Key pad on Deli drawer on 2 year old fridge caught fire. A "so called" emergency service call was generated on Sept 12, 2023. i have been following up to find out when the parts are to arrive. Was told the last part was to arrive October 5th. I called Transglobal to get an update and now being told the last part is not to arrive until October 7th. They would not initiate a service call to install the new parts until the technician acknowledges receipt of the parts. We are now going into week 5 without a fridge. No compensation for lost food was offered, but I did ask and was told that they would compensate up to $250 for freezer food only with proof of purchase. It has cost us a small fortune to eat out for 5 weeks! I also called Frigidaire, and they will not do anything. Claim the parts are not purchased directly through them. When you spend $3500 on a refrigerator you certainly do not expect to have it breakdown, or catch fire within a 2 year period. A refrigerator is a necessary item for survival in a home, how can these people get away with this less than ideal type of service. Just lucky I guess that we were home when the fridge starting smoking or I could have been without a home to live in as well!
Desired outcome: I would like compensation for 5 weeks of downtime, money spent on eating out and having to replenish my fridge if I ever get it working again.
