I have been shopping at Superstore for about 20 years. The recent price hikes are unacceptable. The bakery dept used to sell 24 packs of buns for $5. It is still $5 but you only get 18? That is a 25% price hike. This is just one of many items. The price of meat is outrageous. Very unhappy customer!
Desired outcome: Lower prices to the actual inflation rate
Real Canadian Superstore - I am complaining about the checkout station and clerk
My horrible experience with your check out system. A customer in front of me talked on and on to the clerk. then finally after paying moved to the end of the isle and started packing her groceries. The clerk started to put my order through sending them onto the other side. I HATE this system.
I had to go to the other side to start packing my order, the clerk then told me the amount of my order and made me feel like I had to pay immediately before finishing packing my order. So I had to come around from the other side pay and go back around and finish. I am 72 years old and find this unacceptable.
I told the clerk I hate this store. Her reply to me was "well you could go to a different store". I could not believe her attitude. My reply was she should not be saying that. Her reply was "well you are putting down where I work". NEWS TO HER: If I don't shop there she may not get a pay check. Especially if others follow me.
The next customer behind me started talking to the clerk(before I was finished paying and trying to find my credit card which I had out but put away while trying to find my optimal card. Frustrated at this time I hear from the customer how this clerk is working hard and has to put up with the crazies. This comment really hurt my feelings and more words between me and this customer took place. I complained to the manager who was as useless as could be. He thought he was in control but really just irritated me more. At the end he finally said he was sorry. I don't think he had a clue of how the clerk (2022/03/13)( Deborah 264) had spoken to me. My comment to him was that I would not shop there again and when he finally said I am sorry MY comment to him was"No you're not". Perhaps times have changed the customer does not have a right to express their concerns to the clerk. Truly I believe I am part of your payroll because without customers there is no store. Real Canadian Superstore - Cashier at self-checkout.
The incident occurred on March 12, 2019. The checkout time on my receipt is 14:43:18. I was in the process of scanning my first item (lean ground beef) when the self-checkout cashier came rushing over to me saying "no, no, no". There was a 30% discount on the meat and she proceeded to tell me how to enter the discount. I appreciated the help but I did not feel she should have approached me in the manner she did. I then resumed scanning other items but I noticed that she was watching me. It was when I was scanning six chocolate milk (.10 each) that she approached me a second time and looked at the screen. I asked her if there was a problem. She pretended that she was looking at the price of the milk. I told her that I knew she was watching me and it was then she mentioned that she didn't think I had scanned all the milk cartons. I showed her the six cartons in the shopping bag as well as counting out six cartons on the screen. She told me that she was just doing her job. She then told me in a smart mouth manner that perhaps she should not have shown me how to process the discount on the beef and therefore I would not have received the discount. I finished scanning, bagging and paid for my groceries. As I walked past her I told her that I was going to speak to the store manager. I had a friend with me and she witnessed the entire exchange.
I then went to customer service and asked to speak to the store manager. I spoke to Ken Bye and basically told him what I have just written here. I did mention to Ken that although the cashier was Indian that it was not a race issue. I have an Indian daughter-in-law and an Indo-Canadian granddaughter. I was so upset at being made to feel like a thief that I neglected to pay for two magazines. Fortunately I noticed them on the seat of the grocery cart and I immediately paid for them at customer service. I do the majority of my shopping at the Superstore in Mission. I have never encountered an employee as rude as the cashier I had the misfortune to interact with today. My email address is: [protected]@hotmail. ca
