Beware
My sister, I'll call Amy, had posted an online resume, Bankers Life phoned her for an interview. All the rewards and benefits she was told about was just too good for someone with her work experience. I went to an interview with her just to help her find the address and just planned on sitting in the waiting room. Amy went back in an office and about ten minutes later she came out and ask me to come back there with her. There were two men in this office along with one popping his head in and out. As I sat down these guys started asking me questions. It was as if they were plotting a strategy. I listened to three hiper, laughing men for a few minutes going on about careers, commissions and how upper management would be so proud of them to hire both me and my sis. Very confused about what was going on, I ask them, what's up with this interview because I wasn't looking for a job, my sister was. Basically they said that with Amy's and my looks that we could make a lot of money with Bankers. How with our looks and our sweet personalities that no one could resist buying policies from us.
Then as long as I live I will never forget what one interviewer said while the others chimed in. William said, "These old Gizzers won't know what hit them, they will buy any policy just to get to look at you two." A lot of other derogatory comments were made about the elderly too. The first person to come to my mind is our own Poppop. What a terrible name to call our elderly men.
I stood up and looked at Amy and my sweet Amy completely went off on these guys. She told them that they had wasted her time because she didn't know the job was for a prostitute. She also told them that since she was a christian that she didn't think the Lord would appreciate her taking advantage of the elderly for a pay check. As we walked out the door, my sweet Amy said very loudly, "you sick SOB's." and slammed the door. I was so proud of her. I couldn't have told them off the way she did because I was in shock.
A good thing come out of this interview. We love the elderly, we have several in our church that we visit as if they were our grandparents. Amy has enrolled to start Speech Therapy, she wants a job helping our elderly, not harm them.
We did write a letter to the Protection for the elderly.
Job seekers, especially women, BEWARE of Banker Life. Don't waste your time or your dignity interviewing with these creeps.

Bankers Life and Casualty should be shut down. This company is absolutly deceitful in its behavior. My Mother bought a Long Term Care policy on my father years ago. My father has become bedridden, in need of significant daily care. The company did pay 26k of the claim after making us jump through hoops but given good documentation paid. Now after a required 6 month break and additional 6-9mos we filed additional legitimate claims and the company is trying desperatly to weasel it way out of its obligations. No straight answer from anybody, shifted from person to person, no case representive. As of late are now claiming they sold us a different type of policy than the salesperson stated and different than even the policy documents describe. We have retained legal representation and given full documentation will track them to the end of the earth to get fair treatment. I CAUTION YOU that unless you have significant resources to hire an attorney and are in good enough health to maintain the pace of the task DO YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. This company is an absolute rip off scam and with good reason they have lost better business bureau accredation. The top executives should be put in jail and the people that enforce their theiving policies should me put in as well...

Bankers Life is set up so it's too difficult to make a claim...in a persons time of need...how deplorable. I am getting no where for my mom with her long term care plan with them. I want to do something about it...make it known to others not to buy from them.
I am very sorry to tell you that since they were bought and consolidated into Conseco they have become a scam operation.
A lawyer is your only hope, and that may cost as much or more than you get.

Deceit
This company should be ashamed of themselves. My parents 75 and 76 years old have had a policy with them for 6 years. My dad had a significant stroke that left him seriously debilitated. He was sent home to die with dignity and respect. My mother contacted Bankers Life to "activate" his policy for home care. Believing in what the agent sold her (all lies).
She was told by MULTIPLE people at Banker's Life, " He (my father) met criteria for round the clock care 24 hours / 7 days a week". Any sane person would believe that meant Bankers Life would pay on the claims for round the clock care givers 24/7. WRONG! They failed to mention the BUT... He met criteria for round the clock care 24/7 BUT... the policy will only pay a max benefit of $120 a day. Now who knows anyone who will work for $5.00 an hour . No one. It's unamerican. It's below minimum wage. Disgraceful! Bankers Life is deceiving our eldery. Selling them a pack of lies to get them to sign up for the policies. They had no problem taking the funds from my parents to pay the policy premiums, but they have all kinds of problems paying on the claims. I say it's Elder Abuse! When you call the company, you get a huge run around with empty promises that they will "look into it", and call you back. No such luck. "Customer Service" representatives are very rude. I spoke with five different people trying to help my mother, to no avail.
BEWARE!
BEWARE!
I can only hope someone will see this psoting and avoid getting involved with Bankers Life & Casualty.
For my mother whom is 75 years old to have to go through this while trying to cre for her 76 year old status post stroke husband of 54 years is a crying shame.
Again, I say to Banker Life & Casualty - SHAME on you!

This complaint has no basis. While it is sad and tragic that the senior in question needs round the clock care, it simply comes down to what happens 99% of the time. Poor or no planning. Or what I run into all the time, "oh, that will never happen to me so no I don't need more coverage than that".
The policy in question is clear on what it pays out. Chances are very good that the amount of benefit sold was all the senior could afford at that time. It is not Bankers fault that it is not enough. If anything, the children of the seniors should have reviewed the policy to make sure it was enough for catastrophic care.
This can be compared to buying a brand new car outright and having no collision insurance on it. Then when it gets totally wrecked and unusable by the fault of the owner, the owner screams that they should get full coverage. Doesn't work that way. You get what you pay for. Period.
Agressive hiring tactics
I went on an interview with this company after being contacted after having my resume posted on a job board. I had worked in the insurance industry previously and had no desire of a pure commission position. I left a message for the recruiter after some research that I wanted to cancel the "interview." Someone contacted me and assured me that I could receive a one on one immediately following the group session and that there were management positions they were seeking with base salary components. Against my better judgement, I went on this so called interview.
When I got to the interview I found a group of about 15- 20 folks, most with no sales experience which did not speak highly of their selectivity. They also lured the others with thought they would receive an interview, but only received a career overview and told to leave their resume (even though recruiting had their resume to invite them to the interview). Well, they flashed all kids of numbers to try to get you interested. Also, they stressed a couple times how lucky we were they were hiring. This is really funny because they don't hire, but just urge you to sign a contract for you to be an exclusive 1099 agent. So... you can expect fully to pay for all your testing, training, gas, contribute to their overhead, etc... Also they give new prospects a " recommended " schedule for 40 hours which includes three full office days. When I asked the branch manager later during a one on one what happens if you cannot follow their schedule and do three office days, he told me they withhold better leads.
Beware of companies that promote that they are hiring and have group interviews during a lousy economy. This speaks volumes about their selectivity (lack their of) and more about their high turnover rate for new hires. Basically, if you work for this company, be ready to invest for about six months, make tons of cold calls from their office, and hope their leads and training are as great as they told you. Use some common sense, if this company was so great, why would they be doing group interviews monthly and recruiters contacting you unsolicited?
There are some decent insurance companies to work for, but be very wary of exclusive captive agencies that invite you for an interview and only want to hire you on straight commission and want your total commitment, but won't take any risk on their part.

