Jeffery was awesome
Jeffery was awesome. In inspecting our system he discovered that one of our ducts had separated and air conditioning and heating was being directed to the space under the house. It was costing me an increase of $20.00 per month in energy expense. It was difficult for him to repair and he could have easily not said anything about it but he did not. This is just another example of AUX technicians doing good things for their customers.
I would like to thank Matt B***, an electrician from Aux home services for his outstanding job
I would like to thank Matt B, an electrician from Aux home services for his outstanding job. I called for the same day service to fix two high ceiling vans. He came within one hour of my call.
He was punctual, highly professional, attentive, knowledgeable. He gave me a piece of valuable advice regarding a new electric policy in Alabama.
I will definitely use Aux Home services again and I highly recommend using Aux Home Services
the water heater, which was installed by AUX earlier in the year, stopped working. I called AUX for service and they responded pretty quickly (the next day) - after being informed, by AUX, that the gas company replaced my gas meter that day and did not turn the gas back on because i was not home. The technician also began to sell me a water heater because the one THEY JUST INSTALLED looked old...when the gas was turned back on, the water heater began to work but neither the air conditioner nor the heat would come *** I contacted another HVAC company who inspected the unit and reports that the control board is no good. I will have the other company replace the control board AND the damaged duct. I would appreciate a refund of the money spent to repair the faulty items.
RUN! DO NOT CALL! Needed a ceiling fan lowered with an extension rod. I should have known something was up when I called and they could immediately send a "technician" out to give me an estimate. 1st thing he says after coming to the door was "how long have you been "members" with us? Members? Of what? Never explained "membership" thing. I showed him the ceiling fan that I wanted lowered. He could do this and he could do that. Then the ***! "Can I take a look at your breaker box?" Me: Sure thing. "Breaker box looks good." "Can I take a look at your outside electric unit?" Me: Sure thing. "Oh no this is not good! This is not to code!" Me: Not good! 3 hours and an estimate totalling $***, I finally got the estimate for the *** fan for $***! Fan not lowered and we're never calling this company again! They are con artist! They charge you $*** for a service call no matter if you get any work done or not! The "technicians" are not licensed electricians, they are sales reps! They will tell you your house is not up to code and scare the crap out of you! If your house was built in 1974 like ours was, you do not need to have your electrical be up to code! You are "grandfathered" in. There may be a few things that you can change like new surge outlets and fire/carbon monoxide detectors in every room, but those things don't cost $***! If you call Aux Home Services after reading this review then you are the perfect victim for them! You have been warned!
Scheduled an appointment on Friday May 20 for them to come to my home the following Monday to examine and quote a fee to replace my electrically wired smoke detectors (6). I was texted that Friday and on Sunday morning that they would call 30 minutes before they came. On 3:30 pm Monday after waiting all day they called to say they couldn’t come on that day after I had waited all day on them. They wanted me to schedule another day. PATHETIC Service. They do not deserve an A+ rating after they hung up on me as I was telling them that I couldn’t waste another day waiting on them!
Good afternoon, I would like to file a complaint against AUX Home Services. Since the purchase of our new HVAC in late October, we’ve have numerous problems with the system. During the several times the service tech has been out here to fix our unit, it has been pointed out to us how poorly the unit was placed and put together. Which I have documented with photos along the way. The tech made some repairs to fix where the installation team failed. But our unit still isn’t cooling properly. We have it set on 74 and it’s 80 degrees and rising in our home. We currently have condensation build upon the inside unit, which is dripping water in our home. And come to find out, we are heating/cooling our attic, due to poor install, mounting, and attachment to the air duct above inside unit. Please help us get this $*** unit in proper working order. In addition, AUX did not have a work permit from the City of Hoover.
I had a slight plumbing emergency and called Aux on a Saturday
I had a slight plumbing emergency and called Aux on a Saturday. I have an annual contract with them and have for years. No one answered the first number I called but while looking for another number to call they called me back! I was very impressed with that and they knew my name too. They sent Micah, a Plumbing Technician and he was so personable and fixed the problem in just a matter of minutes. Once again I am totally satisfied with Aux.
