Kudos to 1-800-Contacts! I have been ordering contacts here since 2008 and have never been disappointed. HOWEVER, I have to write about my most recent experience.I have an eye doctor *** coming up after the new year. I only have about seven contacts left to last me the next three weeks. Somehow, I ended up with seven left and one right lens. I wrote to 1-800-contacts and explained my situation. They IMMEDIATELY shipped me six contact lenses for my right eye AT NO COST! If that isn't customer service, I don't know what is. Especially with the most recent issues with the economy and prices skyrocketing.Thank you so much to 1-800-contacts and I will continue to be dedicated to your company!

I was so skeptical about this company because of the negative reviews. I am a very detail-oriented and critical person. I do my due diligence and really scrutinize companies. I can honestly say that 1800Contacts is, without reservation, one of, if not the best company out there. Excellent communication! Excellent customer service! It's almost unreal and incomprehensible to find a company who honors and respects their customers so well and so easy to work with! In a world of UBERs, VERIZONs and other truly awful, terrible companies who overcharge and do not care at all about their customers, 1800Contacts is a leader and an example in the midst of today's scam artists! I love this company! I have absolutely no complaints and every exchange with them is a joy and easy! Love em! Thank you!

AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! I placed an order online and then realized that I forgot to check on pricing with my doctors office. I has already gotten the order confirmation which said theyd ship the contacts the same day so I called to see how much time I had before I could cancel. The phone rang twice and then A HUMAN ANSWERED! No hold music, no automated menu, no extra buttons to press! She already had my account pulled up and was able to place a hold on my order and I was good to go. The entire call took less than 60 seconds. The call to my doctors office took longer than that just to find a person! ***s prices were over $100 better than my doctor so I called them back and got a human again who released the hold in less than 60 seconds and even provided my arrival date without me having to ask. Ive never been happier with an online company and Ill never order contacts from anyone else!

While I'm not new to wearing glasses or contacts, I always just ordered them directly through my optometrist. At one point, about a year ago, I got smart and decided to shop around and see if I could get a better deal. *** Contacts offered the best price, but that's not why I am writing this review. Sure, cheap is worthy of 5 stars anyway, but the overall experience went above and beyond. At the time, I had vision insurance two separate ways. A live person was able to help me determine how to apply my insurance through a chat experience. They were knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. The second time I ordered, I was under the impression they wouldn't be covered by my insurance at all. I wasn't even going to bother entering my insurance at all. *** Contacts, though, had my benefits still on file and informed me that about 95% of my purchase would be covered. Without their system, I would've paid a couple hundred dollars I didn't have to! If that's not worthy of 5 stars...Further, *** Contacts handled the entirety of the process to obtain my prescription from my doctor. All I had to do was select the correct optometrist and they took it from there. It was completely painless. Last week, my prescription was due to expire (honestly didn't even realize this myself). A live person from *** Contacts called me to inform me of this and ask if I wanted to place an order before expiration. That level of customer service is unheard of.Every experience I've had with this company has been smooth and positive. They've earned a longtime customer from me with competitive pricing, an innovative reimbursement model, and wonderful customer service.

I never really paid much attention to the ads of 1-800 Contacts as I usually bought my contacts from a local store or directly from my eye doctor. However, since I have a unique prescription, I am rarely able to get my lenses from stock, so I am used to waiting. Four years ago, I stumbled upon an online coupon for 1-800 Contacts and decided to give them a try. Since then, I have not ordered from anywhere else.

Two days later, I received an email that my lenses were on the way to me. I checked my credit card statement, and the next-day shipping was indeed waived.

Terrible Service: Eye Exam from 1-800 Contacts
So, I recently took an eye exam for glasses and contacts from 1-800 Contacts (1800contacts.com). When I received my RX, I noticed that it did not list the PD (pupil distance) anywhere. This was a red flag for me since they even had me send in an image with a croft card under my nose to measure. I contacted customer support and got a half-hearted response that they have it on file, but no one typed it in. How can you miss such an important part of someone's RX? This was sketchy red flag number one.
The customer support representative told me that my PD was 25, but when I went to get glasses, the woman helping me in the store said that the lowest they go is 50. I called customer support again, and they told me that it was 25 from my eye to my nose. I had to explain to her that PD is the distance from pupil to pupil, not from one pupil to the nose. This was red flag number two. I felt like I was talking to someone who had no idea what they were doing, especially since they are giving people prescriptions.
Later on, I found out that 50 is an "abnormally low" number for a young adult. So, I emailed customer support and told them that I was not confident that I received a proper measurement due to all the mistakes made. They tried to make me retake the whole test, which made no sense since the image is the only part of the test that measures PD. My whole exam was fine except for the measurement, and they still had my image on file, so why would I need to retake the test? I told the woman this, and she said that she would have the doctor re-look and email me back.
I am blown away that they have people testing eyes who know nothing, not even how the exam works. This is a cool concept, but terrible service. I will be going to my doctor from now on for all exams.

Excited about the savings, I clicked on the link, but the price mysteriously changed to $101 per box. I decided to chat with a salesperson to verify the price, and they informed me that the price was for new customers only. However, since I hadn't ordered in a long time, they could offer it to me. I agreed to purchase the lenses and asked them to call me back on the 20th.
To their credit, they did call me back on the 21st, but that's when things went downhill. I told them I wanted to verify the price before purchasing, and they quoted me a price of $251 for two boxes, almost twice as much as the promised price. I was shocked and laughed, telling them that I already had the lenses in my cart at EzContacts for $69.99 per box.
