Outstanding balance
I decided to use Billshark to lower my AT&T wireless bill. This was finalized on November 17, 2022. But then I got a message saying that I have an outstanding balance for $100 with Billshark. I’m very confused. Why am I being billed? I used Billshark to lower my bill, but now I have an extra $100 outstanding balance that I have to pay. I don’t have money. I’m very limited financially, and cannot afford this bill at all. I used Billshark to lower my bill, not add to it. I can’t afford this. I can hardly afford my rent and phone bill, let alone anything else. I can’t pay this bill within the necessary time frame.
Desired outcome: Waived payment, reduction of balance, or extended period for a month out in which to pay the bill.

"lowering" my internet bill
Signed up for Billshark through Acorns around 11/18/18. Uploaded my already low internet bill as it was the only one I had that qualified. I have never once made a late payment on the account since I opened it in October 2017. Billshark shows my "old" monthly rate and my "new" monthly rate as being exactly the same as they've always been. Yet they are claiming to have gotten me a "credit" for $194 in late fees and trying to charge me $77 for doing so! I had NO "overdue balance"! So much for no risk involved! I can't even figure out how to call the company to have them fix this or cancel my account!
bill lowering service
Billshark changed my service contract with Verizon Fios to lower my bills. It resulted in a lowering of my service tiers. Then they wanted a chance to fix the problem and I told them NO! They went into my account anyway and changed things without my permission. They are now billing me for over $500 for supposed savings.
I have shown them my bills, filled a complaint with the BBB in their HQ hometown and now they have the "Collection Army, " coming after me in 30 days. They have not responded to my complaint, nor communicated with me by any means except email.

Very good communications first off but this is more of an issue with myself not reading the fine print. BillShark did get me savings on three bills I provided them and the overall saving I will receive will be close to $1000 over two years.
Bill shark takes 50 percent of the first year savings and a little less if there is a 2nd year contract. So I owe Bill shark almost $500 right now and they offer a service to spread the payments over 6 months with an additional charge.
All-in-all what this service did anyone can do on their own and save even more money.

I recently tried out a mobile-app by Billshark, who promises to save money on your monthly bills through negotiation.
I used the service in December, but it took an awful long time to get a hold of a team member at Billshark.
While I was happy with the actual service they provide, I would expect their customer service to improve as it seems this business just recently launched.
