I don't think anything will come out of this complaint. However I am submitting police complaints in NJ and CA - Van Nuys. This is the standard working scam procedure.
Target scammed - Average Joes who want to have a good deal or fall for steal.
Supported by a bunch of Schils typically called Jewel dealers, or art dealers who are there to bid and create a false sense of credibility. There will be an old Caucasian man who pretends to be a jeweler. Doe s a good show of being disappointed when he misses a bid. Sits at the back. A couple of older ladies too. Test : see how many things they actually collect when the auction is over. Its typically a few people who are the actual scammed at the credit card machine
1. You will see a sign that says something generic like " Estate auction" or "divorce auction" - The name of the Auction house like WINDSOR AUCTION HOUSE or what ever name they are using that day, will not bee seen. This is to prevent quick web searches
2. There will be a lot of prints and jewelry. Typically Saladore Dali, Tarkay, Picasso and the common prints. They will be well framed. you will be asked to stick some stickers to show interest. The Auctioner - Paul as he is called in in Windsor will start with high prices - 1500 for a Dali print - retails at 30 -100 on Ebay. Will bring it down as it has to sell today! He will take away the reserve!, He will have just sold it at 3 times the price, He will say this is a one of a kind. There will be pieces that he will says cannot be sold as it does not reach the reserve price. He will say that they are hand signed so have a value. $30 prints will go for 600$ + 16% fees + tax
He will say that he prefers the pieces to go to normal people but unfortunately today is the dealers lucky day.
3. Jewelry are equally worthless. they will have a plant to build credibility and desperation - "Jeweler dealer" or art galery dealer will be buying.
4. Typically a couple of of Mexican day laborers who are taking the prints around and a few girls at the counter to create the cards
I have researched this on the web and there are a lot of scammers however they take comfort from the fact that most people don't have the time to follow this up, and the cops don't really care if individuals complain as the quantum is not big enough.
