I had a reliable ADT system for many years and last March a Brinks rep showed up at my door offering a better deal, which, of course, turned not to be true. I only armed the system twice that first 30 days or so and both times got false alarms. Law Enforcement even showed up both times. Both times I called tech support and both times they had no idea what happened or how to fix it. How can I possibly depend on what is clearly a very unreliable system? No matter who I called, no matter how many letters sent in, they continue to bill me, now threatening collection agencies and credit score damage. I completely removed and disabled the system in April and I detached the unit from the power supply and the antennae. But during my last call, in June, they said they were still receiving signal! I was stunned they would outright lie like that, but they did. They do not seem to understand how customer service works as they continue to refuse to cancel. I had already blocked my credit card from any additional automatic withdrawals. I am so mad at Brinks it is unbelievable. They are a predatory company in that they piggybacked on all the existing door and window sensors, the power supply and the antennae. It did not take very long to install it, but I didn't realize what was going on. They misled me about the need for an amazon account, which I do not have. I was never advised having such an account was preferred. I had no idea that the cameras were not part of the Brinks system, as it is a 3rd party system that is not connected at all to the wall panel.
My account # is [protected]. If a customer is not happy with service why do they, Brinks, insist on collecting monthly fees for a non-existent service, that now I would never have, as it is proven to simply not work. I do not want them near my house. They collected the first to months of payment for a servce that did not last 45 days.
Desired outcome: I would like Brinks to drop their demands for payment. That is it. I do not want to have to go to small claims court or get an attorney to stop their harassment.
