Cline Avenue Bridge
I’ve had an EZPass for years now and always update it, if I trade my vehicle. I have an EZPass in each of my vehicles as well. The card on file is also just dedicated to my EzPasses.
Over the years, I’ve received several notices to pay $6.75 for each time Cline Bridge didn’t accept my ezpass… when my account is up to date and my transponder is mounted on my windshield. I always check my ezpass account and I do see that they do charge my transponder as well. I’ve called customer service and it seems like either 1. They act like they have no idea why or 2. They are scamming people and making us pay extra. They never gave me instructions on how to make a claim and show proof that my EZPass is in great standing. They are no help at all and we are forced to pay the $6.75 or else the fees keep stacking. This is ridiculous.
Desired outcome: Fix the EzPass/I-Pass issue.
I received a notice in the mail that I had gone over the bridge and not paid the toll
I received a notice in the mail that I had gone over the bridge and not paid the toll. My vehicle has never been driven to *** or the surrounding area. This has to be a scam.

Was traveling on cline av in feb- mar 5 times. During that time there were no toll signs that said an amount to be paid to travel on the bridge. The toll people are trying to get 80 dollars from me stating that there has always been signs stating there is a fee to travel bridge which is a lie. Need help resolving this issue please.

On a trip to meet a client, we unknowingly used a toll bridge due to GPS error.
On Saturday, February 20, I traveled with a coworker from our office in Portage to meet with a potential client. The fastest route suggested by our GPS had us unknowingly travel on the Cline Avenue toll bridge. However, there were no signs posted anywhere on the road or the roads leading to it that marked it as a toll road. I had even selected no tolls as an option on my GPS; it didn't yet know that that was a toll road. I would have no complaint if I had simply not realized that I was getting on a toll road. I'd eat some crow and know better in the future. My complaint is that there was nothing to indicate the road as a toll road. No signs, no obvious entrance onto one with cameras or anywhere to pay. I was so fooled, I even took the same route BACK to Portage. If it had been clearly marked, I never would have done that. I only found out it was a toll road when I received a bill in the mail weeks later. They used deceptive practices, and I should not have to pay.

I received a "FINAL NOTICE" in the mail today from the Cline Avenue Bridge
I received a "FINAL NOTICE" in the mail today from the Cline Avenue Bridge. The notice has a photo of what is supposed to be my vehicle going through the toll back in September. However, the vehicle in the photo and the license plate on the vehicle (IL plate) do NOT belong to me. I have a MI license plate on my car and have since it was purchased. I was also not even in the same state at the time the photo was taken. I'm not sure what type of system is being used to connect the license plates with people and addresses, but it has some very serious errors. Now, since it's a final notice, they are threatening to send me to collections for not paying the tolls and late fees for another person, a complete stranger. This is absolutely appalling. When contacting customer service, I was told that I have to get a list of all of the license plates I've ever had to prove that this isn't my car. Also asinine. Why should I have to PAY to prove that the vehicle in the photo isn't mine? And the threats to send me to collections and prevent me from renewing the registration on my OWN vehicle? Completely unacceptable. This entire operation seems like a scam. Find the real owner of the car and send them the ***, there is no logical explanation that this should have ever been sent to me. My information needs to be removed from the account they have it linked to.

Account #*** Cline Avenue Bridge (CAB) sent a Toll Notice dated 11/12 related to a bridge crossing that is not specified by date on the notice. This is the first communication received by *** at our address. The original toll amount appears to have been $5.50 but is not explicitly specified on the notice. There is a $20 fee titled Final Notice Admin Fee on this notice added to an alleged $20.50 Previous Balance Due. Again, this was the first contact I have ever had with this business (CAB). I reviewed all PDF images from the *** (Informed Delivery) for incoming mail delivery and found no previous delivery attempts from CAB. Via email and phone customer service, CAB alleges that the Final Notice was their third mailing, but offers no substantive evidence of mailing attempts much less successful delivery. They offer to waive the first additional $15 late fee as a courtesy both by email and by phone customer service. CAB's fee structure suggests that they intend to make a profit from administrative charges from occasional travelers rather than by means of fair tolls to occasional travelers. This fee structure undermines their unproven "first and second" notice attempts which were neither received in my home mailbox (which is security locked) nor imaged by the *** under their "Informed Delivery by ***" which has accurately informed us of all incoming mail for many months. When asked for any evidence of these first two notices, CAB has been substantively unresponsive except to demand their fees. I stand ready to pay the $5.50 toll, but if CAB continues to demand late fees based upon only one notice and Complaintsboard.com cannot resolve this dispute, then I will explore all legal options.
