I arranged for an appointment online for November 6th 2019, and the list of items of documents I was suppose to obtained is highly false advertised versus what they say you need at the appointment, as it stated online:
The following information MUST be provided when arriving for your prescheduled Angel Tree appointment:
Valid Photo ID (Drivers license, DV ID, Picture ID or passport
Birth Certificates or official custody or proof of custody or guardianship papers if applicant is not the biological parent
Proof of need: Must bring in ONE of the following in the applicants name: Section 8/HUD lease documents — - OR - — SNAP/TANF Notice of Action — OR — SSDI/SSI/Medicare Statement of Benefits. If you do not receive the above government assistance, bring proof of ALL your monthly income and expenses. If living with someone who financially supports you - bring in a signed letter with amount of their financial support.
I had my lease including all other documents so why did I need proof of SNAPS benefit, or income when it stated online:
Important information for 2019 Angel Tree Applicants: If you received Angel Tree benefits last year and plan to apply again this year, you will need to fulfill one of these three requirements:
1) Provide a check stub from your current job (proof of Social Security or disability payments are also accepted) or,
2) Provide a current class schedule from your higher learning institute or,
3) Provide proof of having completed a life skills class after January 1, 2019.
This is in addition to the already required
This was MY FIRST time applying for this so I dont understand why I needed to provide all extra documents if this was my first time applying. The ladies there wasnt helpful, and seemed rude and as I explained that's this wasnt what online had stated they still insisted I needed this or that. I'm highly upset as a mother of 3 and was hoping to get help this year so my kids would have a decent Christmas.
