Petco - Grooming

I called ahead to see if the groomers were busy as to come at a time that was more convenient to the groomers. I just needed my dogs claws trimmed. They said, "Well, we can make an appointment for 3:00 pm." I said, OK. Unfortunately, I got doing my errands a little early and decided to go ahead and take my dog over. I got there at 2:25pm. I went to the check in and the girl at the counter said, "I just got a walk-in so if you give me a few minutes, we will get her in." Not even 5 mins later, the walk-in left and then we stood there for 20 mins and waited. They were not busy. The manager then came and asked if we needed help and explained that we were waiting and hoped we could get in a little early. He said, "I will check but I can't make any promises." A minute later, he left the grooming area and never came back to tell us one way or another. Finally, at 3:00 pm, I stood straight in front of the register and a the girl came out and wanted to check us in. Strangely, she acted like we had just arrived. Aggravated, I asked what was the policy on walk-ins and why did I have to make an appointment in the first place. At that point, my husband lost it. He opened the door for the grooming place and placed the dog in their area. Then, after waiting 40 mins. The girl said, "I don't feel comfortable grooming your dog. I am not going to do it now." We asked to talk to the grooming manager. She was not a big help. Meanwhile, my husband is fussing and I spent all this time NOT getting my dog's nailed done. I can't account for my husband and am sorry he lost his cool; but, this is unacceptable. It seemed to me that they just didn't want to do their jobs. Then, they used language that I have never heard to get out of doing anything to appease the customer. I worked in customer service for over 15 years and I would have lost my job if I just made excuses not to do it. Now, I guess I have to find a new groomer and switch my dogs food as I will not come back to this store in Seneca, SC. Date: 12/21/21 between 2:25- 3:05. What do I want? I want these kids to learn to do their jobs and an apology for making me wait on the hard concrete floor for 40 mins. They could have said, "Well, it will still be 3:00 instead of making us stand there. I could have gone out to the car and waited. It is very evident everything that happened was to the convenience of those working there not the customer. Store manager was not much help either.

Desired outcome: An apology and less excuses.
