Use this App Everyday
I am writing a review to get in touch with the developers: I use this app every day, and I’ve all the previous versions, BUT I like the old blue desktop icon, and Accounts 3 won’t let me set a date in the future. Accounts 2 let me make notes, like “$200/ paycheck x 20 months” for a balance transfer, where I want to date it at the date by which it must be paid to zero, to escape extra interest. It is 12/23/22 today, and when I go through the laborious month by month to get to August 2024, the app inserts today’s date. I am used to leaving notes as an entry with $0 charge, with a future date so the not stays at the top of the list of transactions. Great App, but latest version got rid of little abilities I use every day. Is it possible to go back to Accounts 2, or can you fix this one?
Good app but needs easier support
Being version 1.0 of Accounts 3 I expect some bugs and issues with a newly released app. However, I can’t find a support page where bugs can be reported. The best I could find was a Facebook support group. Since I don’t have a Facebook account I’m not sure how to ask questions or report issues or problems. That being said I will report an issue here: when trying to generate a PDF report the repot report is a blank page with no info or data. Overall, I really like the app. Update 9/2/22: Thanks for the response Steve. The PDF reports work fine on my iPhone Xs running iOS 15.6.1. The reports also work perfectly on my iPad Pro (9.7 inch) running iPad OS 15.6.1. The reports will not work and they show up blank on my iPad Mini (6th generation) running iPad OS 15.6.1. Thanks
Update 10/17/22: After my previous review the developer promptly fixed the issue with PDF reports not working on my iPad mini. Kudos for the very quick response. Accounts 3 is now an excellent 5 star app. Thank you SVT Software!
Accounts 3 ok but could be great
I picked up a copy of Accounts 3 after reading reviews of Accounts 2. I’m an old-school user of Microsoft Money and wanted something I could use on my phone and share data too. Accounts 3 does an ok job at most things (although I lost all my data once after typing it all in - fortunately I made a backup just before the data disappeared). I never used Accounts 2 so I can’t compare. In a nutshell it does everything great except a few things that make the app very annoying and difficult to use. I list my complaints in order of importance:
First: For repeating transactions always enter it on the date it is scheduled to be entered (NOT todays date - or make this an optional switch) I pre-enter lots of transactions so I can see what my checkbook is going to look like in a month… trend graphs are useless to me as I need to see down to the penny where everything will be in a month. Accounts 3 enters everything on today’s date making a royal mess of things when I enter recurring transactions for a complete month or three in advance. I then spend the next two or three hours sorting everything out again. This makes recurring transactions almost useless to me.
Second: Dropbox requires a specific location for backups. I have to back it up then move it to another location to share it then reverse the process to go backwards. I’m an IT guy so I don’t mind moving files around but this is painful. Give us the ability to select a location and default to that for Dropbox. Would save time and headache.
Third: When entering dates default to midnight. If you want to allow transactional time entry then allow it but don’t default to now() time.
These 3 changes will make Accounts 3 a five star app imo.

Running balance not matching iPhone vs iPad mini
Great app but the running balance on the iPad mini is greatly overstated over the iPhone. I finally got the syncing to work, but still big problem with matching running balance. Please advise

Can’t export data to email
I’ve been using this app for six years and suddenly I cannot export data to email address in csv. It says to go to settings to create an email account, but this option does not exist under settings.

Upgrade deleted ALL of my data!
I installed the Accounts 3 app, did a local transfer from Accounts 2, saw my data in 3, so deleted the Accounts 2 app. All of my data disappeared in 3 too, and now seems unrecoverable. 10 years of data! Please help.

Worthless! No app support either!
Bought the new app thinking that I could benefit for the new features. Transferred the data but it locked the app asking for a passcode. None previous passcodes has worked and there is not support on this app! Waste of money!

So I spent the $4, and now I’m stuck at the “enter passcode” screen. I saw your FAQ and I have no idea how to access the “finder” database on my phone. It’s ridiculous that there isn’t a password recovery built in. Any help? I only use the iPhone app.

Hello. I recently upgraded to Accounts 3. I noticed that when I tried to schedule a recurring expense, I am unable to add the start date. The date section is not totally visible. I can set à time but no date; which means this feature is useless on Accounts 3. Please advise!

No Developer Contact Info
I like this app but frustrated by no way to contact developer. The link on FAQ web page just takes you to your own Facebook page but not developers web page. Search on Facebook cannot find SVT Software forum. I have a question and cannot find a way to get an answer. Not sure if I will keep using this app.

Horrible after upgrade
I loved the free app.. when they upgraded me and now charging 5.00 a month, it took ALL of my auto transfers from banking to savings and dumped them into a bogus category! Now they all show as deposits into my savings but not as debits from my checking account! I have been doing this for years! What is up? I am looking for another program!
