Customer service
I had an issue about a duplicate membership from BJ wholesale. After 3 months and multiple calls we still have not received the credit for$55.00 duplicate charge. All customer service agents were asian descent with terrible customer service skills. When asked to speak to an American, I got an Asian person with less accent. I have many Asian friends who can express themselves much better. I am cancelling the mastercard for this reason . This is only a $55.00 charge. I would hate to see how they would handle something big. Felt good shredding this card. I can use any credit card at BJ wholesale and will renew membership in person!
Desired outcome: Charge removed from my credit statement
Reward points redemption
My husband has had this Capital One card since, I believe, 2008 or 2009. He had not used the card recently. He received notification that the card was going to be cancelled due to not being used. He called and asked about redeeming the points that had accured. He had approximately 16,800.00 points. The card was reactivated so he could redeem his points. He called and was told that if the card was used to purchase hotels or air fare that he would be able to redeem $1.00 per point.
The card was used to make 3 transactions for hotels on 5/2/2023 & 5/22/2023. When the bill was received he called to redeem his points and use them towards the charges made. When this was done he was informed that he would only be able to redeem .50 per point instead of the 1.00 per point that he was told he would get.
He called back and another customer service rep told him that he could, in fact, redeem 1.00 per point and that it would be taken care of.
He called back to check his balance and was told that he would only be getting .50 per point for the redemption. I spoke to a supervisor and was told that the hotels had to be booked thought Capital One travel to get the 1.00 per point. This was never told to us and if we had known, we would have done so. I could have used anther card for the reservations and gotten a better deal. I asked the supervisor if she could give us credit for 1.00 per point and she said she could not.
We are very disappointed since we were told TWICE that we could redeem the full value of our points if we used the card for hotels or air fare.
We are asking if this can be reviewed and if we can be given the 1.00 per point redemption.
Please have someone contact us to see what can be done
Sincerely
Lynne Blaine
Desired outcome: We would like to be able to redeem the full value of our points.
Venture Card rewards points
After years of saving up points, I booked a trip and was ready to use my points for a part of the expenses. Called in and spoke to a nice lady. She said I would need to tell her which charges I wanted to apply the points against. I did so. Then she told me that the point credit couldn't be used to make the payment and I would still have to pay for the trip and then later Capital One would use the reward points to give me a credit for the trip I had already paid for. I asked her how I could get a credit for something I had already paid for. She said it would be applied against future payments. So you can't claim the points against a payment but they go against a payment or payments in the future. Huh? This is a scam. It is just a way to hold onto the money even longer. Deeply disappointed that Capital One is playing these types of games. Really wouldn't think that would be necessary.
Desired outcome: I would like the reward credit applied against the charges I identified. As it is, I get some future credit to be used against FUTURE payments. Not the one I identified.
Quicksilver credit card
On April 20th 2023 we were looking to book a hotel room. When doing so we found a rate that was acceptable but when progressing to the next page there was an absorbent amount of fees added. At that moment Capital One sent a text message telling us to proceed with this transaction, we need to enter a passcode, which they provided. We elected not to book this Hotel so we did not enter the code. We then booked elsewhere.
That was a Thursday, come Monday 4/24/2023 I looked at my statement and saw the charge had gone through. I called the Hotel and told them we did not authorize the transaction. They told us that this was a nonrefundable reservation and were not willing to deal with us at all. We cancelled the reservation as we did not authorize and intended to dispute with Capital One.
We sent Capital One all the evidence they requested, including the unauthorized reservation confirmation, cancellation, and the text message from Capital One instructing us to input required passcode to complete the transaction.
Capital One will not credit the charge unless we provide documents showing the Hotel agreeing to refund us the money. I have spent hours on the phone with them arguing that we never authorized the transaction as we did not enter the passcode generated by Capital One. Capital One simply talked in circles stating that the documents I sent showed that I was aware of the transaction. Well of course I am aware of the transaction I saw it on my statement 4/24 when I called to dispute it.
Capital One even stated that there were other customers calling with the same issue of having their card charged without the required passcode being entered. However, they were insistent that I was "aware" of the charge. I never authorized it; I didn't enter their required passcode, so I am stuck having to pay for something I never used.
Horribel experience with Capital One, I have paid the balance and locked the card and will not use it in the future.
Desired outcome: Credit for unauthorized charge
Restricted my account
Capital one restricted my account for NO REASON this morning, 5/21/2023. I set up a joint account for me and my fiancé, and capital one decided to remove access to all of my accounts for the day. And because their customer service sucks, now I have to try an figure out to survive the day and miss bill payments that are due today. Will capital one reimburse me, doubtful! This is unacceptable. I did NOTHING to have my account restricted.
Desired outcome: I wish to have my account restored immediately. I wish for reimbursement after I show the miss bill payment caused by capital one!
Representative payee checking and savings account
I have two payee accounts which I have had for over 11 years with Capital One. During the years I have transferred money between the two accounts as needed. I can no longer use these two accounts as I have in the past because someone has changed the savings account to a custodial account. I have tried numerous times to transfer money from the savings account to the checking account to cover charges that need to be paid.
