Dr. Dina Eftimescu @ 361-500-4151, Suite 306 kept part if the$1800.00 given for a surgery scheduled for 7/11/19 that never happened. Surgery was cancel by the hospital staff. When I tried to pay Dr. Eftimescu's Office with discover card she said No, she does not like to pay credit charge her office has to pay. She instructed me to "Go to the bank around the corner and pull out cash." She was only going to accept cash payment for surgery. I did ask her before I left her office what if the surgery doesn't happen will I get my money back? She responded "What do you think, I am a barbarian? After over a month of waiting for a call back from office about the refund of my cash deposit I went to the office. The office manager, Mrs. Juanita explained she had placed it on Dr's . desk but she refused to respond.
Dr. Eftimescu came out of her office & said she was keeping SOME of the 1800.00 for her waking up early & I should be lucky she refunded anything because Pilates doesn't refund if you miss a class! Dr. also said I was lucky not to be in the Valley, because in the Valley they don't take Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance. Witness to this incident was the receptionist and office manager. She issued a check only in the amount of $1615.00 out of the $1800.00. After the dr left the main office the office manager was very apologetic. She said she knew it was not right, but the Dr. make the rules. On 8/2019 I reported her to the fraud dept of Blue Cross Blue Shield. The Fraud department has already verified the situation with the Office Manager Ms. Juanita. The hospital and anesthesiologist did refund my money. She said she didnt care who I called and complained to she will not refund any more.