Bitter people have to vent but i really don't think some of you have given Bankers a fair chance. NO insurance company in the U.S. is perfect. That is why we have E and O, and for some reason poor BL&C gets the most complaints from prospective agents, likely because they indeed do a cattle call approach. But it's a numbers game.
Bankers as a company is excellent and pays their claims. It would behoove any Bankers Agent to handle all the customer service with their senior clients, that's why they get nice commissions. It's an on going client/agent relationship.
Finally you can indeed make a very good living at Bankers, but it is a LOT of hard work, yes "cold calling" but so what? Sales is always about rejection. you just have to move on and say next! If some one does not want our help, there are others that do!
Well, where should I begin?! On Monday, March 29, 2010 I received a phone call from a "representative" from Banker's Life for a positon as "account executive." Seeing that I have only RETAIL SALES/MANGEMENT EXPERIENCE, the red flags began to emerge. As the saying goes(which, by the way was instilled in my head since childhood!) IF IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE..you all know the rest! After doing some research, I came across this site and realized my gut insticts were proven correct! Furthermore, my girlfriend received the same contact, not from Banker's, but from another Insurance hiring scam. She is somewhat gullible unfortunately so I did not mention this job offer to her. Ok, back to Banker's. I was told, as were other bloggers here, to dress "professionally" and bring a copy of my resume. Well, don't they already have one..have they ever heard of forwarding email?! Or, use a copy machine?! PROFESSIONAL? The rep. who scheduled my interview could not even get my email address correct to confirm the meeting! I had to tell her twice! As for the people who posted positive comments on this site, all I can say is you're naive or a corporate kiss-###..or perhaps a bit of both. Therefore, when a majority of the responses shift to the negative, common sense dictates this company's integrity/credibility is questionable. Any logical thinking person can see this is a scam geared toward desperate, un-employed persons. Soooo, as you can guess by now I phoned yesterday at 4:55 to cancel my interview. I left a message and got a call back about 5 minutes later, from the same person I left the message by the way, to confirm my interview for 10am Wednesday. I told her I wanted to cancel. She then asked if I wanted to reschedule and my response was "I WANT TO REASERCH YOUR COMPANY FURTHER BEFORE PURSUING." She knew immediatley I was aware of this scam as her voice cracked and she began talking fast..a sure sign of nervousness! She then told me she will let her Manager know of the cancellation. Well, geeee, thanks! Then, this afternoon I received an email from another "representative" from Banker's saying sorry we missed you this morning, and feel free to call us if you wish to reschedule your interview. Another red flag: INTERNAL COMMUNICATION does not seem to be their top corporate concern. And they want me to dress/act professional..give me a break! After reading onwards, I now realize Banker's focuses on the elderly; taking advantage of them bascially. I WILL NOT HAVE ANY PART OF THIS! It sounds like constant cold-calling and/or door-to-door sales. In other words, any monkey can do this...what and where is the challenge?! Besides, any Insurance company with even the slightest concern of reputation will not hire in this manner. GOOD LUCK BANKER'S...NEXT!

***Bankers does take a risk in hiring - the time spent keeping in contact & following up with someone, the field trainer's time, the office administrator's time, etc... a lot of time & effort is put into contracting a new agent by several Bankers employees, so yeah, there is some investment on Bankers' part. ***
Give me a break, that is not "risk". That is the Bankers "business" model. Hire as many people as you can possibly shoehorn into an office, then hope that .005% of them will float and that the rest will at least write some business to their friends and family, AND then, that at least a portion of said business doesn't lapse. Guess who still gets the renewals? Then do it all over. Keep that door revolving.
Who are you kidding? Risk? Explain "Risk". You mention "time spent", but that's the job for these people. Spend time. Scour the the internet, papers, etc and look for marks to be Bankers agents. What else would they be doing? The field agents still go to their appts with or without new marks. The office administrator is there to do paper work anyway. Wow, the CEO of Bankers must be sweating it out everyday with all this "risk."
***It is a 1099 position, and that means you pay for your own state testing, gas, etc. I don't know about the office you interviewed at, but in the office I work for, we don't do cold-calling, and don't do door-to-door sales. ****
I was thinking you might be delusional, but clearly you are just a liar. There is absolutely no office in Bankers that does not use cold calling. You can twist it and say Bankers "leads" qualify it, that the seniors who are being harassed on the phone are not being cold called but you are clearly being dishonest. The leads are awful and I can safely say that most seniors do not even remember filling anything out. So it is cold call. The seniors fill out some postcard under the guise that they will be receiving literature with information regarding Medicare. Surprise a Bankers agent is on the line to harass you.
Ever here of the T65 list? It's a list of people who are turning or have just turned 65, with, wait for it...phone numbers you can call. What, Since they turned 65 this entitles Bankers to call them? It's a cold call. Every Bankers office does it. You have no credibility after saying there are no cold calls.
***The reason for the group interview is again, to avoid wasting hours upon hours of time. In our office, the first interview is a group, and it's really just to get candidates familiarized with our company. The second interview is a one-on-one. Some offices handle things differently. This position is not for everyone, and we weed thru several people before finding someone who is motivated enough & is interested in beginning a career with Bankers. ***
Let me get this straight, you weed through people? Again a lie. The only people who are "weeded through" are the ones that die during the first round of interviews. If you have a pulse, you are potentially a Bankers agent. You might give the impression to the mark that you are weeding through candidates, but you and I both know anybody that steps foot in that office will be a Bankers agent, unless they themselves change their mind. It has nothing to do with the manager. Every Bankers office should have the plaque from the Statue of Liberty on it's wall. "Give me your tired, your poor, you huddled masses, and I will make them think this will be a great opportunity."
***Sales is not for everyone. But for some it is a dream job. I'd say yes, beware of scams, ***
The first thing you have said that was the truth. Hear on this messageboard, a Bankers representative says sales isn't for everyone. However, that's not what they make you think during an interview.
***but don't make judgements based on people's online postings about a specific experience with a specific person.***
The problem is these "problems" are NOT just "specific" experiences with "specific" people. These problems of fraud, scams, and deceit are rampant thoughout Bankers. Every company has their problems but I've never seen so many complaints about business, hiring, and sales practices as Bankers.
***This is a nationwide company with over 170 branches. There is no investment to Bankers itself. Insurance sales requires a state license, and Bankers gets nothing out of it. In fact, we reimburse for it after being with us for 6 months. And you take it with you... you'll have it as long as you keep fulfilling the continuing education requirements of the state. So all-in-all, I hope that other people aren't deterred by your experience with one branch of Bankers. I'm telling the truth, are you?***
First of all you're not telling the truth. I am however. As you may have guessed I am a failed Bankers agent. I have since gone on to become a manager at another insurance company. I have seen what went on at my office and I have been in contact with people from other branches who report the same or worse problems. You clearly must not work for Bankers if none of I wrote about has ever happened in you office.
Are there Bankers agents who do the right thing and make money. Yes, there was exactly one in my office. He was by all means successful and without and kind of deceptive practice as far as I'm concerned. Although he had been at it for 5 years.
If you are happy at Bankers. Great. Keep it to yourself, you are not being honest.
To anybody considering Bankers, please take it from me, somebody who has gone on to become a salaried manager at another insurance company, there are way too many other commission sales jobs out there, if that's what you want to do, save your self a massive headache and go look else where.
Thank you so much for this insight. I was going to go to an interview today after being contacted by phone by a recruiter who saw my resume online, but after reading this and other stories I have heard about this company... I would be disgraced and disgusted to work for a company like this. Even if the branch I was going to be interviewed at was not as bad as the ones mentioned here, I still wouldn't go. I don't even want to be associated with this company at all. Thank you for forewarning me about this horrible company!
I'm glad that I researched this company oh I was all gung ho about going on this interview and it's good thing I cancelled my interview.
I am so happy that I decided to google this company thanks for all your helpful reviews I am not considering any employment opportunity with these scam artists!
I have been working at a bankers office for a year now and it is amazing! Yes, it is a 1099 job but i love that! some people are not ready for all the responsibilities that come along with managing your own business. It is what you make of it. you must put it alot of work and effort with this job but honestley with the freedom you have its wounderful! Any other job you would not have as much freedom. At bankers they treat you like family very understanding and kind. I couldn't even think of any other job i could have making better income. I mean minnimum wage is 7.50 per hour with this carrer you make as much money as you want its completley up to you!
On the other hand the hiring is extremely stressful on the recruiters and managers. they treat everyone with respect and are very up front and to the point with their employee's. Before I took this position with bankers i done my researching online and of course i read good things of bankers and bad things. Everyone has their own opinions so this scam stuff almost had me talked out of the job. But life is all about taking chances!
I am so thankful that gave bankers a chance i could not have a better job now!
The numbers they throw at you in the interview are real! i mean really isn't that why you work is to make money? Who is going to take a job without knowing what income is possible, but again it is what you make of it. The harder you work the more money you make! most agents at my branch bring in 2, 000-3, 000 a WEEK! why pass that up.
My message i for anyone who is considering bankers is this: you always have to take chances in life to get somewhere. No everyone is the same so dont judge you'r career on what someone else thinks. i am telling you as a real person and agent of bankers that this company is amazing! it really is a dream job! So go for it!

