Dozens upon dozens of American Sweepstakes Publishers offer letters were sent to my mother over a period of 5 months of which my mother answered them all. All request a one-time transfer/processing fee. These "Prize Reports" are marked as if people actually signed their names using seals that appear to be official with intimidating job titles such as "Lead Assessor" "Director", stamps that say "I.D. Confirmed" and the word GUARANTEED throughout the letter. My mother's life became consumed with these mailings which lead to other sweep stake offer letters. She had to give up her car, her bank account, and jeopardized many relationships (family and friends) all trying to help. This company is criminal and murderous exploiting the elderly of their saving and dignity robing them of their moral and ethical reasoning.

These people prey on the elderly and others who just don't realize what scams this is and that NONE of these sweeps are legit! I remember watching one of those news reports/investigations shows on TV where they were interviewing an adult daughter whose mother still continued to enter the sweeps even after losing friends, family ties, all her bank acct and savings gone! I had a client (I used to be a case manager for elderly) whose daughter contacted me so she and her sister could file for power of attorney and guardianship over their mother because of this same thing. They had to have her mail start going to a P.O. box which they set up so that they could screen her mail and stop the "sweeps" and "You just won " crap that of course she never entered. Only after the mail was not delivered directly to my client did it stop and they started to be able to get a grip on her blowing all her assets. You can't win if you didn't enter (Did your name. address, other personal info just fall out of the sky?) and if you send money overseas you can never get it back because American government/court systems have no jurisdictions in any other countries. What gets me even more is the one calling itself the Euro, Afro, Asian Lottery. WHY don't people who receive garbage from them ask themselves, "If its the Euro, Afro, Asian Lottery/Sweeps, then WHY are they telling people in the USA that they won?!"
Good luck with helping your mother and restoring your sanity once you can clean up the aftermath. She's lucky to have you. Many people don't have someone to step in, and some seniors hide it so well, many family, friends, caregivers have no idea its going on!

Thank you Crystal Carlton for sharing your post. I thought that this company was running a SCAM. After doing a Google search and reading your comment, I was pleased that I didn't fall victim to this sick game of winning. I don't know how I got on their mailing list but I hope mighty hard that this crooked man named Michael Washington in Kansas City will remove me from his company's list. People if you didn't enroll in a sweepstake, how can you win anything? Bridgette Stevens from Olympia, WA

American Sweepstakes Company is a nationally recognized third-party administrator of sweepstakes and contests for companies and agencies.
They do not run ANY sweepstakes under the American Sweepstakes name. If you’ve been notified that you’re a winner of a promotion, YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED. Criminals illegally use their name and logo to deceive consumers, and there are thousands of victims of this kind of fraud every year.

Sweepstakes winners are NEVER required to pay anything before receiving a prize, and taxes are paid directly to the IRS after receipt of winnings. If you’ve been asked to send money in any way in order to claim your prize, IT IS A SCAM. DO NOT SEND MONEY.

If you are the victim of such a scam, American Sweepstakes Company unfortunately cannot assist you in any way. Please report the incident to your local police, your state’s Attorney General, or the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov or [protected].

I just got scammed out of $1500.00 They said I won $525, 000.00 but each time I had to send $500.00 for another reason. Then I started reading about American Sweepstakes and found out that they don't pay out anything but are sponsored by other companies. They were trying to get another $500.00 out of me and I told them that was the last of my money and if this was a scam I would be in big trouble trying to pay bills. They swore that I had this money comeing as soon as they got the last $500.00 I had. I decided not to send it to them, and they stopped calling.
