I have a rental House in Montgomery Alabama. I terminated the lease on the tenant in June 2023. I contacted alabama power company a day or two after the termination of the lease to put the power on in my name until I got a new tenant. Alabama power informed me that all power and equipment had been removed from that home because it has been condemned. I informed them that they must have the wrong address. They checked and said they had the right address. I told them that this was my property and that I certainly had not reported to anyone that my property was being condemned. They informed me that I needed to come down to the office with my deeds and identification to prove that the property was mines. I went down to their office with proofs. I ask them who authorized them to disconnect my service from my property, they shared with me that an individual named Edmond Hearns had requested the power and equipment be disconnected from my property because it was being condemned. I told them that this individual was not even on the lease, and that I have never leased my house to this individual, and that I could not understand how anyone could simply contact them and request to have power and equipment removed from someone else’s property, without any proof of ownership. They informed me in order for them to reconnect and turn the power back on, I would need to go down to the city inspection office and request that the house be inspected before they could turn power back on. So I followed their instructions and went to the city of montgomery to get request an inspection like they instructed me to have my power turned back on. A couple of days latter, alabama power contacted me and informed me that they had given me incorrect information, and since my power had just been turned off, they could reconnect and turn power back on without an inspection. I told them that I had went by the city inspection like they told me, and that my house did not pass inspection. They then informed me they were sorry again, but now they cannot turn power on until the city passes my house for inspection. My home was built in 1954, just like all of the homes in the community, as a result of Alabama power negligence and constant giving of wrong information to me, based on what the city inspection department is requiring for my home to pass inspection, I now have to bring my 1954 home up to 2023 code, which is costing me thousands of dollars I do not have, not to mention loosing money everyday as a result of not being able to rent property out, all because Alabama power simply allowed some individual to contact them to authorize them to do damage to property that they did not own, nor did Alabama power require them to provide proof of ownership of the property before they disconnect all electrical wiring, boxes, and service to my property, as they required from me to reconnect service.

Please, please help me if you can. If you cannot, please refer me to someone who can. I do not know what else to do. Thanking you in advance.
