July 2009 signed a 1 year rental agreement for $1, 200 per mth including a $200 discount if rent was paid on the 1st of each month. 11 mths into the agreement had to terminate early. Followed all the proper steps, gave 30 day notice, turned keys in at month end. Now the final billing is asking for the $200 x 11 back and charging all rent even though they has re-rented the unit and is occupied by another. Ending balance is $4300, after paying 11 mths on time. The is equal to 4 mths rent.

You failed to fullfill your 12 month lease terms plain and simple. The company gave you an incentive with an agreement which you signed during move-in. You have no claim here. Furthermore, you need to take contracts you sign a little more seriously in the future. Verizon any other company that will give you a discount or incentive will all require some sort of commitment from you. if you break the contract with Verizon anytime before the 2yrs are up on a 2 year contract, even 1 month before the contract is over, you will pay a ETF (Early Termination Fee), outlined in the contract that you would agree to. Bottom line, read your contract before disputing or blaming companies for your early termination of contract.

I was a Arnel Property Manager at most of their flagship properties, so I'm very aware of the various corrupt practices in that company. This is also why I left the company, but don't take it out on me because someone doesn't follow a contract that they signed. Do you not read your lease terms before you sign them? Arnel or any business for that matter has got you by the balls if you sign on the dotted line. You go to court, they will pull the contract saying that it was for 12 months, not 10, not 9, but 12. It may not seem fair, but it's a business, and you need to understand how contracts work.

Contracts are made to be broken, but if you sign a 12 month lease, and you bail in the 11th month...you should only be liable for the 12th month. Otherwise, yes...scandless!