Failing to live up to contract
My 92 yr old Mother was in perfect health until suffering a TAI in Jan 08. It caused her to move in with us which is fine. I love taking care of my Mother, however, Bankers gave her a long term health care plan in '97 with in home care. Today I called and they said 'not true; only if she is in a nursing home! And then I'd have to pay out of pocket the first 3 months! I want at home assistance and they will not provide and the cost would be less. They have ripped her off, lied to her and taken advantage. I will seek legal counsel and I will seek out the news media to make sure that everyone knows about the snakes called Bankers Life & Casalty. Watch out for them...they just want your money!

Acceptance and then denial
My dad was approved for reimbursement for long term care. We were waiting for the elimination period to end even though we had applied last year and the paperwork was misplaced. on Oct. 21, 2009 we received a denial letter saying my dad was not going to be cognitively impaired for at least 90 days. This is unlikely since my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimers since at least 2008 and the registered nurse evaluated him. He could not answer any of the questions except that the year was 1932. I am disappointed and angry that they would approve and then deny someone who can not put his shoes on the correct foot, wash his face, and use the toilet, and has to be returned by sheriffs and the police when he gets out and gets confused. He must get assistance for all adl's. He cannot get his own meals or shop or drive. This company looks for a way to not pay even if the insured has been insured for at least 6 years of payments. They did not believe the doctors so they sent a nurse to evaluate, "actually to deny" . How sad.. the truth of the matter is Alzheimers strikes every family somewhere on the family tree. They will be humbled when they experience first hand all the stumbling barriers, sadness, scariness, lack of compassion of those not YET touched by this horrible disease.

i belive with this company it is what it is, they need sales and will bring sales in anyway possible and there method of pay dont know if just the office i know but the term keep the rich rich and the poor poor goes into pay after you invest money which is ok you need tool for any job but the turn comes in where the paid staff key word paid! takes 50% of your pay and tells you this is so you can watch and learn the paid staff already gets a 40% over ride so the get 50% of what you bring to the table and the company gives them a 40% over ride which is for teaching younger agents the paid staff use the new agents for turn and burn and take the extra 50% which is in reality to be used between non paid agents for working together. The stress is high they force you into bringing your money to there table and tell you how great it is with the promise of great pay this is a very misleading company not to mention what the do to there clients if you become one the promise of good money and helping others is in everyones heart now take a company that takes that brings you in when your most in need takes advantage of it tells you if your not making enough money then you not loving your family enough.NOT to mention what happens to your bank account and the people you tried to help afterwards...horror story in it self but im taking one thing the office taught me !get ready bankerslife and caus. for the people i helped and the people i saw you crush by taking there hard earned money by having thieves running your company you are going to be held accountable!
Scam
Well let me first say that this company does some nasty things to people. I was called for an interview with this company, so I was of course psyched, I was told it was for a management position, so I promptly show up for my interview, to find out it was with a class of about 20 people and then told it was the 1st step in the interview process, and the...

I have received many threatening voice mails from Stuart Allen & Associates concerning a supposed debt I owe following my departure from Bankers Life and Casualty Company, in Jacksonville FL.
At one point in the past year I attempted to set up a payment plan for this debt for which I have never received proof that I owe...just to get them to stop harassing me, but I was told by the representative at Stuart Allen that she would accept nothing less than payment in full. When I tried to explain that I did not have over $2k in my account to just write a check she instructed me to contact my friends and family to ask them for the money.
By the end of the call she even added a personal note concerning my voice mail message. Being prior service Army, I still have friends fighting in Iraq. At the time a good friend of mine was attempting to reach me from that location so I added a message to him on my voice mail greeting in the event I missed his calls. The Stuart Allen representative began to tell me how she had difficulty reaching me and it appeared that I was screening my calls. She then proceeded to advise me not to screen my calls as it would be a shame to miss a call from my friend while he was fighting in the war. This is just one of the many personally insulting and harassing calls and voice mails that I've received since leaving Bankers Life at the end of 2007.
If anyone has any advice on how to move forward with this situation in a legal ethically sound manner please advice.

