Amedisys of Myrtle Beach, SC I recently had surgery and my surgeon required I have home health for a few months. I was referred to this company through my insurance. I was released on 6/17/2023 and on the 18th I received a call from the admitting nurse and she was super nice and helpful and was at my house on the 19th. My regular nurse was nice but did not have her stuff together; on her 1st visit she didn't even take my blood pressure, the PT took it when he came later that day. In her text she would always say she would call me later and I wouldn't hear from her until the following week. He only came one time and it was suppose to be for a few weeks. I had my chest cracked open and was to have a nurse come check on me so they could notice if something was wrong and I couldn't tell. That was a joke. On 7/6 she asked did I want to be discharged. That is a question only a nurse can really answer but I guess they are too busy to do their jobs so 1 patient to the side.
My insurance was charged on:
-6/18 for admitting which she came
-2 times for 6/22 which my nurse and PT came
-6/29 the nurse had a flat tire and never showed but she Charged my insurance.
-7/6 NO SHOW again because "life was kicking her butt" but she charged my insurance again
-7/11 a discharge nurse came and discharged me.
The discharge nurse was nice and thorough with the discharge process.
I am only 38 and I was watching all the explanation of benefits that were coming in the mail but if they overcharged my insurance, I can just imagine what they are doing to the elderly.
