Called the charge back department about 2 amazon purchases from three weeks before that had never arrived out of 7 purchases. I believe i was talking to the morning shift and i was asking for a credit that was due to me for the missing amount . Amazon had hang up the phone on me and going on the coffee break the other two times the before representatives did not have any information on how to get my money back if i would get my money or if there is a supervisor the calling back because there was never any available.
So i had to wait to talk to the cia bc chargeback supervisor which took 25 minutes. The gentleman that came on the phone was at the montreal call center. He had an accent of french that was not from Quebec and was incredibly difficult to understand. He was also a very incredibly rude person his resolution was for me to call the police on amazon because the bank does not run around helping customers if they willingly gave the bank card and receive nothing for the purchase. He said it's a police issue. I was very confused because cibc had already credited me for one transaction but not the other. I pressed him for more information and if i could get somebody to call me back. He was eager to disconnect me and i asked him for his name and he said no no no i won't argue with you then hang up the phone. I kept my composure and i was pretty shocked. Remember him also saying that i was supposed to call amazon and they would refund me on their own which is completely contrary to what the multiple cibc representative told me. I just remember his voice was incredibly nasty like he had hate towards me before he got on the phone. A couple of days later reviewing the transaction i discovered i had made two political donations before and in between the amazon transactions and came to the conclusion he was retaliating. Upon talking to the bank ombudsman they told me that that particular employee would be sanctioned but he had sent off basically a blank letter to the back office instead of asking me for detailed information. This is what happens when you hire people with foreign credentials. Unprofessionalism at the finest
Desired outcome: I will switch banks. Thanks.
