On October 2023, I opened a layby for a watch at American Swiss at Eastgate Mall and on the 3rd of March 2024 I requested for the layby to be cancelled. I was then told I will be contacted at the beginning of the week to come process the cancellation as no funds are currently available in the store to complete the cancellation and refund the R3950 I have already paid for the watch. On the 6th of March 2024, I went to the store to make a follow up as I had not heard back from the sales reps as promised and I was then told to come on the weekend again as currently there is nothing they can do about it at the moment, which I did not appreciate because on top of my request not being dealt with, the representatives were not friendly or kind at all. One of the agents went on to treat my partner rudely and rolled her eyes unnecessarily so and when we brought it to the supervisors attention that her representative is not treating my partner with respect, the supervisor and the sales representative in question laughed about our dissatisfaction as we left the store.
So for a big brand like American Swiss to not attend to my initial request and also not communicate the progress around the availability of funds on top of the worst service ever was just distasteful and unsavory.
So at this moment I can't cancel my layby and on top of that the bad service was uncalled for.
So this complaint is logged regarding the cancellation of my layby and bad customer service experience.