Today at 5:30 EST I asked to speak with your Account Supervisor, Chris, ID #536643 concerning this problem. He was not sympathetic in the slightest to my problem. Needless to say I was very disappointed in his failure to help me and I was quite upset.
My only option at this point appears to be taking this money elsewhere. But, this option will require added time for me to open other accounts with another bank and get the Social Security deposit changed to another account. This will also require the inconvenience of changing the information with social security data base reports that I must file yearly and have just filed for 2023. In addition I will have the expense of ordering new checks and getting a new debit card.
Please advise me of what you can do timely to help me.
Credit card and capital walmart
My beloved mother passed on April 6th, 2023, I was devastated. Through my griefs I took the time to do a right thing and called Capital Bank and Walmart to cancel her card due to her death. They now just sent me an invoice seeking payment, naming me an estate, when I specifically told them that there was no estate or responsible. THEY ARE VOULTURES that come feeding after the death. And NO do not contact me, the lady is dead. I myself I have a card with Walmart, I will make sure I get rid of that before they come show their other set of VAMPIRE skills and come sucking my left ones blood. And do not apologize either and if you guys persist, I will have to legally get a lawyer myself for the stress being inflicted upon me.
Desired outcome: LEAVE ME ALONE. I DID NOT DO THE DEBTS. SEND THE BILL TO HEAVEN. BLOOD SUCKING VAMPIRES.
Capital on travel
Hello,
My name is Patricia. I used capital one travel to find a hotel in Jacksonville Florida. I used them bc I am a cancer patient at Mayo Clinic and I have treatments here and I must stay overnight for these treatments and being clean for the treatments are important due to my low immunity.
I thought by using capital one travel since I don’t know the area I would be smarter to get a decent hotel at a better rate. However, what I have learned is I booked a stay through my capital one card at the Homewood suites in Jacksonville and the total cost for me was 93$. Now this may not sound like a lot to you but for me being a single mom means a lot especially when I have to come here and stay overnight for treatments.
My issue is capital one travels uses “travel smarter every step of the way” but that is a lie! I booked this room but when I got there it is truly a nasty “crack house” the floor had dog food all over it, smelled like drugs, shower had hair, the tv was on and it was like someone just left that room. So why is it on capital one travel? That isn’t smarter. I spoke with capital one travel supervisor Daniel C and he has denied to return my money which puts me in a bind to find a new place where I can sleep, and then have surgery tomorrow. What kind of courtesy is this for your customers. I don’t know if you can help by refunding my money like a decent human being would do, maybe not, but I will be telling my story to every person I run across regarding the travel piece for capital one. You all make millions of dollars from people like me and you all have set me up to fail and then steal my money🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
Sent from my iPhone
Desired outcome: Refund my money
26 day hold on payment
Greetings,
I need all funds paid to BOTH of my CapitalOne cards released ASAP! Both card show over payment and it is beyond logic why there is a 26 day hold. I spent over 1 hour speaking with customer service AND fraud department, both state it is a system issue and there is nothing they can do. I am currently in Fiji and need to use my cards. If I knew there would be a hold, I wouldn't have made the payments.
On May 2 + 3, 2023, Bank of America confirmed all payments (over $1500) were released to Capital One - 9 days ago. Below are the credits showing for each account, yet no available credit. I can be reached on my cell 1.404.660.5281. Thanks for your attention.
Kunmi
Desired outcome: Post payments made to accounts on May 2 and 3 so I have available credit to use.
Lack of knowledge from customer service
I called to remove an authorized user from my account and was told it needs to be handled through a dispute. Nobody could tell me what was being disputed, just told me that is how it is handled. Basically, nobody wanted to give me information, just had me on hold for 30 minutes each time I called, to tell me it's handled through dispute. And there is nobody to contact in that department for clarification.
Desired outcome: I would like someone to return my call regarding this matter and give me actual information. Not just the run around.
Customer service
In febuary a company I hired to make me a key to start my truck could not make the key. After 30 min rep left without a receipt or telling me anything else except he could not make key. Later that day with no approval from me he charged my debit card over $500! I filed a dispute, I sent ya'll an email with my side of the story. I also sent an email which I will send you that proved they did not make me that key they were hired to make. I proved I had to tow my truck to three repair shops to finally get the dealer to make a key that the company in dispute admitted they could not make but still charged my debit card over $500. So if company in dispute had made the key I would not have had to tow truck to three other repair shops. Email I sent had all three repair shops info, including name, adress and contact person. Your customer service sidded with company that illegally charged my debit card $500. I stayed in contact with customer service but I feel I did not get a fair deal.
Desired outcome: reverse the charges concerning Dispute # 230217CLO1133
All I want is what is fair and honest. Company I hired could not produce key they were hired to make. I proved that by sending you info on the three repair shops I had to tow my truck to until I was able to get the key. Company in dispute did not have the ok to use my debit card because they could not provide key I hired them to make,, It is that easy. NO KEY, NO RECEIPT, NO SIGNATURE FROM ME. I HAVE CALLED THEM 8 WITH NO ANSWER. ACCORDING TO THE BBB THEY CLOSED THEIR DOORS IN 2019?
