Only for super beautiful people
So if you are not super beautiful like a top model then this site is not for you! I joined www.beautifulpeople.com and uploaded my best picture and got only 40% from the voters! Then I uploaded another picture and the same thing happened. So these people decided that I wasn't good enough to be a part of their world. Very sad. Then I decided to look at their members. All the ladies looked the same, all that fake hair, tons of make up, short dresses and etc. Guys were very unattractive. Just a bunch of ugly looking people with big money. Ridiculous.
Shallow
What a horrible concept. Beauty is only skin deep, right? Not according to this website. I did an experiment. I submitted a photo that literally stacks of people said was amazing and, within 3 minutes was inundated with 'absolutely nots'. How to kill someone's self esteem in one fell swoop. Happy to get away from that bunch of narcissists. As the song goes..."forget the haters, cause somebody loves ya"!

I am writing to complain about Beautiful People.com
I was abused on email by a male member called Steve Jabba and he then in turn made a complaint about me because I had no interest in getting to know him as he had such a misogynist profile that did nothing but abuse women and as he was such an arrogant person I told him I wasn't interested, he then started emailing me back with abuse so we argued and then because of his shattered male ego he reported me and BP removed me from the site without even contacting me. This was 11 days ago. I contacted BP to complain about him and spoke to someone called Mia, who took about a day to even respond a pre composed email, I've been emailing consistently for 10 days and nobody responds, email trail below. I rang the press and pr department who apparantly had no number for anyone else at BP, I'm now calling the head office in Denmark and have been on hold for about 15 mins, I will contact trading services and call HQ in NY if this isn's resolved ASAP today

To be honest, I would rather receive a refund and not use your site anymore, I'm really annoyed about this whole situation that you just remove my profile without even contacting me and now I've had a week that I haven't been able to use your site and have had to send numerous emails, really not impressed by this

Avoid this website at all costs
At first I didn't understand the appeal of beautifulpeople.com. Then I went on and used numerous pictures of very attractive women from other dating sites and posted them there and made fake profiles and got accepted with all. What I found out is amazing. For one, the main reason people go on beautifulpeople has nothing to do with looks but everything to do ego. They are stoking their own. The majority of the members are so insecure and unconfident about themselves it's amazing. You have people from all walks of life and professions and many of them are what they say they are. One was a surgeon, who provided pictures of himself in the operating room - a very handsome man. But he was so insecure about his sexuality and so limited in his social skills that I found it hard to even have a normal conversation with him. Another guy, also very handsome, sent a lot of benign messages to me but after a while he started trying to pump me for information on what I thought about his looks as if that was more important than character. Even the one guy who I though was a halfway decent character started sending me messages indicating that he wanted me to talk dirty to him. Similiar incidents like this happened over and over and over again with other guys.
And forget about the women. The majority are so low class they're slightly a step up from porn star material - and that's only slightly. There are a lot more women with class on sites like zoosk and match than on beautifulpeople. At least they are real and down to earth. The majority of women on beautiful people, no matter their age, are embarrasingly crass. Seeing a 60 year old women who is trying to be something she is not - half naked in an attempt to be sexy is soooo not sexy. It's funny and embarassing. Almost all the women, no matter their age, with the exception of maybe 2, had pictures in various states of undress. There was not one girl who had that healthy girl next door look. All were trying to be something they were not and the majority had professionally touched up pictures to boot. That goes for a lot of the men too. Overall, that's how I would describe beautifulpeople. The biggest flaw of beautifulpeople however is that unless you live in an urban area you would be hard pressed to meet anyone in your area. But after what I have found out about the shallow superficial members, why would you want to? .
Really guys? Really?
