Wow awesome
I had similar experience to top reviewer. How annoying everyone wants my account username and password to my BANK. Thanks but no thanks ... it’s very easy to replace this with a recurring income that I control. Same goes for any monthly expense. Easy to just set it and work with your own budget. How lazy do these other apps think we are?
Before this I used Kakebo, which forces you to write down the expenses of the day which is what you want but it gets tedious for recurring expenses you need (mortgage, loans, etc..).
What I like a lot too is how you can sync with family members so my partner and I share our budget. She can put in expenses and so can I. It syncs if you get pro account which is cool.
Anyway thanks for making this. I downloaded 8 apps to survey the budgeting field - only this one knows what it’s doing lol it’s a lesson to aspiring entrepreneurs everywhere!
Obsessed
I LOVE this app. Its super user friendly, modern and cute! I paid for the lifetime premium and I’m so happy I did. I love how you can change and customize different categories, make an unlimited amount of categories, can use emojis instead of the standard things provided, and I like the different colors you can choose from for your theme. Some things I don’t like is that you cannot change the order of the bills, I prefer to have my bills organized in terms of xyz bill $100, abc bill $200, efg bill $300, etc. But the system chooses the order for you. Its not a big deal but just kind of annoying to me. I also do not like how you cannot change the order of the sections. For example, mine defaults to Bills, Lifestyle and Savings. I’d prefer to be able to choose the order myself, again not a big deal but kind of annoying. Other than that, I’m very pleased with the app and love using it!
Stolen
This app is not what it seem .. I couldn’t do anything plus they took $17.09 out my account when it say it was a free trail and wouldn’t be charged so I was like okay I need help trying to save my money . So imma try this free trail … March 12th i aggressive for the couple days free trail but soon as I did it , it was was a transaction for $17.09 coming from my account. ! It was bad enough that I couldn’t get past the next page had to clear out the entire app .. and couldn’t enter anything … so I went and cancelled my subscription asap ! That SAME DAY! But it said my cancel date will be today March 19, 2023 … And no I haven’t received my $17.09 back into my account.. so guys be real careful about these apps we just have to learn to save on our own .. this is a scam And they have a contact writing on their page but try to click on it… It will not load cause it’s NO CONTACT Funny but not funny
Do not buy! Zero communication from developer, who took $50 without providing services!
This app at first seemed great, exactly what my wife and I had been looking for in an expense tracker. It worked well for the first few days, so we signed up for the annual $50 subscription.
A week later the apps on each of our phones were no longer syncing. We tried our own troubleshooting without any affect. We reached out to the developer and haven’t heard a word. This app is MASSIVELY bugged.
We spent a significant amount of time setting up a sizable budget on the app, but now we have no way at all of even accessing our previous accounts with that data. I tried to sign up for the seven day free trial of the premium features, which my wife had previously done, and was immediately charged the $50, same day, without any access at all to the premium features.
This app is a borderline scam and should be removed from the App Store. We are in the process of getting refunds with Apple, for the $100 we wasted on this.
Stay away! A sheet of paper and keeping a stack of receipts is better than this!
Great app, could be even better
I’ve been using this app for about a month and am enjoying it. There’s two things I would change to make it even better.
1) When charging against a savings account (meaning entering an expense that pulls from that account), do not decrease the amount I have remaining to spend for the month. All of my planned income and expenses are tied to my checking account. Therefore it is not logical to lower my amount available to spend based on a charge against a savings account (which is often used for unplanned emergencies).
2) On the ‘Remaining’ tab for budget, show the actual amount remaining in each category rather than Spent / Budgeted. I need to know at a glance how much I can spend in specific categories for the remainder of the pay period, rather than how much I’ve already spent. ‘Spent’ could be an additional budget tab if people would also like to know this amount.
Otherwise, I have no complaints. It took a little while to get my Categories all set up, but once I did, adding transactions became a breeze.
Highly recommend this app. With the above two changes, it easily gets 5 stars from me.
I’ve been looking for an app like this for a long time!
It does EXACTLY what I want except… I wish the rollover (which is a feature you don’t have to use if you don’t want to!) was by category so that I can “save up” in certain categories almost like a savings account. For example, I want to have a budget of $50 for gifts that would rollover to the next period so I have $100 the next period. This would help for things like birthdays and holidays!
Also the transferring money between accounts is bit confusing. For example, I used a credit card to pay for several things, then eventually I’ll use the money in my checking to pay the card. This can be done as a transfer between accounts, but a transfer requires a category (when all the transactions have already been accounted for in their respective categories!) Maybe an option set as “paying off a card” that doesn’t affect the budget itself? Because it’s not existing debt, but debt accumulated that period. Am I making sense?
Regardless, I love this app and even if I have to do something manually, it’s superior to other apps, and the free version is not limiting at all! I’m considering upgrading to the paid version.
Needs improvements
This app needs many improvements.
1. When I return an item to a store, the only way to indicate that is through income. That’s the only way to add money into your account. But that inaccurately makes your income to expense ratio different because it looks like I’m making more income than I’m actually making.
2. All my transactions are lining up with my bank account, yet my balance is ALWAYS lower in Buddy, by a few hundred sometimes.
3. In order to “finish setting up my account” (I purchased premium unlimited) I have to add another user. I’m a single household.
4. When I try to pull up the calendar when adding an expense at a later time than the day I made the transaction, the app won’t allow me to select the date I want. So I end up having to hit the back or forward errors until I get to the date I want to use.
I only purchased the app because I knew others who were using it (although they didn’t recommend it). Had I known all these inconveniences, I would have just kept Mint. It’s free and I’m my opinion, much more convenient on how it allows you to sync all your accounts and see real time balances and transactions.
Missing Features
I was looking for a free or cheaper alternative from YNAB and decided to give this app a try. I have to say I do love the UI of this app. I like that you can color code all of your categories and overall it looks very polished.
I also like manually adding transactions. If you don’t, this app probably isn’t for you. I like being hands on with my budget and manually tracking it helps a lot.
The downside is YNAB has some features that make budgeting so much easier that this app is lacking. I have only been playing with the app for a short time but so far I see no option to move money around. For example, if I budget $50 towards clothing and only spend $30, I don’t see an easy way to move the extra $20 to a different category.
I also don’t see an option to make funds. I like this feature to help keep me on track with my goals.
There seems to be no option to do a split transaction either. If I go to one store and buy items from multiple categories I have to make a transaction for each category, rather than one transaction with split categories.
The app itself isn’t bad. And if I wanted to I could spend more time and try to make it work. If it had these features I would make the switch because it’s very visually pleasing. For the extra $2, I will probably go back to YNAB for the features that make budgeting quicker and easier for me.

