I have worked for this company for a little over 2 years and can't believe all of the BS that goes on in this store. I worked for Wal-Mart before I worked for Target and I thought Target was supposed to be better than Wal-Mart. Well, I was wrong. The managers and human resources people have no control over their employees. They allow safety violations, threats, sexual harassment, and laziness to continue. The hard workers get the honor of doing most of the work and cleaning up after all the lazy workers' mistakes. Countless people sleep around and cheat on their spouses with fellow employees. Customer service and employee safety is NOT priority. Deadlines are not met. Short cuts are used so the supervisors "look good."
I complained about some of the lazy people who camp-out in the bathrooms for 20 minutes at a time, safety-violaters riding on equipment, employees lying to guests, and just plain NOT WORKING. The Flow Team supervisor told me that there's nothing she can do and that I was the one with the problem and should think about other employment. I also was told if an employee was not adjusting well to the job within the 90-day trial period that they are given more time to improve. I thought that was the whole point of the "trial period" to see if they were a keeper or not. It's stocking not rocket science! After a person has been passed through the 90-day trial period it takes at least 4 months before they can be terminated.
This same boss is also the one who has crossed the Supervisor-Associate boundary. She picks favorites and complains and fraternizes with employees under her. She has complained about an overweight Flow Team member, saying that he was too slow to do the job. She said this to a team member, not a Team Lead or ETL. She flirts with the male staff constantly. She's upset that her 20-something daughter was fired and now has to live with her.
There's one particular manager that is so selfish and wrapped up in his precious ad set, he doesn't answer the door or phones to let employees in. I was waiting outside for 30 minutes to be let in, no answered the bell or phones. So, I left and called back later to tell them not to count me as absent. I talked to the manager who didn't answer the door and I talked to the HR person. Idiots couldn't understand what I was telling them. Like i was just imagining things. He is still late to the door every hour on the hour that he is SUPPOSED to let employees in, early in the morning. That could be a safety hazard in itself. Someone could get mugged or raped in the dark and no one would know!
As far as training goes, we only have one trainer for the Flow Team. Any other training or advancement, you're on your own. Communication is lacking in the extreme. And forget about getting a good raise. We only get one raise a year and it is between 10 cents and a quarter. The supervisors wonder why certain team members are exhausted, frustrated, and tired of all the BS that they feed us. The TLs are so busy trying to get their scores up that they neglect the employees and don't babysit the ones that aren't working.
The only reason I have stayed this long is due to spite. Anyone thinking about working at or transferring to this store...DON'T! If you are a hard worker, you WILL be stuck with the work and care of the rejects. Any other hard workers around you will eventually quit and you will be stuck to clean up the mess and save the day.
