I have been shopping at the Canadian Superstore in Nanaimo British Columbia the past several months. I have noticed upon shopping at other grocery stores that the cashier is completely clean the whole belt at each cash register before the customer puts a new set of groceries down. I've noticed a lot of covid related infections have come out of several superstore in british columbia. Do you not think that each cashier should be completely cleaning the belt before a new customer puts the groceries on? I've also noticed the parking lot at the nanaimo natural drive store is filthy garbage everywhere dirty masks blowing around the store does not seem especially clean during this time of covid.

Real Canadian Superstore - Covid protical
The Superstore in Nanaimo is not taking protical for Covid seriously. None of the grocery belts or key pads for payment are cleaned after each customer. There is only hand sanitizer at the door, can't find any around the store. This is not satisfactory. All other grocery stores have sanitization bottles all through there stores. Some have security. Costco has sanitizer all through the store plus wipes. All other stores have at least one person cleaning carts in plain view. The Super store there is no one there cleaning carts, they leave a table with spray and paper towels and leave it up to the customers.
Desired outcome: Better protical
I agree that they don't clean anything and today the short haired, short in stature grey haired woman refused to put my money back in my hand. She never said hello to me or smiled or acknowledged me while she rang my things through. She slammed my coin back on the counter. I asked her to put it in my hand and she abruptly said, "no, I don't put money back in anyone's hand because of covd". I then asked, if I paid you with a debit card would you put it back in my hand? She replied a loud, No! none of us put anything back in peoples hands. By this time she moved away from me and began serving another customer. She really pushed my buttons so I said, "I have news for you. There is no covid virus". She yelled out while serving the next customer and without any eye contact. "Don't talk to me about covid. That's inappropriate". I then said, then don't YOU talk about covid unless you are ready to hear someone else's reply about it. She denied that she said anything about covid. I told her that she did! That she said she didn't put my change back in my hand because of covid.
This is a hostile person that I've seen treat others like this here in Nanaimo in 2020. The majority of people are (I believe) good hearted humans, however there is a very small percentage of people that are not good - bad seeds and they enjoy dehumanizing others. She is one of them! She needs to be fired. I can't understand why she's still allowed to work with people. I'm still waiting for a call back from Greg the manager. I thank God for Danielle. She's a clerk that has served me many times and she listened with empathy and understanding as I was leaving the store.
I hope Greg writes the other one up. I hope she has other complaints so that they have a reason to let her go.
The Superstore in Nanaimo, Canada you might as well call it the NO mask required protocol store. I was amazed and could not believe the amount of people not wearing masks. I asked a man who works there and he told me he didn't want to deal with those people. One nice cashier said she was stressed dealing with those people and she is unable to to say something. As of today I will no longer shop there. No mask one less customer! Shame on you Superstore
Real Canadian Superstore - produce
I am wondering why superstore isn't carrying many canadian apples. You always had ambrosia apples pretty much year round. I asked the produce guy and he said they were buying more american. We finally got some in and they are crappy dented marked up and spongy felt like old stock. They are not our usual ambrosia apples. I think the produce has been crappy and expensive at our store. I hardly shop at superstore any more. The meat stinks like freezer burn they keep the meat too long and it's gross. I'm not sure who's managing or owns the store but it's not good. Also my optimum points disappeared from online shopping and so did my account so I stopped doing online shopping.
Real Canadian Superstore - an employee tried to rip us off our change from a hundred dollar today.
We were shopping at the Nanaimo store today at 3 pm. Our groceries totalled $65.42. We paid with a $100 bill. Somehow she swayed our attention and did not give us the change, nor did she give us the receipt. When we got back to our vehicle and unloaded our groceries, my husband clued in to this mistake and immediately ran back into the store and went to the cashier. She asked if we had our receipt. He said "NO" you didn't give it to me. She said "OH" is this it? It was on the floor under the till. She did not blink twice and immediately gave him back the change. Seems like she was blatantly trying to rip him off. The cashiers name is Valerie. (239) She should be repremanded for this. Has this happened with this particular clerk before? Keep your eyes on her. We are a very low income family and this unacceptable.
Low income or not this is unacceptable. They obviously hired a thief and it n needed to be reported asap. That's how you get bad clerks terminated. Thanks for putting her name out here. I will remember that one.
I agree with Smashey. Stop jumping to conclusions so quickly. It's very disgraceful how you named her and her username when you absolutely have no proof. Entitled you! The more responsible thing to do is to let management know.
