Good day. I was in Store# 5787, today, July 28 at about 2pm. The problem that I have is that there was only one line open to all customers. The Sales Associate, Kenyatta was working the open lane. I arrived to the line at about 2:20 pm and stood waiting for 20 minutes before finally getting checked out. The manager, Shannon was assisting a customer in another lane, but would not turn the light on and open the lane she was in to assist other customers with their items.
If the store was experiencing some sort of technical issue, the customers were not made aware of it. I don't understand why she would not assist Ms. Kenyatta with getting the customers checked out and on their way. I would think that's what the manager on duty would do if they were the only 2 employees on duty that day. However, that was not the case. This is the first time I've been in a Dollar Tree store, and this has happened. Usually, when one line is backed up, another associate will open another lane.
Desired outcome: In the future, I would like to see all available sale associates come to the front of the store to assist each other when busy to get all waiting customers checked out in a timely manner.