Tyler did a great job. Very professional and courteous service.
I had a very pleasant experience with this company, and I would recommend them to my family and friends.
Top rate service. Very professional explain the process as they work
My initial interaction with AUX's salesman was great (a little expensive and maybe oversold but I was ok with that) and the installation, i thought, went well since I did not have to stay home for them to install. However, when I did arrive home, i found that two of the air ducts that were to have been replaced where not attached to the vent going into the house. I have called 4 times and have been told each time that someone would get in touch with me by phone or by text. The installation was the first of December and I am writing this review on February 11 and the ducts have not been replaced and the two I originally complained about are still lying on the dirt underneath the house. Another issue, that I had not reported, yet, is that after installation, two outlets are not working in my home. Very friendly people, though.

Just spent the last 3 days with Dustin and Jonathan from Banks and Quarles, who installed a new A/C system and did major work on an existing system. Both were on time, very courteous and professional. They spent 3 hot days mainly in the attic, never complained about the heat or how long it was taking. They answered all questions and were very careful to clean up after themselves. I would gladly have these two in the future if needed which I hope I don't except for routine checkups.
Technician came within an hour of initial call. Chris found out what the problem was. He was very professional and personable.
I had Aux come to my home 2 months ago to evaluate a water leak. $1,000 payment and a $700 water bill later and it still isn't fixed and another high water bill. With this visit they cancelled 3 x after knowing I had made work arrangements. I had to get my 80 yo parents to drive 40 min to wait on them during the day. I will say that technician was very nice. Now the leak is back. And so is the high water bill! I explained to the scheduler the above and to not schedule me to evaluate the leak if I was going to be cancelled. Well guess what! I was cancelled once again (four total). I asked for the manager to return my call to discuss. Never received it. I would not recommend this company.
Nick was fabulous! He installed a SSI inline water safety shut-off system. Very polite and courteous.
Very Professional, polite, follow Covid protocol, gets the job done successfully!

Johnathan arrived late in the day but made me feel like I was his first customer
Johnathan arrived late in the day but made me feel like I was his first customer. I explained my issue and he went right to work with his investigation. He confirmed what I was experiencing and explained that the root cause was an internal part of my refrigerator/water dispenser and that he could not repair or replace this part. I appreciated his honesty. He provided me with several options that included repair and/or replacement of my refrigerator. I will definitely call AUX and Johnathan again when I need them. A trusted company and service representative is a very valuable asset! Thank you Johnathan.
We have used AUX for over 15 years because they are the best
We have used AUX for over 15 years because they are the best. Our Tech is Jonathan and he has always made certain were are treated fairly. Jonathan recently spoke with management on our behalf about a plumbing issue we had and was able to save us a lot of money. AUX is about the people they employ such as Jonathan. I know Jonathan will always treat us fairly and has proven it time and again. Jonathan has become more than an AUX employee but a friend who is always welcome in our home. Thank you again Jonathan for another job well done. AUX is fortunate to have someone of your caliber working for them.

Our initial interaction with Aux was not good - although a technician came out on the day that we called, we then waited 11 days (in June, with no a/c) with inadequate communication about when the problem would be fixed. Our repair date kept being pushed back. Then, we were assigned a new technician - Billy, who was fantastic! He worked diligently to get the parts that we needed, kept us informed on the status of the work, and truly seemed to care that our unit was fixed. He even called the day after to ensure that it was all working well. We were very pleased with the outcome and highly recommend Billy as an Aux technician!
Jonathon, Matt B
Jonathon, Matt B. And his crew at Aux have been nothing but courteous, professional and helpful. Matt especially made the experience pleasant by thoroughly explaining what he was doing, giving a realistic timeline, and working with us to make the repairs affordable and within our budget. He was prompt and polite, and, wait for it... DID WHAT HE SAID HE WOULD DO. This never happens with home repair, right?! But Matt and the folks at Aux Home Services make you feel like you are their only customer, and that your customer service experience really matters. I would highly recommend this company for whatever is currently falling apart in your house.

