I got Professional Liability from Berkshire Hathaway on August 27
I got Professional Liability from Berkshire Hathaway on August 27. The policy starts the next day, and they charged my card right away for $47.31. On September 29, they charged me again for $47.34. I canceled the policy on September 30. They sent me something, and I called them to let them know I canceled in Sept. 2021. One of the reps told me to ignore it. Then on Nov 28, 2021, they sent me a prorate rate that I owe them, more than their fee. This company isn't good for insurance. The billing isn't right, and there will be issues when it comes to claiming. I'm glad I canceled with them. I questioned many times why I had to pay for something I don't insure. They kept telling me it's my prorating. If I don't pay an extra $16.35, they'll send me to collections. I hope they get rich for stealing people's money.

March 22, 2022 I wanna talk about this insurance company called Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance
March 22, 2022
I wanna talk about this insurance company called Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance. So, I got this travel protection thingy back in 2020 for my vacation in October at Westgate Resorts. You know, with all the Covid-19 stuff happening, the government put a bunch of rules on travel to try and stop the spread of the virus.
So, I had this policy number *** and my trip reservation number was ***. I thought I was all covered and protected, you know? But when all those travel restrictions came into play, I was like, "Uh-oh, what now?"
Well, let me tell you, Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance really came through for me. They were on top of things and handled everything like pros. They understood the situation and made sure I was taken care of.
I gotta say, I was pretty worried about my vacation and all the money I had spent on it. But thanks to Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, I didn't have to stress too much. They reimbursed me for all the expenses I had already paid, like my hotel and flights.
I was impressed with how smoothly everything went. The process was simple and straightforward. I just had to provide some documentation and they took care of the rest. It was a relief to have such a reliable insurance company on my side.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance to anyone looking for travel protection. They really came through for me during a tough time, and I'm grateful for that. So, if you're planning a trip and want some peace of mind, give them a try. You won't be disappointed.
Thanks for reading!
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
I had a car accident on 12/08/2022 around 11:35 am
I had a car accident on 12/08/2022 around 11:35 am. The driver who hit me was driving a company vehicle. I called to make a new claim on 12/08/2022 and called again on 12/09/2022 to ask why I haven't received an email about my claim. I found out that my claim was closed in less than 24 hours after I filed it. Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance doesn't seem interested in covering the damage caused by their insured driver.
I bought a cruise from *** (Oct
I bought a cruise from *** (Oct. - Dec, 2020) and got insurance from Berkshire Hathaway. *** canceled the cruise 'cause of COVID19 and gave me back all my money. But Berkshire Hathaway won't give me back the $1,251.00 I paid 'em and just offers a 2-year credit instead. 'Cause of my health issues, I might not be able to go on any trip later on.

Before my trip to ***, we decided to get travel health insurance
Before my trip to ***, we decided to get travel health insurance. While I was in ***, I had to go to the hospital. I submitted all the necessary documents as requested. However, now Berkshire is asking for letters from the airline stating that I traveled, which is really hard to obtain. I already provided them with my airline ticket information and billing receipts. The same thing is happening with my main insurance provider. Berkshire is making unreasonable demands from my US insurance provider. The claim number with Berkshire is ***.
I bought travel insurance from Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance and I have a claim that's still open
I bought travel insurance from Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance and I have a claim that's still open. I've been trying to file a claim for the inconvenience I faced during my trip. I got the policy in June and unfortunately, everything at my resort and the nearby city closed because of COVID-19. It was out of my control, but I had to cut my trip short and fly back home. Restaurants, golf courses, gyms, spas, and even pools were closed during the day, which was really inconvenient. Thankfully, my policy covers up to $1,000 for trip inconveniences.
