but had received 6 years of training, and that if I wanted to be tested by an audiologist I had to make another appointment. I asked her what her position was and her answer was something like hearing aid specialist. Those weren't her exact words; I don't remember exactly what she said. She ushered me out of the small office and into the reception area. When I said that since I was already there I'd like to proceed with the test, she refused to do it. She went on a rant about her credentials being as good as an audiologist. I said I didn't know that I had to specifically request an appointment with an audiologist for the hearing test and again requested to proceed with the test. The young lady said no, to make another appointment, and walked away. I felt that I was treated very rudely for asking a simple question.
Desired outcome: The employee needs training in how to interact with customers without being rude and defensive, and not turning customers away. Honestly, I don't care what happens because I will never return to Hearing Life after being treated so rudely.
