Cleveland Clinic - Complaint regarding inappropriate nurse Christina at Hillcrest hospital ob/gyn

I am writing to bring to your attention a distressing incident that occurred during my recent visit to Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights. On July 29, 2023, I had the unfortunate experience of interacting with Nurse Christina, whose behavior was nothing short of rude, inappropriate, and utterly unprofessional.

The encounter took place during my stay at Hillcrest Hospital where I was admitted for first labor and delivery of my first child. From the moment Nurse Christina approached my bedside, it was evident that she lacked basic compassion and empathy toward me and my husband. She displayed a dismissive and condescending attitude, making me feel insignificant and unworthy of proper care.

Throughout her interactions with me, Nurse Christina spoke in a disrespectful tone, ignoring my questions and concerns. Her mannerisms were abrasive, and I felt belittled and humiliated during what was already a challenging time for me. Instead of providing support and reassurance, she seemed determined to make me feel inconvenienced.

Moreover, I was shocked and appalled by the inappropriate remarks Nurse Christina made during our interactions. She made derogatory comments about me and even resorted to making jokes that my husband overheard. Such behavior is not only unacceptable but deeply hurtful to patients who trust healthcare professionals with their well-being.

In addition to her unprofessional attitude, Nurse Christina also neglected her duties resulting in delayed administration of medication and inadequate monitoring of my labor. Her negligence jeopardized my health and safety, leaving me feeling vulnerable and anxious about the quality of care I was receiving.

As a patient, I firmly believe that every individual deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, especially in a healthcare setting. Nurse Christina's actions not only violated the principles of medical ethics but also compromised the reputation of Hillcrest Hospital as an institution dedicated to patient care.

I am writing this complaint with the hope that appropriate measures will be taken to address this issue promptly. It is crucial that you conduct a thorough investigation into Nurse Christina's conduct and take necessary disciplinary actions, as her behavior is unacceptable and tarnishes the reputation of the entire nursing profession.

I would appreciate a response from you regarding the steps taken to rectify this situation and ensure that such behavior is not repeated in the future. Furthermore, I expect assurance that your hospital will emphasize the importance of professionalism and patient-centered care among all staff members.

Please consider this matter with the utmost seriousness, as it concerns the well-being and trust of patients like myself. I believe in the potential for positive change, and I hope that this complaint will lead to a safer, more respectful environment for all patients at Hillcrest.

Cleveland Clinic - Billing

My wife went to a Cleveland clinic emergency room back in on January 13th. At that time she provided them with our insurance information, GEHA as I work for the Air Force. Cleveland clinic did not bill us through our insurance, and instead billed us directly. We called them and again gave them our insurance information and told them to please bill through our insurance. We again received direct bills. Again, we called a provided our insurance information. We were told that they had it already but for some reason it wasn't "linked to our account" or some such and that they would fix that.

We then received direct bills again, and now today we received a notice from a collection agency. In 7 months, Cleveland clinic failed to bill us through our insurance and instead went to a third party collection agency. We will be disputing this debt with the collection agency, since our insurance was never billed. This should never have happened and is completely ridiculous.

Desired outcome: Send bill through our insurance to be processed like any other health care bill, so Irby insurance covers their part before we pay the remaining.