On 10/3, I bought this travel insurance thingy from Travelex for me and my buddy
On 10/3, I bought this travel insurance thingy from Travelex for me and my buddy. Berkshire Hathaway was the one handling the policy. I decided to splurge on the "Cancel for any reason" add-on. Our trip was all set for 12/22. But guess what? Kandi got turned away at the airport 'cause American Airlines didn't like her passport, and I got denied entry to *** 'cause my Coved test was expired or something. So, I did what any normal person would do and filed a claim on 1/5/2022. But guess what again? They denied it on 2/3/2022. It's like they tricked me or something. Not cool, man.
I bought a Businessowners Insurance Policy from Biberk Business Insurance, which is a Berkshire Hathaway Company, back in 2019
I bought a Businessowners Insurance Policy from Biberk Business Insurance, which is a Berkshire Hathaway Company, back in 2019. I needed coverage for a specific job during that year. I only purchased this coverage for that one job, and I made sure to inform the licensed sales agent about it. However, for the past 2 years, the company has been charging me monthly for insurance coverage that I didn't know I still had and am not using. I recently spoke to someone at Biberk about this issue, but they responded negatively and didn't offer any help. I would like a full refund for the past 2 years of being billed.
I bought this insurance for my trip on 5/21 with 3 travelers
I bought this insurance for my trip on 5/21 with 3 travelers. I booked it through some other app and the airline won't talk to me about getting any money back or credits. They denied my claim because the airline canceled, which is why I got the insurance in the first place. When I tried to rebook using the "flight credit" from the app, they wanted to charge me an extra $200 per ticket for canceling, or they offered a partial refund of $550.00 per ticket. But I missed out on that because I was waiting for a decision from this insurance. I started my claim on 5/19, the same day I found out about the cancellation, and they denied it on 12/1.
I bought Travelx on 08/22, but it's insured by Birkshire Hathway Specialty Ins (BHSI)
I bought Travelx on 08/22, but it's insured by Birkshire Hathway Specialty Ins (BHSI). I filed a claim for trip interruption because when I arrived at ***, . airport on 08/22, I discovered that *** which operates there has been closed for 18 months. American Airlines offered the next flight, but I would have missed the tour that I had booked. BHSI denied my claim because they said it was our fault for leaving and going home. I checked BHSI policies and after doing some research, I found that this was definitely a trip interruption, and it doesn't mention anything about what happens if an airline doesn't do business at airports. The total cost of the trip was $1365.09, plus the loss of the tour which was $3137.84. Today, I am fighting for a refund of $4502.93.
I've been with Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance through Goosehead Insurance for about 4 years now
I've been with Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance through Goosehead Insurance for about 4 years now. Unfortunately, I experienced my first accident at home that required some serious repairs. This happened around 8 months ago in February. Surprisingly, the issue still hasn't been fixed. I have a huge hole in my wall and ceiling due to water damage, and no one has come to fix it since they patched up the outside back in May or June. Now that we're heading into Fall and Winter, I won't have any heat because these repairs are preventing me from turning on my heater when the time comes. I've been in a constant battle between Berkshire, Goosehead, and *** to find a solution, but none of the three parties have been able to help me resolve this matter. I've exhausted all my options and I'm desperately in need of these repairs before it gets colder. I've attached the only pictures I have at the moment.
We bought traveler's insurance from Vacation Guard by Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (Policy: ***)
We bought traveler's insurance from Vacation Guard by Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (Policy: ***). My trip to *** in DEC-2020 got canceled 'cause my company decided to shut down. But then, surprise surprise, when the time came, they changed their minds and wanted us to keep working. They asked me to postpone my trip to next year and cover extra shifts too. So, I filled out a claim for Vacation Guard by Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, 'cause they said they cover trip cancellations due to work. But guess what? They said work-related reasons ain't acceptable for cancellation. Can you believe it?
And that's not all. We got a letter saying our fancy resort vacation in *** got canceled 'cause of those darn COVID restrictions from the World Travel Organization for Europe. Now me and my wife are out almost $3000. Can't catch a break, I tell ya.