I love how much people hate and complain about the website for not being accepted into the "community." I'm sure you'd have no problem with the website if you had been accepted. Anyway, I'm here to complain about the complainers. What were you doing applying to the website in the first place? You were probably looking for an attractive person to chat up. Curious as to whether you are considered beautiful? I don't know what your reason for even going to the website may have been, but for me it was curiosity that got the best of me. I'm a black-haired, brown, almond-eyed Mexican American, and I easily got "in". I have been told my whole life I was very beautiful, but that never stopped me from knowing what was really important. I graduated from high school my class Valedictorian, got a full paid scholarship to my undergraduate university and the best medical school in Texas, and then when I changed my mind about the direction I wanted my life to go in, I pursed graduate school and am now working on a PhD in the Biology of Aging. I guess not all of us are empty, fake, air-headed shells of vanity and narcissism. :)
@ TruthIsNowTold:
That's it? Really? That's all you have? Boring? I'm boring? Hahahaha...okay...someone doesn't like to hear the truth. Too bad. I was looking for some better fun than this. Now I'm bored. I wonder if it is it possible to cancel my profile on this site because it is completely useless. You're nothing but a damn whiny idiot. Get a life. You have over a thousand cumulative comments and complaints - feels great to log onto a website and complain your woes away, huh? Maybe if you weren't such a whiny little ###, more people would like you, and you wouldn't have to complain about everything under the sun. MAYBE if you would quit being a fake [censored] and accept the reality that life isn't fair, you'd be able to get by a little better. Maybe you aren't even an ugly person on the outside, but that sniveling little twerp of a person you are on the inside makes everyone despise you the moment they meet you. I don't know a single thing about you, but from your stupidity and annoying attitude, I can already see your necessity for a website like this. It makes me sad for you. You will never like yourself even though you pretend you do. And I should be ashamed of myself For a latina? You, my friend, sound like a closet racist.
Watch out people! TruthIsNowTold is posting some SCAM ALERTS! Oh my goodness! Don't even read this posting of mine because I'm a SCAM TOO! Just stop reading now!
TruthIsNowTold, you're pathetic. You should find something better to do than complain about everything you come across, and for all that is good in the world, stop with the fake crusades to end injustice. They're your crutch and for no one's benefit but your own. I will not be talking to you anymore because you're just not worth my time now. I thought maybe, just maybe, you'd be willing to listen to both sides of the story, but you're not. You dismissed it immediately, which is how I knew immediately what a fake person you were. You're just as shallow and narrow-minded as all the people you call shallow and narrow-minded. I'll give you this much, though... it made for a good laugh, but like you said, now it's just boring. GOOD BYE and Good riddance! :) Try to enjoy the rest of your life as difficult as it may be.
@ The Exposer-Revealer:
Yes I do LOVE what was posted in response. I enjoy a good debate and a chance to analyze, reason, and argue.
Please do explain how what I said is nonsense? I defended myself as a person saying that I am more than an empty, fake, air-headed narcissistic, blah blah blah... You think just because I'm easy on the eyes, it is okay for me to be attacked because I got membership to a website? No, it isn't, is it? What is so wrong with admitting the truth as to why people are so upset with this website? They complain that they got rejected and then proceed to talk trash about it just to make themselves feel better. This is just as bad as enjoying the website because it goes undisputed due to people thinking there is a legitimate reason to be attacking the website. They label the complaint of the website a righteous cause, "No more discrimination, this isn't right, blah blah blah..." Yet they were so willing and eager to become a part of that community, and only upon learning that they were not going to get the chance to get in and rate other people themselves, did they have a problem with it...
Anyone who supports the site's practices is a DISCRIMINATOR themselves. - then why did they apply for membership?
By they, I am referring to the people complaining about the website and the discrimination that comes from the website... you know, just to clarify :)
@ TruthIsNowTold:
I'm a realist. I'm not here to make anyone feel better about themselves. I do believe some people are better than other people. That's just a damn fact of life. That's why the world has turned to crap - by telling everyone they are all the same when it is in fact not true. If a stupid, lazy person is told they're at the same level as a smart, hard-working individual, what makes him want to even bother to try to make himself a better, more productive person. He already thinks he's just as good. Well, I'm sorry, but that's not the case. AND, yes I do think I'm better than A LOT of people because I make sure I am. There is an intrinsic value in me that allows me to empathize and reach out to make people's lives better - to buy the poor hobo on the side of the road some food because no matter what choices he made in life, he's hungry and he should eat instead of being looked down upon and ignored. I am fully aware that people aren't all inherently good, and it has nothing to do with how beautiful or ugly they are. I posted this complaint not because people were attacking the website. I could care less about the site. I posted it because of all the underlying accusation that anyone who is beautiful has nothing more going for them...a sad excuse to make an ugly person feel better about themselves. What makes it okay for the people that get rejected to criticize the people that got accepted. That in itself is discrimination, but it's okay because it's justified?