Aux Home Services has always been easy to work with
Aux Home Services has always been easy to work with. We've used them for installs in the past. Their front office is great, quick to call you back, and keep you updated so you know when to expect the tech. This time I had a very complex HVAC problem, with multiple zones, a Lennox unit, a damper, and a Nest thermostat. This time Aux sent us Billy, and he was awesome! Although to be fair, all the guys we've interacted with have been awesome. He was able to quickly diagnose and fix the problem, even though Nest tech support wasn't able to provide much guidance. So I know he can handle the easy stuff in his sleep. When you've called other companies and they can't fix your issue, call Billy. Better yet, just save yourself some time and headache, and call Aux and Billy first.

Do not use Aux Home service if you want to hire an honest and dependable company
Do not use Aux Home service if you want to hire an honest and dependable company. After booking a repair appointment, I was told a dispatcher would be in contact to let me know when someone would arrive. After being left for hours in 90+ degree heat, I called again to ask when someone would be arriving. I was told all technicians were busy but someone WOULD be coming that day. After 6pm that day, I got a call to say no one would be coming but they could rebook the appointment for Monday. I was given no apology for being lied to twice. When I asked why they did not let me know sooner so I could have booked someone else for the job, she did not answer answer the question, only said again "we can rebook you for Monday". If this company lies about showing up for a job, I'm sure they would lie about the repairs needed and over charge as well. This company is not honest and showed they do not care for the safety or health of it's customers.

AC unit installed June
AC unit installed June . Unit went out July 4th. Tech came out July 5th about 8am. Good response time. After that no communication. Had to call them on many occasions just to hear compressor is on order. Asked for shipping info, just to have some sort of timeline of repair. It is now July 16th. Unit was installed in a day and now I can’t get 1 phone call with an update. Understand delay in shipping across the country but a phone call every few days to give an update would go a long way in 100 degree weather.
Explaining charge to justify the $260 fee
Explaining charge to justify the $260 fee. Had clogged bathtub drain, (hair clog). Aux plumber came out and told my wife that it would be "a job' to unstop the drain and said it would cost $260. My wife respected his so-called professional opinion, gave the ok. The only tool utilized was a hand-held plumber's snake and within a total of 15 minutes, the drain was cleared. It obviously wasn't "the job" he had quoted. The charge of $260 was not adjusted accordingly, and the plumber and Aux took the money and ran. I called Aux for an explanation and was told I would receive a call, however, that has not happened.
In Sept 2016 I had an inspection by Aux
In Sept 2016 I had an inspection by Aux. I then bought a unit for $9,500. It was delivered 9 months later. Has not worked properly since. Purchased 9/19, $4,000 down payment. Not delivered till 6/16. Since that time the unit has failed to perform properly. There have been at least 15 calls to the company. They have responded but never has this unit worked. I am of the firm belief that the unit is defective. I was given a 10-year warranty, but even that has had no benefit for me. Every house called, I am told something different as to the problem. I have a number of receipts and a number of times no report was given. It is now the heat of the summer and it has happened again. No air for 3 weeks!

They charged me $770.00 for a part still under warranty until 09/2024
They charged me $770.00 for a part still under warranty until 09/2024. I should have only paid for labor. This company has serviced my HVAC for years, and I've been on their maintenance plan. No issues until now. Shortly after servicing, my AC failed. I suspect foul play. They stalled for a month; management only emailed. Calls led nowhere; they'd say they're 'looking into it.' Management's few emails offered no solution, showing indifference. This is their treatment of Disabled Veterans.
