I live in Alabama and my power bill has doubled since this time last year. I have not been running my heating and cooling system either. I called Alabama power and of course I got a range of excuses. My kwh has increased but I am doing nothing different. I have new appliances and there is only 2 people living in the house. I didn't notice my bill increasing so much till a house was built next to mine. I know that Alabama power has increased there rates but the increase is well above what the increase is suppose to be.
I am disabled and live on a fixed income. My power bill is not far from reaching what my house payment is and I don't have the money. I have no choice but to turn everything off. I run one space heater now and have turned all the lights off. I was just running 3 space heaters before now. I can understanding it increasing with there price increase but doubling is not right.

Alabama power had turned my family lights which they just had them switched over to the apartment when my mother and father went down there they asked for these least which they showed them and then Alabama Power wanted them $250 for a reconnect fee my mother paid it was scheduled for them to turn they lights back on today but they couldn't cause they said they we're backed up today

I am fed up with Alabama power and this budget billing. Our bill has increased, at least, $70 per month over the past year. Nothing has changed... They are robbing us! Something definitely has to be done.

We've had a similar experience. After raising hell with the attorney general's office, the d.a.'s office & the public service commission...Alabama power tested our meter & put a new one on the house...nothing changed. After continuing to make calls & telling the a.g. I was getting an attorney, AL power put yet another meter on our house...our bill dropped, on average $90 a month! They are ripping the people of AL off! All I can say is make calls...annoy them crap out of everyone you can think of...get an attorney if you have to

Asked them to repair my 7 year old Kenmore refrigerator. Came same day. I told them when they arrived it would be the evaporator fan or control for it. Diagnosed as the fan. Replacement part at WWW.RepairClinic.com: $27.55. 2nd day FedEx $18.

I was just told, 2 days after their visit, that the part "might be in this week". $90 up-front charge and non-refundable. This is Alabama and it's 85 degrees. No refrigerator. I built machinery for 30 years and was many times on 24 hour overseas repair call.

Having to wait 7 days for an exceedingly simple repair is NOT a way to do business.

I hate this company with a passion. I called for a payment extension for some reason they only give you 5days instead of 10 before. Which still doesn't help me because I get paid on Wed. I was told by a Rep to take the date given as the Max 9-25 and call back to have it noted on my account that I would be in to pay it before end of business wed. Did that so why did they turn off my electric this morning. I called an the Rep said she was sorry she saw the notes but she guessed the guy was already out before it was sent to him. So now I have to pay the balance plus a $50 reconnection fee before I can get them back on. That pisses me off. I have small kids and I'm not rich. The representatives are rude and tell you whatever you want to hear to get you off the line. I wish another company would run this money hungry company out of business.

My power bill tripled the month of Nov 2017 well I wasn't home that month I was in the hospital with my wife that month so no one was there I micro manage my daily usege nothing was on but my fridge I turn my hot water down we don't cook there and my washer been broken and the air been off I don't understand y my daily use went up when no one there answer me that Alabama power

I'm a disabled Alabamian and Alabama power has charged me $719 for January 2018.. I have never had a power bill close to this amount.. I am 61 years old and the smart girl that talked to me says that I need to turn my heat down so my bill will be lower... Really? I am insulted. These smart meters arent working out in Alabama.. they change the rates based on peak usage hours.. They give us a usage figure for the month that is in flux never the same.. they adjust usage by the hour.. Is there anyone else out there having this problem? They need to be honest with people and tell them they cant compete with gas so people wont do the same mistake I have by changing over to all electric.. People cant stay warm with Alabama power. They are crooked and dishonest.

For the past two days on and off my power I has been flickering on and of . My food is starting to spoil and nobody can give me a reason why. I need answers now on how we can get this issue resolved.

I called to inquire about a power outage because my grandfather is on insulin that has to be refrigerated. The lady informed me that this was an act of God that couldn't be helped (the weather). I don't need smart responses when I'm concerned about my family's health and we are all paying customers. Thank you.

A power line was replaced and they just left the old pole with all of the wiring in the yard (huge liability). When I called and a technician came out (not friendly) he said that they must've forgotten it. It's been 4 days. I see parts of the trees that are burned in the back. I'm calling a lawyer.

A power line was replaced in my back yard and instead of hauling off the old power pole with all the electrical parts still attached (huge liability), it was left in my back yard. It's been 4 days. A technician that was very unhelpful said they must have just forgot it and they'll come pick it up? This is unacceptable. I'm calling a lawyer.

Whyetta jordan, sales associate denied my application for appliances because she didn't understand that a old bill on a closed account in which alabama power company executives apologized for allowing someone to utilize my account then set up a new account while trespassing in my home. I was awarded a $ 400.00 credit because of these illegal acts.

Tree trimmers has not cleaned up my yard after trimming trees. It’s been about 2 weeks. I can’t mow the area and with the rain we’ve had it’s really growing. I’m a senior (Mid-70s) with health issues or I would have done it myself. I have more pics. Please help. Thanks!

I purchased this hot water heater November 2016, the heater is now leaking, I was told be a customer service nothing could be done because I did not purchased the warranty.

This hot water heater shouldn't be leaking after only 6 years unless the hot water heater was defective in the first place,

Good afternoon, I live at 2863 N. Colonial Drive. Upon arriving home from work today, your contractor Asplundh had trimmed my oak tree. I have a problem with the mess they left in my front yard and the street in front of my home. I haven't noticed the brush and debris left behind in non-minority communities. How and when will this be resolved?

My entire neighborhood is at its witts end. Our power keeps going off for hours on end for no apparent reasons. We have always received poor service in our area.

Power loss 3 times in last week for no reason. Today is 7/26/2023.

Last month my thermostat was set at 69 my bill was 319 turned thermostat down to 58 and I still get the same bill of 319 its not right and you know it

Why did my Power bill double from December to January 2024? I keep my thermostat set at 65. I am on a fixed income. I am disabled. I have been wrapping up in blankets trying to stay warm. I did not utilize enough power to double my invoice.
