Seems to be ‘Doors Plus Lots of Fuss'
My $1000 new door was scheduled to be fitted on the 16/6, I paid in full that day. 20min before arrival they rang and canceled as it was damaged. Then told me it was another 10 week turn around time.
Covid happened, I could contact every other door company but couldn't contact doors plus. Being a door is an essential service and I spoke to other door companies I found this strange.
10/11 they came and fitted the new door, but it was terrible didn't close properly, I had to push it near the handle to get it to latch, sometimes I had to put a doorstop in front to get it to close as it literally wouldn't latch. I tried calling but no answer and the message bank was full. Then a week later I got through and they said they would get back to me with a time in the next week, I said no send someone tomorrow, this is my front door, they sent someone who ‘fixed it'... Improved but not fixed. I also pointed out a hairline type split in the door about 20-30 cm long. The guy put his fingernail in it and took a little chunk out and said yep it's damaged, someone will call you by tomorrow to arrange this to be fixed or replaced.
One week later nothing, so I email as no one called and you can't get through on the phone. Now they tell me the guy that came out fixed it and my door is fine. I explained it's not fine and explained the split and what he did, explained that the door still doesn't always close properly and it won't stay open but starts closing on me as I walk through it so it's not even hung correctly, plus now the handle is jamming and appears locked when it's not.
They ask for photos, I send them and they reply ‘my door is fine but I have voided my warranty as I haven't sealed it. I lost my [censored] and told them it's been damaged since the day of instillation why would I spend a fortune sealing it when it's still not even working.
They offered a $100 refund. I replied that they must be joking, it would cost me more than that to have it repaired and fitted properly, plus replace the handle. They asked what I thought was fair. I said $600 as I need a carpenter to come and hang it properly, a new handle and the painter to fill and fix the split be before he can seal it. Alternatively to send someone to come and take the door and reinstall my old door.
Now they are offering $150 for my painter to repair the split and someone to come and fix or replace the handle.
This is not good enough, I have had panic attacks when I door opened by itself in the night (my bedroom is next to the front door), I have a threat in my street that requires me to have good security and I care for little children.
I'm appalled at the service and quality of such an expensive door.
