Initially contacted by a "private investigator" threatening to call our company's banks, vendors, neighbors, etc. in an effort to do an "asset & liability investigation" on our company. When asked who he represented, the "private investigator" became hostile, harassing and extremely threatening. Immediately thereafter, received a phone call from Vince Russo from Vericore who again refused to give any information regarding the alleged "debt" owed, became harassing and threatening to employees, contacted neighboring businesses when after calling the business 5 or more times in a row received no response. Sent e-mails notifying Vericore that any and all collections efforts must be directed through the mail (via U.S.P.S.) only, and that no telephone contact was permitted to continue. Numerous complaints already filed against this company all alleging the same business practices. Illegal, harassing, and unlawful communications continue still without any information regarding any alleged "debt" outstanding. No documentation has ever been provided regarding any outstanding debt.

You mentioned the debt was incurred by your company. FDCPA does not cover businesses. While this company is not IMO going about collecting the debt correctly, I dont think you have a valid claim for 'illegal' practices.

Wow! Deja Vu!

They just called us a couple of days ago with the same song and dance. Our receptionist was freaking out telling me someone was coming to take photos of our assets, when I got on the phone and asked the gentleman, who gave me such a bogus name he could not even spell it, who he was and who was sending him he said he was from MCS and was a private investigator hired by a Mr. Robert Klipp from Vericore. I asked for his number and he told me to contact Mr. Klipp who had his "cell" number. He also said he was going to go to all our suppliers and vendors and Banks to do an "Asset & Liability" investigation. I thought the call was weird and immediately called Mr. Klipp who asked for my email to send the "contract" by the vendor giving him custody of the debt. He gave me a figure of almost double what we owe this vendor. I said we had a payment plan and we had been sending $$$ every month. He said it obviously was not enough and now the account was in his hands and the Vendor would not speak to us. Then @ the evening hours I get my email on my Blackberry where he sends a bogus letter, no letterhead, and an attachment, a credit card authorization form! I sent him a formal request for all documents including his letter of engagement by the Vendor and the name of the "investigator" and his employer so we can file a complaint with the Federal Agencies regulating their business. I specified by USPS, nothing other than that would be accepted. Of course this never came. Instead, I got another email again in the evening as a copy of a letter to the Department of Revenue requesting specific information on our Corporation. Huhhh? You can go in the internet and find each State's Corporation filings at a minute's time. All he is doing is pretending you are an idiot and they are the smart ones... Sadly, a lot of people are not savvy on these matters and do get intimidated. I just went to North Carolina and found their Corporation, a Foreign LLC formed in Louisiana a few years back that got a license to do business in NC in 2004... Then I looked for complaints and to my surprise I found over 10 sites like this one with handfuls of complaints. They are being investigated by the FTC and other Federal Agencies...
PLEASE FILE YOUR COMPLAINTS! PEOPLE LIKE THIS HAVE TO STOP, I KNOW I AM AN HONEST PERSON GOING THROUGH SOME TOUGH TIMES, BUT I HAVE NEVER STOPPED PAYING MY DEBTS!

what federal agency regulates corporate debt collections? there are none. if they dont break laws, like threatening you with violence, you cant touch them.

Contact the Federal Trade Commission and issue a complaint. There are Free Legal Agencies that will help as well! This is your right whether or not you owe the debt!

Contacted by a Private Investigator with MCS Investigations doing an Asset and Liability Investigation. The client is Mike Reginald with VeriCore. He said they would be coming to take photos of our assets and contacting others about the solvency of our company.

Vericore management is all old Millekin & Michaels management. Google what happened to them and haw they got shut down. They use old school tactics to collect debt and it is surprising they have been allowed to get away with it for this long.

Nick Ford from Vericore also called us concerning a debt. We tried to settle, offering $1000.00 a month on a $11, 000.00 debt. He refused this, is harassing us, threatening to go to various businesses we had on our original credit app. Last night he faxed us a letter he plans to send our banker with the collection company letter head saying he either holds a check from our company or he is re-verifying our credit, both of which are lies. We no longer have credit with the company, we pay on delivery and he has no check from us.We sent a return letter saying we are not applying for credit, telling him NOT to contact the bank. We are a business so FDCPA rules don't apply. Do they have the right to ruin our business if we are trying to pay?