Glad I found your posting. I am in KY and am being still being shook down by Bankers for money I do not feel I own them. They sent me an email that doesn't prove anything and would take an forensic accountant to figure out. I didn't want it to go to collections, but now I will try this method. Thanks.
They've been bugging me as well. I also received a threatening letter that they were going to take me to court because I was stealing other agents from their office as wellas clients.
Hiring Practices
I recently received a call from a recruiter from Bankers Life and Casualty, my resume was pulled from Careerbuilder. When I spoke with Amy, I mentioned that I was not interested in a Sales position so therefore, did not want to waste their time or mine. I was then informed that there were more than just Sales positions open and she would like to schedule me for an interview. I agreed to the interview, which was approximately 45 miles from my home. When I arrived I found this was a group interview with 11 other candidates for a Sales Agent. Other positions were available ONLY after you became a Sales agent and fronted almost $600 of your own money to become trained and licensed to sell their insurance. If you have to mislead people to get them in, what does that say about your company?

I don't know, I have a really good buddy that has been with Bankers for about 4 years and is in the 400k range right now. It's like most businesses and you get out what you put in. If you want to make the big money in any business it takes time and money. Most people are looking for a standard pay check with a 9 to 5 schedule and aren't suited for the entrepreneurial life style. I have been looking into Bankers based on my friends success. Like I said 4 years in and 400k isn't bad at all if you ask me, and he now runs his own office. There is opportunity out there, you just have to work hard and seize the moment.
I just got a call this morning for an interview with Bankers Life & Casualty. Similar story here: the call was unsolicited from a "recruiter" whose accent was so terrible I thought the company was "Bankhurst Live & Cash" during the call. I'm totally unqualified to sell any kind of life insurance, but apparently her manager thought I was a good candidate for the job anyway. The recruiter didn't know much about the job, and when I asked her if she thought I was qualified she said "I guess so". If the recruiter doesn't know anything about the job they're recruiting for - how can they honestly assess your qualifications for the position at hand? Needless to say, I was skeptical so I did some more research.
1. They are not a Nationally Accredited BBB company (though there are 5 locally accredited branches in the US - none no where near where I live)
2. It's a group interview... I've been around the block enough to know that group interview = high turnaround/we'll hire almost anyone because we're desperate OR it's a scam.
3. They expect you to pay for your training, up to $600 in licenses + travel, with no compensation. Additionally, when training is over pay is based on 100% commission & they take 50% of that for the first 6 months. That's jakced!
4. They're not honest about where and how they generate their leads. I've come to expect some dishonesty from employers (which is a kind of sad commentary in of its self), but there's a difference of withholding critical company information and treading a barrier of ethical-unethical business practices - it's what has led us to be in the state we're in today.
5. Despite their initial claims of $75k - $100k+ for first year salaries the reality is the average percentage of their agents start at $26k - $28k / year... that is, the ones who can muster the expenses of training and soul sapping.
6. Everyone starts as an Insurance Agent - this means sales. Apparently to advance in the company you need to one: open your own branch or two: advance though your ability to sell (I assume by any means necessary) their policy's.
7. There are more bad reviews/complaints than there is good-honest criticism and complements.
I know this site highlights complaints and criticisms, but I based my conclusion from several different sources on the internet and calls to friends in the investment field.
In short, if you like to hustle people, pimp yourself out, pray upon the desperate, like to feel a like a slime bag or get yelled at all day (from what is essentially cold calling) with little in return - this might be the opportunity for you.
I called back and canceled the interview (had to leave a voice mail, told them no need to return my call).
This is so true! Bankers is a Bunch of Bull! DO NOT GO TO THE INTERVIEW! It is such a waste of time! They are set up in this bootleg office with a little room for the presentation. They sell you pipe dreams because they know so many people are desperate and gulable for a job right now and what they are selling is a bunch of crap! Yes the elderly needs insurance etc. But at what cost. I'm not gonna drive my car around and use my own cell phone to sell they're product. Gas too damn high! And the benefit package they claim they off... lmao! Yeah, it's one that you will have "choice" to purchase amongst the providers they provide for you to choose from. Where they do that at? It is just another smoke screen bootleg pyramid done on a different level. I say screw them!
OMGGG I am sooo glad I saw this! They contacted me this week for an interview. I asked her to explain the position but she did not! The scams that go on, I tell yah
I was emailed by Bankers in August 09 for a job. It all seemed very positive at first. I spent the money for the 52 hours training and another for a prelicense test prep. I admit a failed the California test 2 times before I passed. After notifing them of my passing they wanted me to come in and get started. On the documents, the very first page there is a paragraph that states you are not hired. I inquired about this but and was assured that once my Insurance License came through I would be employed in the mean time I was told that if I made any sales I would get half the commission. I spent my hours on the phone calling Asian and Latinos..I only speak english so few appointments were made. I went to only one appoint with an Agent that made a sale, I was told I would get about $350.00. Since the holidays were coming and my license was being held up in a background investigation I was told to come back when I got my license. I did get my license called them and told to come in after the New Year. When I did come back on January 4th I was told that I was actually not to return due to the long background investigation and they were in the process of hiring someone else. I never did get my money and never returned to the Bankers Office. All this hiring is just getting people to work for them for free.
I'm a little concerned about this too. I got a call from them today. I've been sending out a lot of resumes, but I don't remember this company specifically. I was really excited to get a call so without thinking I accepted the interview. Now, I'm looking into the company and I'm a little concerned. I don't want a sales position and I'm not sure I'm cut out for a commission job. Thanks for the heads up. I'm gonna try to get back in touch with them and find out what's going on.
I received a call today from them today and I didn't remember applying. I am glad I found this site because i was going to have to drive an hour and 45 minutes in one direction just for an interview. Thanks for the info.
OMG ... they just called me for an interview claiming it was Customer service/sales. Then checked into the company. Clicked on the career bar, and only sales appears and it says commision pay. They will give you commisions before you sell ? Does this mean if I can't sell I have to pay it back? So you say group interview? It sounds like Vector Marketing (buy our product and we will let you sell them), or Kirby Vacuum... I am calling them and insisting upon truth before waisting my time and gas. I already have it hard making ends meet. What I read indicates strongly that this is a business opportunity. You can purchase things from them to get your business going, they do provide training, but I am concerned at whose cost.
BBB Status
I have an interview on Wednesday. I don't belive in selling something you wouldn't buy youself. If you think you can live with being associated with this reputation, then go ahead. I'll be calling them tomorrow to cancel.

Home Care Insurance
Last year my mother needed home care for about 7 weeks during cancer treatments. I have had nothing but trouble contacting Bankers in Chicago or the local office in Topeka, Kansas, and getting the correct forms. When I finally was sent the correct forms, a good six months had passed, but I tracked down 25 caregivers to fill out the forms I should have been...