AUX came to my mom's house at xx on 2 Aug
AUX came to my mom's house at xx on 2 Aug. 21. We had a problem with sewer flies and thought there might be a pipe break. Aux didn't find any breaks, but there was an underground section they couldn't see. They needed to uncover it for inspection. I agreed to let AUX dig up and replace the pipe section the next day, just to be safe. I gave them a $xx deposit, expecting the work to start and finish the next day. But the next day, AUX called to say they didn't have the supplies needed for the job. I told them that if they couldn't do the work that day, I would have to cancel since I had to go home that evening. The AUX rep said she would check with the crew and call back with other options, but she never did. I asked for a refund on 5 Aug, but still no refund.
It all started about a month ago, when I contacted Aux Home Services for help with my AC and electrical issues
It all started about a month ago, when I contacted Aux Home Services for help with my AC and electrical issues. To my disappointment, their service was not up to par. It took them two separate visits just to inform me that I needed a completely new AC and furnace. Despite their promises, an electrician never showed up on both occasions. Finally, on Friday, August 27, they installed the new AC and furnace, which cost me a whopping $8900. However, just 24 hours later, on Saturday, August 28, water began seeping through my ceiling into my living room.
Thankfully, the repairman on call (the only competent person I've encountered so far) pointed out the numerous installation mistakes they had made with the new AC. They even broke the drain pipe, causing water to accumulate in my attic and resulting in damage to my house. Moreover, they blatantly lied on the receipt by claiming that the drain pipe had been tested. They assured me that a sheet rock repairman would contact me, but I haven't heard from anyone yet. Now, I'm left with water damage and a lack of trust in their ability to fix it.
On April 29, I hired Aux Home Services for some work at my place
On April 29, I hired Aux Home Services for some work at my place. They were supposed to remove the HVAC ductwork under my house at 751 Montgomery Dr, Birmingham, AL XXXXX and replace it with new ductwork in the same spot. Additionally, they were supposed to install a new outdoor AC unit and a matching indoor furnace unit at the same address. After the new equipment was installed, they were supposed to complete the ductwork. To secure the deal, I made a down payment of $10,000 through American Express on 4/29.
The ductwork was done between June 7 and June 10. However, on June 10, I was informed that the equipment was on back order and would only be available the following week. Since June 10, I haven't received any updates from AUX regarding this job. I've tried calling them 18 times to get information or make alternative plans, but I haven't been able to speak with anyone who knows about this job even once. Sometimes, I was told to talk to ***, and I've left numerous messages for them. But all I've been able to do is leave messages. Can someone please help me out?
Aux Home Services did some small electrical repairs at our place
Aux Home Services did some small electrical repairs at our place. They charged us over $800 for just two hours of work. They replaced a breaker and installed a light fixture, which needed some wiring changes, on July 27 (job #XXXXXXXX). The electrician was at our house for two hours, and we ended up with a bill of $889. The breaker itself cost around $75. We provided the light fixture, dimmer switch, and bulbs. So, if you do the math, the hourly rate was way over $400. My wife paid the bill without questioning it because she felt overwhelmed. She was alone at home, taking care of three kids and a dog, and was shocked when she saw the amount due. They did give us a verbal estimate before starting the work, but it wasn't clear enough. They didn't provide a written estimate either. I filed a complaint with the company, and the general manager, ***, responded to it. Mr. said that they only have fixed prices, so a job that takes 2-8 hours costs the same, regardless of how long it actually takes. He didn't offer to adjust the amount they charged us. The work they did barely took two hours, so it just fit into the "2-8 hour" category. It's hard to understand why that time bracket is so wide. The hourly rate of over $400 is completely unreasonable and can only be seen as taking advantage of customers.
When I called this company for help, it was an emergency, and I had a lot of problems with the scheduling group
When I called this company for help, it was an emergency, and I had a lot of problems with the scheduling group. But then, the technician who came to my house told me about the Always Ready Membership Plan. It sounded great because it offers 24-hour HVAC service. The technician said that as a member, I would get an appointment within 24 hours of calling. That's what convinced me to sign up. But when I called again, they said the next available appointment would be in 5 days. Even when I told the after-hours employee that waiting 5 days was an emergency for me, they didn't seem to care. I was really mad at that point. I had just paid $299 for a whole year of membership based on what I now think were dishonest sales tactics by Aux's technician. I called Aux and complained about their misleading sales tactics and how they broke the membership agreement. They magically found an appointment for me 2 days later, but by then I knew they wouldn't honor my membership as promised. So, I asked for a full refund. They agreed, but it's been over 2 weeks now and I still haven't received my money back. They said I would get it within a week, but they didn't even send the check until a week later. Now, it's been another week and still no check. That's why I'm writing this complaint to get my promised refund.