2 does not make for 3
Well..I stoped cold after it said I can create 3 categories in the trial yet after creating 2 is said no more allowed...if the app can’t subtract from 3 properly I can’t image what it will do subtracting when I enter expenses..so I gave up and rated it..

There are too many lags
Considering it’s high annual price, it’s disappointing the number of lags that are within the app. Also, the most recent update changed the addition button which i don’t find very helpful, you should be able to add something on any of the pages. As of now, we won’t be renewing next year

Need Tutorial, No direct Customer Support!
Does alot, but very cluttered and complicated to navigate!
I am very computer savy. Has taken me 3 days+ to set it up, make budgets, sync 3 phones, scratch my head, etc., and I’m still not done! Aargh!
Looks like it will serve our needs well, once I figure out what the designer was thinking!

BAD UX DESIGN
Haven’t even started, still trying to register, it’s saying that my email is already registered, but I cannot remember my password, trying to reset it and there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to do it. There is no “forgot your password” link. Please fix this and your registration process. It’s frustrating! Thank you!

Good layout but slightly confusing
The apps layout is good. I use the free version and it’s fine (haven’t actually gotten to put it into full use yet) however as far as where to put the money for the different categories it is VERY confusing. And it’s not explained very well on how to do it. I can look it up and hope that somebody gives a tutorial on how exactly to use this app, but the directions should be far more clear.

It’s ok and that’s it
It’s an ok app that needs more features to receive a raving review from me. I bought the “premium” subscription, but it’s honestly nothing extra from the free version besides having more than one budget. I’d list what I want/am looking for, but those would be good ideas for free lol. As a ui/ux designer myself, I think I’m going to set aside some time to just create a budgeting app I can use for myself.

$5 a month for unsynced categories
Usually budget apps support budgets that are synced across multiple apps.
This one purports to do so and charges you $5 a month for their “premium” version...
How does that not include categories syncing across accounts when using the same budget?! The whole point of being able to share a budget is to budget together. If you see totally separate categories from the people you share the budget with it makes it useless.

Overview balance incorrect
If I have a balance at the end of the month, it should be applied to the next month. When I try to pay my rent on the first of the month, my balance is negative even when my actual spending balance, when using money from the previous months balance, is positive.
With the new account feature, my spending accounts should show in my overview. If my spending account show positive $500, why is my overview now showing the same amount?

Sadly you have to upgrade to to get what you lost in the beginning
Would of advice don’t remove the icons that are there as once you remove you will Be Made TO PAY FOR THE UPGRADE TO GET THEM BACK so don’t remove just leave them alone if you don’t need them as I made the mistake and remove them and when I needed to add I was FORCED TO UPGRADE TO PUT THEM BACK ON well guess what you will not get my money nor my word of mouth for this company, as it just backfired. So the jokes on you. So nope would NOT recommend getting this app. Thank you very much and have a very nice day!

Would like refund
I downloaded and bought annual premium because I thought I could track bill splits, which the app does, but not in the way I needed. Each user who split the bill needs to create an account and actively participate. I’m not going to ask my friends to create an account because this is more for my own personal tracking. I wish I could indicate bill splits on behalf of other users. As someone who always pays the bill and splits it among 3 other people, this is app unfortunately is useless to me for the time being. UI looks awesome though!

Where’s the continuity??
Okay I’m VERY confused here.
Last night I created an account on my iPad with my google email
I loaded ALLLLLL of these expenses and info and today I’m trying to access via my iPhone and my log in credentials don’t work. So I went ahead and tried the sign up with Apple option on my iPad, however, the SAME Apple ID populates NONE of the data I spent hours curating last night on my iPad. What’s the problem with this app? It’s making me want to cancel the subscription and delete the entire app. This should be a seamless transition here

STILL Unable to Create an Account
I seem to be running into a glitch where I’m unable to actually create an account with my Apple ID to sync my data. I bought the premium version after the free trial, so it should be linked to my Apple account - but it keeps saying the account doesn’t exist! Super frustrating, especially when everything else about the app is spectacular!
EDIT: This bug STILL won’t let me crate an account. I’ve tried clearing my data, uninstalling (which also clears my data because I can’t make an account), literally everything. No developer response. I give up. If anyone can get this to work, more power to you. Guess it’s back to drawing board for me.
