READ THE FOLLOW MESSAGE SENT TO BIKEBERRY, WHICH THEY BASICALLY ARE IGNORING - ORDER # BB - 334573 Micargi Rover 24 Purchased 7-19-23:
Bikeberry,
On July 19th 2023 I purchased a bike from your company. Due to assorted problems on behalf of both the Micargi company and Bikeberry, it is still lying in pieces, in my way, on my small living room floor. These are the issues:
1. The bike I received is not the one shown in the photo on the website – it is a different color of paint, has different looking tires, and has different decals. I eventually received only a partial explanation of how it happened that the image shown for sale is not what I received, and I see that the same photo is still shown for this bike. I agreed to accept this disappointing change for a $50 refund, so this one issue was somewhat resolved.
2. At the time I was considering which bike to purchase, a Bikeberry representative assured me that assembly on my end would not be a problem and that there would be helpful videos. But it has been a huge problem and neither the videos nor the booklet provide clear assembly instructions for this particular model and the videos are several years old. Bikeberry rep Freddie kindly helped me to work on assembly through chat, which was awkward, but it still could not be assembled due to two issues:
A. spacer washers - it is unclear just what these are and if this bike model requires them or not. The booklet states that they are only needed for models with a “tubular fork”, which I think this bike has, but I am not sure. Neither the booklet nor the videos show a clear image of what these spacer washers are – perhaps they are the ovoid pieces with the little prong to fit in the holes on each side of the end of the fork – but I am not sure. So, I need to know if this model requires them, and of so, are they these ovoid pronged pieces or something else, and if they are something else then I didn't get them and still need them. Micargi offered a $50 discount for them expecting me to get them myself, but I still don't even know for sure what they are, or if I can get them in the extremely remote location where I live. If they are just regular washers I probably could, but I need to know just what they are and their size first.
B. gobs of welding material – there are metallic lumps left from manufacturing that were not smoothed out sufficiently to allow for the arm of the front fender to clear over them and align in its proper position for attachment; so the front fender CANNOT be attached. The bike looks ridiculous with a back fender and not a front fender, and getting wet and dirty from a lack of fenders is a huge drawback and, once again, not the bike I ordered and paid for in full at time of purchase. So, I need either a different frame, or to return the bike for a full refund requiring a prepaid shipping label to be sent to me and I will somehow manage to repack this bike and return it for a full refund, or a substantial refund for doing without the fenders and getting dirty and wet, and if you want the fenders back I would need a
prepaid return shipping label sent to me.
At this time I am disgusted with this whole experience and don't care to ever lay eyes on the bike, Micargi, or Bikeberry ever again. The short summer where I live is almost over, and signs of autumn and the swift arrival of our long, brutal winter are showing. I should have been out riding my bike for weeks now during our lovely summer time, rather than tripping over it on my living room floor. I should not have had to wait and plead for assistance as I have had to do. My preferred choice now is just to return the bike for a full refund. But I am still willing to work with Bikeberry IF THEY WILL RESPOND TO ME IN A TIMELY AND FULLY ASSISTIVE MATTER TO RESOLVE ALL ISSUES involved in this fiasco ASAP. Thank you for your full cooperation and assistance in a timely and thorough resolve of these matters as detailed in boldface above.
Desired outcome: Full refund, prepaid return shipping label.
