I bought a bed on layaway Took me 6 months to pay it off. They ask if I drive because the headboard was not in. All these months headboard should have been in. I paid for delivery but no headboard and ask me if I can pick it up. Why should I as I paid for delivery. Still waiting for headboard and my bed was delivered the 1 Dec. Will never buy anything there and recommend my friends to go elsewhere
Surplus Discount Furniture & Mattress Warehouse - Customer service/management: company owes me a refund
I bought a bedroom set in October 2019, and the saleswoman accidentally overcharged me. I asked the manager to credit my credit card to reimburse me. Instead, I received a long drawn out reason why they couldn't credit my Mastercard because of the worry of fraudulent identity. I asked for them to send me a cheque or email money transfer, again something that couldn't be accommodated as a "signature is needed". I offered to scan a document waiver accepting responsibility, but apparently there is no ability to refund customers for their billing mistakes unless you drive to the store and do the transaction there.
George the owner/manager has turned his employee mistake in to my problem, since I have not been able to physically come in to the store to get the refund, he perceives this is my issue. Strangely enough he offered to drop off merchandize that is roughly equal to the amount owed in the form of art (something I took offense to), but he can't credit my account even though he owes my money.
Be careful with this company as George, the management, and salespeople have poor customer service, yet they feel that it is not a problem that they can't do a credit refund over the phone (to the credit card). In comparison, I bought a mattress from Leon's and I was quickly credited a refund to my Mastercard when the mattress I bought was exchanged (I had to get a different mattress that was less expensive). Leon's didn't make me drive to the store, and waste my time, and gas to complete a simple business transaction.
I would recommend you go to Leons and you will have no trouble at all with refunds/return or credit. Stay away from Surplus Furniture