So, in response to, "YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE BETTER THAN THE REST OF US..." - Yes, I believe that I'm better than a lot of people because I am...
"BASIC COMMON SENSE" - I have plenty of common sense...thank you :)
PEOPLE DON'T HATE THE SITE - Yes they do...the hurt from rejection causes ubiquitous resentment that extends over everything they feel caused their distress
People Hate: THE DISCRIMINATION THAT'S ON THE SITE - No they don't. They wanted to be part of it, but didn't make the cut.
Anyone who supports the site's practices is a DISCRIMINATOR themselves. - then why did they apply for membership?

Catfight!
buddy's mother-in-law brought home $20956 a month ago. she is making cash on the laptop and moved in a $391600 condo. All she did was get lucky and put into work the tips explained on this web page migre.me/8P1hl
Was curious so I made a profile and was voted In, then deleted my profile. I think I'm pretty normal looking so I don't know, I just wanted to see what would happen. I'm not saying I completely agree what this site represents, but it may work for some people.
I don't really get this website
I have always been somewhat of a head turner in my university. When I walk in a room, both guys and girls stare, point and whisper (at the expense of my comfort). Yet when I uploaded one of my photos as an experiment, I got voted out within a minute with a lot of "absolutely not"s.
I don't really get this website. I browsed through a few profile with extremely average looking people. Does beautifulpeople.com have some kinda of out-of-this-world standards or something?
I don't really know, I was curious about it so I made a profile and uploaded a pic and they voted me in and I feel like I'm quite average looking. I deleted my profile obviously since it was just an experiment for me, but I saw extremely airbrushed photos of women (to the point of looking like overinflated barbie dolls), average looking girls and some slightly above average looking girls. And the guys? I don't think I saw one guy that was overly handsome, just normal really. I have no clue, I guess it depends on who's voting at what time. Either way, it's quite an odd concept.
Website packed with beautiful transgenders, fake profiles, gay men impersonating women
Website packed with beautiful transgenders, fake profiles, gay men impersonating women. I received spams from some profiles. It is pricey for the service. Website is in fact totally dead since they imposed high rates. No women ever pay for a subscription and it is logical. Now the number of female profiles dropped.
I've only been on the site as a member for less than a month and I've not really been active but I've already had a paid female member contact me and she is legit. You also have to remember that they get you to confirm your account by making you take a photo with a piece of paper stating the today's date. This removes the likelihood of fake accounts, although it won't remove the transgender issue but c'mon can't you tell anyway (and if you can't does it really matter?).
I think it's horses for courses, each person's experience will vary. But I think on the whole from my experience and from what it looks like on the website it's seem legit and I'd highly recommend it over E-Harmony, Match and Plenty of Fish.
People was just another classic example of how beauty is subjective
I deleted my profile after only being in the probationary period for around 3 hours. I had had a few good votes but had just slipped into the out section. I think the thing that bothered me the most about the website was the spelling mistakes and the poor grammar. There is a most definate type of "beautiful person" on this which is so not my type. I didn't see one person I wanted to message. Not enough scruffy beardy types for my liking! Beautiful People was just another classic example of how beauty is subjective. I mean who really fancies these absolute fannys anyways? :P
Stay away from these crooks
I only heard of this site after hearing an interview where a person involved in running this site basically advised applicants to post professional or airbrushed photos. I found this strange that you were supposedly voting on beauty through images that in reality do not exist. Having looked at some of the photos on this site the amount of them that were so obviously airbrushed was amazing that one would ask the question if these people were so confident in their own appearance why bother altering their image. In real life you cannot change the lighting to show yourself in the best light nor can you airbrush the features that you want to alter or change. I decided to submit an altered webcam photo with no makeup applied except lipgloss and some concealer as expected I was deemed ugly but i did take some small comfort from the rejection that 36 members voted positively. Was i hurt by those who voted negatively of course it has an impact but when i thought about it, I am probably more confidant and successful than they are so no it did not affect me at all. I wish the media would stop giving the founders of this website airtime to spread their vile unrealistic message and to stop printing their own press release like when they said they had removed members who had put on some weight, as a person involved in business this was so obvious a pr stunt but unfortunately it has worked in their favor.
