First. this is not the first time I have seen this happen. This officer and his K9 lives in the Carrol County, Md area. from the intersection of rt 26 and rt 32 in Sykesville Md to I-95 is 22 miles. the first 7 miles is single lane traffic the speed limit is 50 mph. it then after the 7 miles single lane journey it than turns into 2 lanes 1/2 mile before the rt70 over pass. than after the overpass roughly 1/2 mile to 3/4 mile the 2 lanes traffic begins. This is where your office in their K9 cruiser thinks it is the Indy Indianapolis 500 speed way. The SUV is K9-606.
They turn on the red and blue lights and they stay on (not flashing) from that point forward. The speed limit is posted at 55mph and is clearly visible. The officer feels the need to increase their speed to 80 - 85 mph, for the remaining 15 miles before i have to exit. This happens every time I head to work. we are heading East bound on rt32 in Howard County Md. First, they are breaking the law for which they are supposed to uphold. Second 25-30 miles an hour is off the charts and unsafe. (I would be paying hefty fines for this action). How do I know they are speeding? Because i have a GPS on my car and i felt the need to see of fast they were going this morning. Oct 26-2024. this is how i know their speed. They are not the only law enforcement that are doing this, (state, county and deputy sheriff) are as well. This happened roughly around 3:55 am- 4:00am. This continues for 15 miles till I need to take my exit heading south bound onto I-95. I am asking you address this matter before I start blowing up the news media and then the public gets to know why they are allowed to do this and act this way. By the way there is no AMTRAK service in Carrol County MD.
Second. May I suggest if there is an investigation, they get up very early in the morning in a normal car or truck and see for themselves. I have no problem sending complaints until this is resolved, also going to the news media works well too. please get this addressed. And note if is goes to the media, I will be sure to inform them that you have been informed first and nothing was done. Thank you
Desired outcome: Have the officer spoken to and them change their ways of driving. We are supposed to obey the laws Right!
