A family member purchased a dog at petland Sunday and she was extremely overcharged and taken advantage of. The dog cost was $4500 and is sold at several breeders for less than $1000. When looking thru the book they provide, there is nothing that was given as free (the charged off pricing is inflated by 2-3 times the amount it would cost if I walked in a store and purchased it), the vet discounts are not paid by petland. The vet contracts with pet land to get patients and they offer a discount for the referral. The registration of the dog included is the same stuff you can sign up fir and get your self for around $40-80. Franchise business like this hike the prices because they know you are going to one in and fall in love with a dog and not want him pinned back up in the glass crate so they have you sucked in to throw all that money away while the salesperson makes a commission which is higher for every dollar they can sell the dog for. You won't see price tags on the dogs because they make that price up when they see how interested you are in the dog. I am filing a claim for half of the amount paid for the dog and would like to bring the few extra things back to the store for a full refund on those. A demand of half of the total $4500 is what we will set for reimbursement and petland will be returned all "extra" free items that were bundled with the dog will be returned for a cash refund.
Desired outcome: To receive $2000 back for overcharging

They done the same to us! Not only that, when we left the store, they applied us for 4 different credit cards! They lied about the "free" items, I have been charged for those, the vet, they lied about the cost of the dog, and everything that was supposed to be included!