After the company I used for HVAC services went out of business, I contacted AUX for a 6-month tune up/routine maintenance service before winter
After the company I used for HVAC services went out of business, I contacted AUX for a 6-month tune up/routine maintenance service before winter 2022. The website and a phone conversation with an AUX representative said they would service my system routinely for a then advertised price of $***. The technician came on time, opened my unit, and took pictures of things he said needed fixing or replacing. He also went under my house and said there was a leaking pipe. When he finished, I asked if he did the routine maintenance and cleaning. He said "No" and told me this service is for members only. They said I could join their membership program for $*** per month and then he would do the tune-up. When I first contacted AUX, I asked for a service/tune-up, and they said they would do it. But all he did was try to sell me a membership that includes plumbing, electrical, and unit maintenance. While he was still at my home, I called the AUX office and they again said that for $***, my unit would be serviced and cleaned. He didn't do it and said he could lose his job if he did it for that price. All I got was a list of repairs (according to him) totaling $***. This was supposed to be a routine service call. The previous company I used always serviced my unit routinely, and I never had any issues before. This is FALSE ADVERTISING. I did pay the $***, but I didn't get the service I asked for. Before leaving my home, I expressed my concerns to the technician, and he said he would put me on a do not service list. FUTURE CUSTOMERS, BE CAREFUL!
I was told the wrong price and got charged too much
I was told the wrong price and got charged too much. They didn't use my coupon or give me a refund. They also messed up installing a $592 light, which cost me more money. I called on Wednesday to get my tankless hot water heater flushed and scheduled an HVAC guy for my yearly service. They said there would only be one fee of $49. But they messed around with the schedule and the HVAC guy, who wasn't even my top priority, didn't come until late Saturday. The plumber didn't come until the following Monday. They kept calling to say I was still on the schedule, but it wasn't timely. When the HVAC guy came, he didn't clean the unit and installed a UV light for mold without mentioning it only treats a small area. He also didn't honor my $50 off coupon and overcharged me, telling me to take it off the plumbing service. When the plumber came on Monday, he fixed the hot water heater but couldn't fix the shower water pressure without an $800 part that I could buy for under $100 at Lowes. When he wrote up the services, he had an attitude when I asked him to waive the dispatch fee and honor the coupon the HVAC guy missed. He argued and said the HVAC guy always messes up and can do whatever he wants. He also said the coupon only applied to gas hot water heaters, not electric ones. About a week later, my AC broke and I called for help. They said it was an emergency and someone would come soon. They called to say I was still on the schedule. But 7 hours later, with no AC and an elderly woman, a pregnant me, and a toddler in the house, they called to say no one could come until Monday (it was Saturday night). I was really upset and begged them to send someone, but they refused and hung up on me multiple times. I only called because I thought the HVAC guy caused the problem. And he did, he installed the UV light wrong and it shorted out. Another professional confirmed this. We're lucky it didn't damage the whole system. They never called us back and didn't send anyone on Monday. I called Perfect HVAC and they came within 45 minutes and fixed AUX's mistakes. We finally had AC in time for everyone to go to bed. This is a terrible company that won't call us back or fix our refund issues. Their 24/7 service means nothing. I've never been treated so badly by a company and their representatives.

Plumbing issue: Kevin D and his assistant were great! Quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. Very personable and well-versed, discussing the problem and the process for fixing it in great detail. Set us up with their customer membership for necessary future maintenance to be covered annually, reducing the price and hopefully preventing the problem from arising again. Thanks, Kevin!