My mother had an annuity with Bankers Life. She died on March 20, 2008.
Trying to collect has been an endurance test and night mare beyond description. I have
made many calls, written numerous letters, sent faxes, and FINALLY
on April 4, 2009, I collected the final payment.
Fortunately, I didn't need the money in a hurry but I think about people who
need to move or have big medical bills after the loss of a loved one. This would
be very inconvenient for them to have to go through.
There are people who would NOT KNOW how to fight for what is rightfully
theirs. There are those who would just give up. NOT ME! I stuck with it.
She had two long term care policies with Bankers and I am so thankful that
we didn't have to try to coll
ect for those. I assume it would have been a nightmare
too.
At the time she took out her three policies, there were two Bankers agents
here in our town. NOW there are none because these men also became disillusioned
with Bankers policies.
BUT finally, my battle is over!

We've had similar experience with helping our parents get their money withdrawn. It took months to get them to recognize my husband and sister-in-law as POA on the various accounts. They finally sent a letter acknowledging the POA but when we tried to withdraw the money, they declined because they said that my sister-in-law wasn't the POA...even when we sent a copy of THEIR letter saying she was. Dealing with them is extremely stressful.
I'm going through the same thing. Calls to them are extremely frustrating, there are no supervisors to talk to and when told a supervisor will call you they never do.
You never get the same story twice as to what is needed to get the money. It's always 20 days for processing but they find an excuse to not give it up and the 20 days processing starts over when you send them what they say they need.
Total scam stay away!
Return of money
Let me start out by saying I have 9 policies with Bankers Life and Casualty. Some are life insurance policies and I had 1 income replacement policy. My husband and I have 2 bank accounts, he is on Social Security Disability his disability check goes into one bank and the other bank is where we have a checking account, well every month I would have to transfer mymoney from the one bank to the other bank to pay on my life insurance policies, so my agent, Julie Griffith in which she is a great. Well we decided to swith everything to come out automatically from my husbands bank account that the disability check goes into. Well Bankers Life and Casualty didn't get the paperwork in time so I received $175.00 plus in fees. So Since January 5th, 2009 I have been fighting to get these fees back. Well Julie, my agent finally go everthing approved after 30 days, so this stupid guy who works at the home office in Indiana, his name is Ryan Hitz told my agent that he was overnighting my check on Thursday, February 5, 2009. I did not receive the check on Friday, Saturday, Monday. I called Julie and told her that the check has not come. She called her boss and they got a hold of the head office, in which this idiot works, and he calls me on Tuesday, Febraury 10, 2009 and tells me that it was tooo late for him to overnight it on Thursday, so he mailed it out on Friday regulary mail. I am so livid, I can't believe that people can be so inconsiderate with other peoples money. I asked him if it was his money he would have wanted ASAP. It's not like its 5 or 10 dollars, you are talking about almost $200.00 plus all the long distance phone calls I am getting charged on my cell phone and home phone and everthing else. I get a call from my agent today, Wednesday, February 11, 2009 she tells me that the check was sent out Friday, February 6, and it was sent to my daughters house. I am even more mad that he would send my check to my daughters house because he was toooo lazy to look up my address. My daughters has a life insurance police in which I am the owner but becasuse she is 19, and does not live with me they had to use her address for her policy, so that was the address that this idiot, Ryan saw first to he just sent the check to her, in which she said that the check still hasn't gotten to her house. I told my agent that this Ryan should be held accountable for his stupidity and not caring about my money. I am really considering changing companies, but my situation is this, we have been with this company for 9 months and my agent is awsome, and if I leave this company she will be the one who loses out. I just want my money and compensated for all the greaf and aggreavation that I have endured. I told Julie that if they are willing to waive my charges for all my insurance policies for next month I will keep them as an insurance agency. I feel like I have really gotten jurked around for 36 days that they have not paid me my money. I want justice. I am going to write everyone I can and tell my story until I have been justified. 175.00 my mother got token for that time ten, just a 88 year old woman money just gone, and the office in germantown wi act just this was no money to the company and its been two years and I tried not to get so up set about it but what i will say is this about thie company RRRRRRUUUUNNNN don't do it put your money in the bank. let the goverment take care of you and your old age..
While there is no excuse for what happened to you, when you change bank accounts, etc. these things take time. This was a terrible error on the part of the home office and rest assured that your agent really took care of you, and now look at how much you trust her. Give it time and see if this was an isolated incident.
Not senior friendly
Bankers Life Insurance has some unscrupulous agents going door to door selling life insurance to seniors. My mother is 74 years old and is easily confused. Anyone who has a ten minute conversation with her can tell. Two agents called my mother and told her they wanted to talk to her about Medicaid. They called and set up a time to talk to her. When they arrived they then explained what they wanted to talk to her about was actually life insurance. She said they were there for over two hours. They finally convinced her their life insurance was better than what she already had, even though the price was $89.00 more per month and the coverage amount was the same as what she had.
To make a long story short, I put a stop on the check she wrote, cancelled the insurance from Bankers and reinstated her old policy.
I tried unsuccessfully to reach someone at Bankers to question them but no one returned my calls until I told them I stopped the check and cancelled the policy, then I got two return calls.
One was from one of the agents who tried to convince me he deals with seniors all the time and my mother was fine and understood everything. I know my mother, she didn't understand any of what they were saying.
I believe they, Bankers, preys on seniors who don't have someone to watch over them. Thank God I am able to check in on my mom often.

sounds like he is signing up for an annuity, Bankers sells life insurance and annuities.
My fiance had a home visit from Bankers Life Insurance. He was told that if he put $50, 000 in their bank he would receive $250.00 in interest every month. He is a senior, 72 years old. He actually believes this. My question is when did this company become a bank? Sounds like a scam to me. I need info before he signs the dotted line. Thank you

Get ready for the run around
My mother suffered a massive stroke in 1975. She is partially paralyzed and is blind on her left side, as well as deaf on her left side. She has no use of her left arm at all. Today it is September 04, 2008. She is still alive and going strong. My mother walks with a supportive brace. In July she was visiting relatives and had a TIA. She fell and broke her good arm, fractured it in fact where she needed surgery. My mother moved in with my wife and I, after my father passed in 2002. After surgery we contacted Banker's. They informed us that with her doctor making the claim, to go ahead and get home healthcare started. We found an assisted care CNA business that sent CNA's to the house to take care of my mother. My mother has been spending $900.00 a week to pay these CNA's. Weeks pass. I began to write and call Banker's. I spoke to an agent who informed me that it would take time to process the forms and that they were waiting for billing. My 70 year old mother began to heal and her good arm was in a stabilizing condition where she had limited use, but still needed a CNA for perry care and hygiene matters, as well as fully clothing herself. My mother use to dress everyday, but now only wears a short nightgown. I call Bankers again asking about payment, they ask about my mother's condition and being the honest guy that I am I tell them that her health is improving. Again I had to wait for payments. Yesterday I get a call from an agent in some office in Chicago who informed me that Baker's feels that my mother's condition wasn't severe enough for them to issue payment compensation. I was informed that my mother had to be in a "catastrophic" state for 90 days before they issue payment for CNA care. And that if I read the Policy that I would've known this. I disagreed and informed them of my mother's past medical history. They never knew she has a massive stroke in 1975, nor a TIA. So now they are sending their nurse to evaluate my mother's condition. So at the moment I feel that my mother and I, who are now out of $6200.00 out of pocket, are fixing to get the "run around" even further.
On the advice of a friend, I decided to look for our state's insurance commissioner office to see if I need to file a formal complaint. I'm also speaking to a health insurance attorney for advice.
Be careful in dealing with these folks. Record all phone conversations with them and document everything. Remember if it’s not on paper it doesn't exist in the eyes of the court and don't forget to date everything too! Even a large yellow notepad, with just dates and incidents can be used in court.
I went online to see if anyone else had problems and I'm glad I went online to read what I found here. It seems like the only way to get things done is to attack them legally. Bankers needs a rewrite in their policy and own up to helping people.
In truth I'm just disappointed... and pissed.