I called on 5/27/22 to change my policy and increase the coverage limits
I called on 5/27/22 to change my policy and increase the coverage limits. They sent me a notification on 5/31 saying they hadn't received the information about the address change. I forwarded the email I sent on 5/27/22 to them. I called on 6/1 to make sure both changes were done. They said the higher limits were done, but they were still working on the address change. On 6/2, I got calls from two different employees who said the higher limits were done and the address change would be completed by 6/6. I called at 8:45 am on 6/3 to confirm that the higher limits were endorsed. They said there was no record of the request. They were supposed to expedite it and have it done within an hour. A supervisor was supposed to call me back by 10 am. At 10:05 am, I called again and was told that underwriting was working on it and it would be done in less than 30 minutes. At 11:35 am, I called again and was hung up on by someone named *** when I insisted on speaking with a supervisor. I called back right away and spoke with ***, who said that underwriting would get to it when they could. I've made 9 calls and they still haven't completed the endorsement. This is causing a delay in my office move, and I will lose my deposit on the movers. I might have to switch moving companies and pay a higher rate, as well as another month of rent in my current office space. I want them to reimburse me for the month's rent ($639) and any additional moving costs that arise because of their delay in completing the endorsement. Their staff is not doing their job properly.
I bought insurance for a festival ticket in ***, ***, set for May
I bought insurance for a festival ticket in ***, ***, set for May . Sadly, due to not enough staff at work, I couldn't attend. I filed a claim with this insurance company since I now live in ***, and the event was in another state. I spoke with a representative right away when I knew I couldn't make it, and she said she documented it. A few weeks passed, and I heard nothing. I called again and was asked if I filled out forms. I said no because I wasn't sent anything or told to do so. The new representative sent me the right forms and instructions to file a claim. I completed everything and sent all the requested documents. However, I didn't hear back even though I was told it might take about a week. I called again, and they said it was escalated, but still no response. I called once more and spoke with someone who gave me the adjuster's phone number. I called the adjuster for a whole week, leaving many voicemails, but no call back. A week later, I called again, and my case was escalated once more. Still nothing. I called again, and this time the rep transferred me to another adjuster, but it went straight to voicemail. I left a message on *** voicemail, but she never returned it. I feel like I've been scammed. I called once more before contacting ComplaintsBoard.com and told them someone needs to reach out before I contact ComplaintsBoard.com. Nothing happened, and no one called. I've reached my limit. This company hasn't responded or tried to contact me to update me on my claim. I want a resolution and a refund for my ticket since I did all the work to get it. This company is a scam. They take people's money and don't provide coverage when it's needed. Also, I received a letter shortly after filing, which I attached, and that's why I called for the third time. How can they say I didn't respond when no one reached out? I sent in all the necessary documents and more.
aims examiner at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance is taking an awfully long time to process my claim
aims examiner at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance is taking an awfully long time to process my claim. I bought travel insurance from Travelex for my trip to ***, but unfortunately, I had to cancel due to unexpected health issues. I had some tests done before my trip, and it turns out I needed open heart surgery. I had no clue that anything was wrong, just felt tired. So, I filed a claim with Travelex on 3-7-2022, and it's been a whopping 12 weeks, and still no decision from them.
First, they asked for some claim forms and documents, which I promptly filled out and sent back. But then, they hit me with a surprise request for my medical records from the *** Care, Cardiologist, and Surgeon. They wanted a whole bunch of documents, and I had to scramble to gather them all. I thought that would speed things up, but nope! Every time I submit a new document, they start the whole 6-week process all over again. It's like a never-ending cycle.
Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, I found out that the cardiologist's records they received were blank! Can you believe it? I had to quickly email them the correct document, and now they're telling me it's going to be another 6 weeks for them to review everything. It's beyond frustrating.
I want to make it clear that the insurance company handling my claim is Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance. You can reach them at *** or call ***. My claims examiner's name is ***. I hope they get their act together and finally make a decision on my claim. It's been a long and exhausting process, and I just want it to be resolved already.
