I have some termite damage to a beam in the laundry room. The company came out a provided a quote, and I hired them to complete the repair. I was advised the demolition team would contact me to do the tear out the same day. No call.. called the company the next business day and was scheduled for the repair a couple days later. They came out but did not do the repair as agreed. Rather than replacing the damaged beam, they replaced the molding around the attic door. I let them know. I could have done this for a fraction of the cost. I called Adams to discuss and was advised the estimator did not provide an accurate estimate based on the damage. I informed them, I watched the estimator send photos to the manager and heard the conversation regarding the cost. The secretary informed me. 'He was inexperienced and was incorrect. " I again told them the manager provided the cost based on photos provided, and asked why would they send an incompetent estimator out to provide an estimate? Also informed the incompetence is not my issue. They sent another person out to review. (Tanner). Tanner assured me they would complete the work as agreed and I would be contacted. That did not happen. I called them again, and was told. They cannot do the work. No phone call or anything. I understand the quote was low, and I was willing to readdress the cost. But this company apparently just hopes the agreement is forgotten. I would NOT recommend this company. Save yourself the headache and inaccurate information. I had to rate 1 star, because negative is not an option.
Here's what you need to do: don't let them off the hook. Document everything and push for accountability. Contact them again and make it clear that you expect the agreed-upon work to be completed properly. If they still won't cooperate, consider taking legal action or getting a different company to fix the damage and then pursue reimbursement from Adams Disaster and Restoration. Your time and money are too valuable to waste on their mistakes. Stand firm and demand the service you paid for.