I'd love to see that one who submitted the comment "do your homework first"...and see which of his orifices I could stuff a crowbar. Sounds like one of the current administration who is immune to abuse because they are in power. MY EXPERIENCES HAVE BEEN YOURS EXACTLY...and I had no idea of anything until gaining Power Of Attorney after my father's stroke. First they took forever to evaluate POA...then they told me it takes 30 days to evaluate claim...THEN, THEY EXPECTED ME TO PAY THE PREMIUM (which became due during my dad's stroke) - with the PROBABILITY they would DENY HIM! So, not only did they take advantage of my Dad in selling him this policy but they know they do not have to act because I won't go after them when Legal costs would exceed any benefit...and i'm sure no PUNITIVE damages would be forthcoming unless Class Action. I'M CUTTING MY LOSSES AND CEASING ANY DEALINGS WITH THEM...(I HOPE ALL OF BANKERS' CHOKES ON THE PROFITS!) It's funny how alllllllllll those who were "mislead" during the HOUSING CRISIS got a reprieve for being stupid enough to not understand their Mortgage Terms...and everyone felt sorry for them and welcomed their reprieve and condemned the Banks - BUT WHO IS KNOCKING ON BAKERS' DOOR AND SMACKING THEM "UPSIDE THEIR HEAD"?!
I Would Like To Thank Everyone For The For Warning Of This Company They Schedule Me A Interview For Tommorow But I Will Gladly Pass On It I've Read Nothing But HORRIBLE Things Abt This Company Its One Bad Thing After Another.
My husband took this job and I had a bad feeling about it from the beginning. He has been there for over a month and a half and we haven't seen one penny. We can't pay our bills and now have to move because we haven't seen any money. We have put so much money that we don't/didn't have into this and they said we would get it back in no time. I kept telling my husband from the beginning that his "boss" was just filling him up with false hope and big lies to keep him working for them. Sure enough, I was right. We moved to where this job was, 3 hours away from our home and now that we can't afford our bills we will pretty much be living in our car. This company is a joke and no one should fall for the big numbers they tell you you will be making. We have a 2 year old son and I can't even buy diapers because we haven't seen any money. Almost $500 into this crap and not one single shiny penny. BS
Bankers life and casualty is not apart of the BBB in Michigan...PERIOD! (I checked) Its a huge scam they want money and access to your bank accounts to quote on quote deposit money and remove money as they see fit (read the small print of the contract) be careful. My wife received a call from a women we couldn't even understand I researched this company before hand ...thank god I did...its a pyramids sales scam...you have to pay them money to get trained. NO REAL COMPANY IS GONNA MAKE YOU PAY FOR THEM TO TRAIN YOU...DUHHHHHHH...Dont believe the hype...its all BS.
My daughter has a resume on Monster.com. She is in college, studying photography, and has no interest in insurance, sales or corporate work. Bankers Life got her cell phone number and email and started calling and writing her every day, leaving very sketchy messages that sound conveniently distorted so that you can't tell if its a man or woman calling. All the key words were easy to understand, however all the details were very conveniently distorted. She actually spoke to this person twice and said both times she is not interested. The caller continues to harass her, saying she's "perfect for the job... come see my boss... wear appropriate clothing..." The only words we can ever understand! Somehow they got our home land line number, and have been calling that line to harass her. After searching the phone number [protected]) I found a site - MrNumber.com - with similiar complaints. No respectable, reliable company would behave like this. Their behavior is that of a pharming organization, one that looks for potential scam victims via Monster or Career Builder, etc., then gathers your personal information to steal your ID or steal from you. They do not behave like a legitimate organization. Anyone here saying they are legit obviously doesn't know about the harassment. They do not take the word "no" to mean anything other than "continue to call and harass." My daughter is scared now... are they stalking her? Who is this "boss" and what kind of harm is he capable of? Who knows?! AVOID THEM. And complain, complain, complain. Call the headquarters and complain. They are NOT a legitimate company if they are forcing themselves on people like this.
You have to incorporate to be a part of Arise (fees, time and paperwork). You have to pay for your background check (fees), a fee is taken out of every check (fee), you pay for your own training (fee and time) which is very expensive and nonrefundable and if you change your mind about a program, it counts against you and you are blocked from other programs (fee, time, loss opportunity). If you keep your head low and you stay out of trouble and don’t ask too many questions like, (why did I get pay $22hr with benefits for this same job in the real world and your are paying $7.50hr minus the bi-weekly fee (severely reduced pay) for the same job with NO benefits except, well you get to work from home so this novelty should satisfy you to all ends and justify whatever they want to do with you. You have to scavenger for your work hours; if you don’t show up on time when they put out the scheduled time slots you would be out of work for that week or have to constantly monitor the schedules hoping that someone lets something go(loss opportunity). When you add up the fees, time, paperwork, and loss of opportunities you might as well find another work at home company or work for McDonalds.
the people at bankers are deceitful. i received a call from bankers insurance last week, requesting me to come in for an interview because i had sent them a copy of my resume. i thought that was kind of fishy because i don't remember sending my resume to any insurance company. i figured since they called me i could go in for an interview to see what they have to say. so i go into the office today (6/28/10), pick up the two copies that were being handed out and went into the meeting room where i am puzzled to see a group of people waiting. the first sheet is for my personal information and when i began to read the second sheet, it dawned on me that they needed sales people. to make sure i was reading this correctly, i went to the receptionist and asked her if this was strictly for sales positions and she said yes. i told her that i am not a sales person, i have no skills at sales and feel uncomfortable doing any type of sales. she talked me into staying to see what the meeting was about. i asked her about filling the first sheet out and she said i could hold onto it until after the meeting until i have decided. so i went back to the meeting room and sat down.
there were approximately 10 people in the room. no one knew anyone else and there was an extremely uncomfortable silence prevalent in the room. no one offered to come in to have an informal chat, to ask us our names, nothing.
finally, about 2 minutes before 4pm, a guy with greased back hair and an ill fitting suit walks into the room with an extremely arrogant air about him. he announces that he is going to pick up the personal information sheets and people just start handing him their sheets. he comes to me and i told him that i was told that i could wait until after the meeting. because i refused to give him my personal information right there, he kicked me out of the meeting.
there are many things wrong with: 1) getting people's resumes off internet sites that have nothing to do with insurance sales; 2) telling you that the company wants to conduct a job interview with you; 3) finding out it isn't a job interview but a sales pitch; 4) demanding personal information from you before they tell you about themselves.
this company is, in one word, unethical.
if you work for bankers, you have been duped to work for them in order for them (bankers) to scam people out of their hard earned savings.
It's amazing how people always want to make "excusses" and blame everyone but themselves. Sales is hard, life is hard. There is no magic career out there where you are handed a six figure salary. Ask any succesfull business person if they complained about leads, or complained about investing time and money in their business? It's always someones else fault, noboby gave me what I needed right? If you go online to a blog to make your carrer choices, Bankers isnt for you. Take it from a Bankers Agent in Delaware who has been making a great living for five year since I was 20 years old. I'm not real right? Am I a scam? This is my life. And I would love to see where these people are now?
I've been getting the same calls from Banker's regarding setting up an interview. I'm not quite sure how they figured that a Licensed Massotherapist would be either qualified for or interested in selling insurance. I know the company is technically legit, but since my mother had several policies with them (annuities, life insurance, and LTC insurance), I had the not-so-pleasurable experience of dealing with them after she passed away. It took me well over a year to get all the policies paid out (and yes we had read all the fine print on each policy). The annuities were pretty straight forward, but all I ever got on the LTC policy was massive run around and excuses. It's funny that, within one month of turning it over to an attorney, they sent the check out immediately. I will never deal with these people again if I can help it. It's just not worth the aggravation.
Posted my resume on Monster on a Sunday afternoon, and Monday morning I get a call from an insurance agency in Concord, NH who sought me out for my "sales" experience and "impressive" education (in unrelated fields). Excited about getting a hit after being unemployed for months, I agreed to attend a meet-and-greet later that week. Came online to research the company, and quickly changed my mind when I typed in "Bankers Life and Casualty" in the search bar and "scam" automatically displayed as a frequent search. Thanks for saving my time and efforts!
It's true they are crooks
I worked for BKC for two years, I personally saw or hear every excuse possible made to clients when it came time to get benefits paid. I emailed, sent registered mail, got home office people names and supervisor's assurances, things were being handled.
Ya, you guessed it, it dragged on, and on.
You name the excuse, the clients heard it. It took the insurance commissioner to get one client paid and LTC claim. I personally know a client that is currently getting the run-a-round about getting his LTC policy paid that he has been paying on for 15 years. It's been 9 weeks and still no money, even when the client has a two week elimination period. A field manager stated, "You pay the first two weeks, and then Bankers pays." Well, the money has run out, the help had to let go and Bankers is still reviewing the case! I could write more, but it almost too much to be true... One word - Beware!

