I have been a customer of Acute Hearing for over 5 years and have been satisfied with the hearing aids I purchased from them
I have been a customer of Acute Hearing for over 5 years and have been satisfied with the hearing aids I purchased from them. However, last year I learned about hearing aids that can be programmed through a cell phone and decided to try them out. I went to Acute Hearing and ordered a pair to be delivered to my house. I paid Greg A $4,198 for them and they arrived on 1-17-22. Unfortunately, I was informed that my current Samsung cell phone was not compatible with the new hearing aids. Greg went online with the main office for Acute and printed me a list of cell phones that would work with my new Acute hearing aids. I then went to Verizon and purchased a new Pixel cellphone from the list. On 1-27-22, I brought my new hearing aids and cell phone to Acute to have them programmed by ***. He showed me how the hearing aids worked with my new phone and I was pleased with the results. However, after a few weeks, I started experiencing issues with the left hearing aid. It would randomly cut off and produce a loud scratchy noise. I tried adjusting the settings but it didn't resolve the problem. I contacted Acute and they managed to fit me in for an appointment to have it looked at. *** didn't specify what was wrong but assured me that he fixed it. Unfortunately, the issue recurred less than a week later and I had to bring it back again. This continued to happen, so I asked *** if I could return the hearing aids. He called me a few days later and informed me that it was too late for a return. I was disappointed because I was not provided with any paperwork explaining the warranty for the hearing aids, despite paying over $4,000 for them. The paperwork I did receive states that they are made by Starkey, which I believe is the same company that owns Acute. I have filed a complaint with the ComplaintsBoard.com since I purchased the hearing aids through Acute. I also plan to reach out to Starkey if possible. Thank you, Fred R.
