Stay away…they have extremely HIGH PRICES and don’t care about the people. It is really sad that the electric companies are more concerned for their fat wallets rather than the communities they serve. Typical… being in electric company (specifically Alabama Power) and not caring bc they don’t have to deal with it and pay these prices. I know it’s a problem across the country but some states have worked to make things easier for their people (Florida as an example) I know I’m not the only one as I have heard of people having bills almost $1,000. My bill has steadily gone up since May and it’s projected to be even higher next month despite the fact that I’ve basically lived in the dark, kept my blinds closed, made it hot in my house by turning up my air, ran my dishwasher at night ALL. THE. SUPPOSED. ENERGY. SAVING. TIPS. Hey guess what!?! They don’t work when the electric company increases prices so high. When people are already struggling to make ends meet, now the electric bills are sky high. My bill went from $228-March/April to $262-April/May to $325-May/June and we were even out of town some in June so I know we weren’t using electricity as much. Then $411-June/July and we were also out of town some in July and not using electricity as much. These increases are unacceptable. I love how Alabama Power acts like they do so much for the community by giving out scholarships, etc but then kill those same people in the community.
To live in the United States and have to live like third world countries is absolutely insane. I don’t know how the people at Alabama Power sleep at night knowing that they are causing such a major issue in families. People are now deciding between electricity or food on the table. These prices are some people’s house payments and we wonder why people can pay all of their bills. Seriously disappointed and would not recommend Alabama Power to anyone. You’d be better off finding an alternative company as I will be doing because I’m not satisfied with the pricing here.
Desired outcome: Fix your pricing and apologize to the American people. How about give people more than a measly $10-$20 refund!