On October 10th I had a brain scan at Silver Cross at 7 am. Everything went well at the test, I have been trying to get my results since that date. I call and they are telling me that I NEVER had the test but Bankers did pay for the test! So what is the truth?
I’d lump them in the insurance mlms. I was looking on indeed. Bankers life contacted me and set up an interview.
I went to the 1st interview thinking it would be a normal style interview. I was lead into a room where a bunch of other people were also waiting for an interview. The room was filled with 70” TVs and iPads and other expensive electronics and prizes.
They talked about the job to all of us which mostly focused on all the sales insensitives surrounding us that were so much they had to store them there and free vacations for top earners and how he just got a 50k bonus check from the company.
At the end they had us take quiz/survey type things that tell how good you’d be at the job and what kind of sales person you’d be.
For the second interview I was told I “aced the test”...I’m sure now everyone did. The second interview didn’t want to know anything about me or my work history. It was just them asking me for my questions so they could brag while answering them.
Then I got a 3rd interview where I was told they’d love to have me. But my license wasn’t enough. I ended up paying out of my pocket for their online company and product specific training.
Once I paid for and completed that I started working. I was an independent contractor with no wages or PTO or benefits. Yet I was required to be In The office cold calling people from 745 am to 4 pm but couldn’t leave at 4 pm without a speech about how I can’t succeed And am not dedicated enough if I don’t stay late (keep in mind I had a baby at home and was not an employee I was an independent contractor with no w4 and no compensation or overtime for paying late pick-up fees to do so at the daycare and not being home with my baby)
I also had to pay monthly fees to use their office supplies since I wasn’t an employee even though I was literally required to be there and use their stuff.
I noticed all the big expensive prizes were gone and then noticed it was empty boxes kept in a back closet and carried to the interview room for their presentations where they then told interviews that they had so many prizes and insentives that they had no choice but to store them in the conference/ interview room.
They started asking if I knew anyone else that would want to get their license and join. They wanted me to make a list of family and friends in the job market so they could reach out.
I made $45 in a month there and spent more than that to start. Not to mention all the gas from forcing me to spend my nights and weekends driving to a town 2 hours away to cold door knock with no pay since. And the you’re not trying hard enough or dedicated enough speech for the 2 days I couldn’t drive to the town 2 hours away for cold door knocking sales because I didn’t have the gas money because there was no paychecks and I had to buy diapers for the baby. And the list of addresses was from some database of all people in that zip code over the age of 65.
They target the elderly in lower income areas with fixed incomes trying to talk them into buying or switching insurance. It’s a bait and switch. I had to read from a script saying that there have been changes to their Medicare and to start suggesting appointment times to come drop off their information about it until either they finally agreed to a time or hung up. There was never any changes to their Medicare. We had to say that to scare them to get our foot in the door and once at their house start trying to talk them into buying life insurance and stuff that had nothing to do with their Medicare.
On April 3, 2019 I had an agent run to meet me, as he forgot about the appt he had with me earlier in the day that I had to work my schedule around.
John Dotson the Bankers Life agent finally showed up, and tried to be all buddy-buddy with me as I am a retired/disabled veteran, and he supposedly served in the Army. I was looking for a new Life Insurance policy, as my VGLI policy was going to double in price in May.
He asked all the normal questions, told me I would never qualify for anything but a life policy for $99, 999. It would cost me $167.43 monthly, but I could increase it to $400k in 6 mos without having to go through a medical exam, and wouldn’t need a medical exam for this current policy. I signed the paperwork, wrote the check but after he left I began to doubt my decision.
I contacted him the next day telling him I wanted to cancel the policy completely, as why would I want to cancel a $400k policy at $268 monthly for a $99, 999 policy at $167.43 monthly. He then sent me an e-mail telling me he could insure me at $400k for $242.02 monthly if I could pass the medical exam. I never answered.
On April 11 I received a denial of coverage letter dated 9 Apr 2019 from Bankers Life. This meant that John did not cancel the policy as I asked, but I have no idea why they would deny me. On April 12 the check was cashed and I was out $167.43. I contacted John, and he said he had told me even if I cancelled, they would still process the 1st payment, but I would be reimbursed in a few days. I’m not simple minded, and he never informed me of this, not during the visit, not when I spoke with him to cancel, and not on the paperwork he left with me.
I have contacted him twice more asking where my money is, and he just keeps saying he’ll check on it, but never gets back to me. I finally got ahold of the customer service after being given the wrong number, sent to another insurance agency and getting put on hold only to speak to another rep 3 times. I was informed that they started processing my refund on 10 Apr, even before the check cleared my account, and that it would take 15 business days to process it, and then a check would be mailed to me. I am only at 12 days right now, but I am beyond frustrated!
I was lied to through the whole process and now have to contact the main headquarters to have the letter changed from a denial to a cancellation.
I was cold called continually by this company, had a meeting with two other agents who where supposed to get me in touch with someone who could work my specific health issue to get a policy. They dropped the ball, well actually, the one agent quit right after the visit, and I made the mistake of scheduling with this “special” agent. Thankfully I had the sense to cancel this policy immediately, but the company is a SCAM! They don’t care about you, they care about the money! Don’t fall for it!