In essence I have no problem with the concept of this site if people want to join so be it but I do have a problem on judgment being passed by those who alter their photos.
In reality I think most people who be far more interested in the likes of Bill Gates as opposed to some of these enhanced beautiful people.
Beautifulpeople.com is intellectually and culturally barren. An impressive congregation of vain, shallow, narrow-minded, narcissistic individuals.
Website packed with beautiful transgenders, fake profiles, gay men impersonating women. I received spams from some profiles. It is pricey for the service. Website is in fact totally dead since they imposed high rates. No women ever pay for a subscription and it is logical. Now the number of female profiles dropped.
It's a fake site - yes there are probably a few idiots who fell for it, but the whole thing was pre-programmed from every aspect before launch. Doesn't that make you feel all warm and comfy inside?
I feel sorry for the people who are accepted to the site, I would want to be rejected haha...
Basically they should have a disclaimer:
"Please only apply if you are a athletic blonde Caucasian with air brushed photos who is totally vain, loves them self and needs that verified"
Actually from all the profiles I've looked at most people seem quite successful and intelligent, a number of people running their own business. Now it's debateable whether you see someone like Katie Price (aka Jordan) or Kim Kardashian as intelligent or successful but in my eyes, anyone who can create a value out of little to nothing and market that globally, I'd see as successful.
There is also science to back this up that good-looking people tend to perform better due to the fact that people are attracted to or aspire to be around them.
In any event - I think it's a great site and much cheaper and better quality (and safeguards such as confirming you are a real person by taking a photo of yourself with today's date written on a piece of paper in front of you - of course this can be faked but it makes it harder!).
a majority of the people that put themselves out on those sites have gone from highschool to the real world and realize they arent in the lime light anymore. therefore, they post the best possible picture of themselves to keep themselves reassured that they "hot stuff". most of the people are fake and if it wasnt for their looks, they wouldnt have anything.
just remember, looks arent everything. you will go further with, what is probably a normal look?, and the smarts that you have. brushed photos, ya, they may look good, but they are as fake as the person in them. you should be happy that you got judged for you, and not what you "could be" in a perfect setting. the ones that downgraded you are the ones that wanted to see fake and are usually dumb as bricks
unauthorised charges
Be aware of this website. Their voting process is a pure scam! Do not give them your credit card details. They will charge you £1.29 and after you get thru the voting process will steal another £30.99. This charge is not clearly stated in their terms and conditions or during the payment process. BE AWARE!
It does mention repeat billing but no information about the cost! I sent them a copy of their terms and conditions and asked them to highlight the information about the cost of their membership and I never got a reply! I have reported an unauthorised charge in the bank and I also submitted a fraud report.
On this site which is run by the UK government: https://reportfraud.actionfraud.org.uk/FraudReport/Account.mvc/LogOn?ReturnUrl=%2fFraudReport%2fSurvey.mvc%2fWelcome
I do feel like the site could have some better qualities
I heard about the site and applied, I was accepted. So I'm not sour over not getting in. But I do feel like the site could have some better qualities. The interface isn't very "beautiful" and the site always runs slow. It's hard to connect with other members in comparison to the ease of connection you get with a site like facebook. When I want to invite people to an event, it's much harder then it would be on facebook. All in all, beautifulpeople.com has a cold feeling to it and I would prefer a regular dating site/networking site over it any day.
I love how much people hate the website for not being accepted into the "community." I'm a black-haired, brown, almond-eyed Mexican American, and I easily got "in".
