I was at my local 7 eleven today and unfortunately, this isn't the first time this has happened or the second time. I have spoken to the manager (Mani) about this in the past, and it is still happening. Mani is putting profits before everything.
This time, I will be reporting this to the Department in Utah who handles food and safety issues because Mani just blatantly doesn't care about consumers well-being and potential lawsuits.
As I was walking around, I noticed the staff at the store was removing the best buy date on foods that the date had expired on (this time it was the 7-eleven donuts) and was replacing the date with new best buy dates two weeks out. But this happens with all foods that do not have a date pre stamped on the packaging. Who knows how old that food really is since this is a common practice at this store. They are not following proper protocols when it comes to dates.
And since I am complaining, foods that come into the store that have meats, eggs, mayonnaise, and other items that need to keep cool are when delivered are left out of the refrigerator in room temperature until it is time to scan. (This I haven't seen as much lately, but I do know it does happen).
They also do not have hand soap to wash their hands. However, they do have hand sanitizer which is in the hand soap dispenser.
Desired outcome: Every employee needs to take a food handlers safety course. They also need to know and understand policies and procedures on freshness. People are going to get sick because of negligence.