This company is a scam. I inquired about life insurance and the agent Deanna Jenkins has no idea what she was talking about. She couldn't even answer questions my wife and I had. On top of her harassing phone calls. Why would we buy life insurance through someone so uneducated. After researching it ourselves we found this company is a joke.
My 75 year old parents have been paying $204.00 a month since 2003, beleiving they could get home modifications when they needed it (the only bathrooms are upstairs). I filed the initial claim March 15, they have stalled until April 26, when they said the claim was approved, and the check was in the mail. April 27, they sent a letter saying the claim could not be processed until they recieved the actual bill for the lift, the policy does not state costs are to be incured out-of-pocket, my parents do not have $3000.00 up front and the medical suply company will not bill. They have been robbed!
I contacted BLC on 7-21-16 to cancel my life insurance policy. I was told by Annecia to return entire policy along with cash surrender form that was emailed to me. I faxed form the same day and followed up with a call to verify receipt. I was told it took 24 hours for them to verify. I told the person that I told that in 24 hours, I would be at a family reunion and would not be able to confirm. Mind you, I told the person I was at the library and that I was going to call back after I faxed it. On the same day, I mailed the policy and added the feature for someone to sign for it. After all, I could not copy the entire policy. On 7-30-16, I checked the tracking and no one had signed for it. On 8-1-16, I called BLC and Ann Marie told me there was no such tracking number. I told her that I was on the website as we were speaking and looking at the tracking number on the form. She tried to get Smart by saying she doesn't work for the post office (duh). I am full aware of that ma'am, but you are not understanding what I'm saying. The item is at the post office awaiting for someone to pick it up and sign for it. Then, she says, the company never received my fax. Now, I am upset because I followed up the same day, but was told I had to wait 24 hours. We end the conversation by she agreeing to call me back before 8-3-16 to provide an update. She called back 8-2-16 and left a message. I immediately returned the call. I get another person in customer service who has a language barrier and hard to understand. I told her that I was not going to repeat my story beginning from July 21st as Ann Marie was familiar with it, which is why I'm asking for her. Ann Marie was on another call and told the person she would call me back. She said the company had the policy but not the cash surrender value form, ok. Go figure. Now, we are back to square one. I told her to send me another form and I would return it. She says oh, you can fax it. No, I'm not. You claim that you didn't get the first one and I'm not going to pay you $3.00 to have it faxed again. I nicely told her, "I don't like you all like that". I will mail it. Does it look like I am stupid, I don't think so! I told her that I would be making a complaint online, so this should not be a surprise when it is read. I will wait to see how long it takes to get my surrender cash value money back.
In my opinion, this company is worthless, incompetent and unprofessional. I question their practices. I think the fax was inadvertently picked up by someone who did not have the decency to confess they did. It happens to all people who work with lots of paperwork. All it takes, is to say we messed up, misplaced it or lost it.
If you have dealings with this company, take your money and run!
You may endure lots of stress in the end if you don't!
To whom it may concern: back in march or qpril of 2016 i purchase a life insurance from a couple of agents, who seemed very honest, and i believe they were. Since i never got my policy, i double checked by status, they said i did not qualify, no reason why. My sister is in worse condition and they qualified her. Anyway, my money is still being pulled from my bank account, for no reason at all. I would like to have my money replaced back asap, before i have to do something we will both regret. My bank will replace it as soon as you make it avai lable. Please do so, quickly. My bank is first national bank of texas, located at all walmart stores. Never got a policy or policy @ will be awaiting your response thank you mrs. Agedita munguia:lopez; asa aggie lopez
the first time I interviewed with this company I turned down the position because the manager that did the interview was full of himself, on the second time I went back I took the job because I wanted to be in the insurance industry. the leads they give you ARE OLD AND OUTDATED, they are at least 1 year old, I called some of the leads and the customers had already passed away, or they had insurance already for the past year, when I left the put charge backs on my account by recontracting my clients, this company is a total scam and one day they will get sued or loose their license for the deceitful practices they do, They only promote their white counterparts, there are no Black managers in their office when more than half of the employees are black. need I say anymore.DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY
I too used to work for Bankers Life making phone calls to have people come in for an interview which actually is a group meeting. Bankers Life doesn't care who they hire it could be charles manson for all they care, if people come in for a group meeting then the recruiter who called that person and talked them into coming in for a meeting will get $20 a person who shows up. Bankers Life could care less if you succeed or not its about numbers and dollar signs of who they can lure in to work for this sleeze company. There are recruiters who have been and still are with Bankers Life for over 10yrs who get the best Resumes and the other recruiters get the crappy recycled Resumes, they favor some who have been there the longest and they make sure that person will make the most money while others ))(*#&%ing struggle. I hate Bankers Life tney are so unprofessional, unethical
An agent sold my Mom a policy when she was a few months shy of turning 85. I told the agent about her health problems. I never called anyone from Bakers Life about any product. I was amde the owner. I did not know this until I applied for Medicaid for my Mom. Michael Kenney claims I contacted him about a policy for my Mom. Now I pay the $433.00 a month cost, and Medicaid considers the first 3 years she paid a gifgt to me. So, I pay monthly, and she is penalized for paying the first 3 years. Thanks Mike!
