I took my car for a/c service on Thursday 6/14. Jerrod told me I just needed freon and that he would check all belts and hoses and check a/c for leaks. When I picked up the car, the a/c was blowing warm, but car was sitting in sun and I didn't think much about it. As I was driving hm, the a/c was blowing warmer and then hotter. When I called Jerrod to tell him the a/c was blowing hot and the car was over heating, he was very unconcerned and said I should wait for the mechanic (Nathan) to return on Friday 6/15. When Nathan called to tell me there were 2 holes in 1 of the hoses, I asked him why Jerrod did not see that before I picked up the car. I realized they had lied to me when It cost $324.00 to fix the 2 holes in the hose when Jerrod said it would cost $78.00 for freon service and he would check for leaks. A/c still doesn't work and the car runs hot now. I cannot afford to get it serviced by a reputable shop. I confronted Jerrod and asked him why he didn't see the holes in the hose when he did the leak check, and Jerrod became aggressive and said he did what he was supposed to, which means he knew the hose had holes and let me leave the shop knowing the service was not done correctly. He knew I would have to return to get the hoses fixed and it would cost much more for the the mechanic to fix the car. I have been a customer for 8 years. I am deeply disappointed by the indifference and dishonesty displayed by a shop I thought was honest and trustworthy. I have tried to contact the actual owners Suzanne and James Wilde. I have to contact Kwik Kar Corporate, but they hide behind their statement that "All locations are independently owned and operated". I am deeply disappointed that 8 years as a customer do not matter to Anthony, Jerrod, Nathan or probably, to the Wildes. I tried to get Nathan and Jerrod to correct the problem and restore my faith in their ability, but they were just interested in charging more money. I cannot afford to take the car and have it serviced properly. Please do not let them service your vehicle. Avoid the expense and disappoint I went through. I thought they were reputable and honest. Now I have to find a new mechanic. I took the repair money from savings, now I have to save up to find a better repair shop. The a/c still doesn't work properly and the car over heats. Because of Kwik Kar Custer Road 's poor customer service and poor mechanic service, I have to pray everyday driving to work in Plano that the a/c and the car overheating will be able to wait until I can save enough to have the car serviced by a reputable shop. Please don't make the mistake I did. Please don't trust them to service your car. I should have taken it back to Burdicks. They are expensive, but they do the service correctly the first time and they are reputable.
Kwik Kar - auto repair
My car air conditioner was not working. I took it to Kwik kar
at this address. They told me that it was the evaporator and
suggested some one very close to them that could replace it.
It was replaced at a cost of over $1200.00. It did not fix the
problem. It turned out to be a leaky valve that was losing
refrigerant, which should have been found and fixed on my
first visit. This was very incompetant work and I suspect more
was going on between the two shops. I felt others should know
about this.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