Unable to use my card(s)
I tried to pay with both my Quicksilver and Savor card to book a flight. Each time, you sent me a code to enter - no problem. The problem is, American Airlines couldn’t process my reservation and we lost one of the flights we were trying to book! I understand fraud alerts, but, y’all need to get something done - I lost a lot of rebate money and had to use my AMEX!
Desired outcome: Just do better next time. SO AGGRAVATING to try and use two different Capital One cards and NOTHING!
Credit card interest rates
I'm no longer working and I fell behind in my credit card and loan payments. I contacted all my creditors and everyone has agreed to lower my interest rate except CapitalOne. I have been a faithful customer for years... SHAME ON YOU CAPITAL ONE! I borrowed money from my son to bring my account current ($1429) now my monthly payment is $100 more a month than it was before I fell behind and they still refuse to lower my interest rate. Interest rates, food, gas, utility bills are all on the rise, Capital One you can do better!
Desired outcome: Lower interest rates for customers who are struggling for a short period of time.
Excessive late credit card fees
I pay all Capital One card statements over due amount l ahead of due date. I just paid statement and Capital One misapplied according to my issuing bank. I was then charged late fees and interest over $230.00. My payment record is great but Capital One agents refused to waive charges but gave me a $50.00 credit. I will never use Capital One again and will file a notice on all social medias. Michael Sparkman
Desired outcome: Waive all charges due to mishandling of payment.
Car title
I paid my 2013 Nissan Juke off on December 23,2022. Today is April 21, 2023 and have yet to receive my car title. I have made several phone calls to Capital One Auto Finance. I have spoken to Charlie, Joey, Albert, and one other person didn't get his name. I told each one of them my address is missing unit A and everything else is correct. Every time I would call about my car title my address was never corrected in their system. This is ridiculous and unprofessional. I just want what I paid for. This is not a unreasonable request. It's simple. I have paid off several cars and never had this problem getting my title, but they weren't Finance with Capital One Auto Finance either.
Desired outcome: To receive my car title.
BJs Capitol One credit card
BJ's switched credit card companies in March 2023 to Capitol One. The first problem I had after activating the new card was that it was rejected at BJs gas station. The helpful BJs employee explained that many people were having the same problem and to use another credit card.
The next problem was a new interest charge on the April 2023 statement. I had automatic payment of the full amount in effect so I knew this had to be a mistake and contacted customer service. After discussing the problem with three different agents who all agreed it was a mistake, they said I had to pay the interest charge and the I would get a credit the following month. I ended up so mad I just cancelled the card. What a circus of clowns. I will never do any business with this company again.
Desired outcome: Remove the interest charge from the current statement
BJs Mastercard
I have tried repeatedly to register my BJs card for online banking. Today I spoke to a very helpful young lady who discovered that the problem was caused by you misspelling my surname on the BJs card. She then asked for my phone number to verify my account. I gave her the number, and she confirmed that it was the right one, and then told me that she was unable to verify my account that way. Then she sent a link for me to upload a picture of my Driver's License. Four successive pictures proved inadequate (God alone knows why), so I offered to send a picture of my passport and was told that a passport was "not sufficient" to prove my ID. WTF is wrong with you people? A US Passport is "not sufficient" to prove my ID?
This was on April 12 at around 14.55.
Desired outcome: Correct the misspelling of surname on the BJ's card, link it to my online account, fix your ID system so that your customers don't have to take multiple pictures to verify ID, and figure out that a US Passport is a valid ID
Customer service
I called to discuss the late charge, and I was told there’s no way it could be forgiven. The payment was made on time as I told them many times they would not take further action at this time I use someone else’s bank account, which was my mother and I know exactly when I was with her and it was definitely not at 8:55 PM. I couldn’t have used her bank account at that time because I would’ve known the number I want the late fee forgiven in my account back on track like it was.
Desired outcome: Forgive late fee
Purchase Taylor Swift tickets
I was unable to get to purchase TS tickets back in Nov, just like many. Understandable, system issues, problems, bots, whatever, however, I have been trying to purchase tickets with Capital One as well as directly with Ticketmaster ever since. I have been unable to do so, what is the issue? There appear to be tickets available, I have been a Capital One cardholder for years, as well as, have purchased tickets from Ticketmaster and been an account holder with them for years, I am not a bot, please check my accounts. I do not want to purchase these tickets on other ticket sites where the prices have been drastically increased in price (should be illegal the amounts they are charging). Can you assist me? I would like to purchase 2 tickets (1 for myself and 1 for my 72 year old mother-Bernadette Lege and Nancy Goral) Tickets for Saturday April 15, 2023 in Tampa at the Raymond James stadium to see Taylor Swift at 6:30pm. Please advise as soon as possible. This process has been very stressful and the far from customer friendly, months of effort and now down to the wire. Please assist.
Desired outcome: Ability to purchase 2 Taylor Swift tickets with Capital One partnered with Ticketmaster for Saturday April 15, 2023 at Raymond James Stadium 6:30pm.

To Whom it may concern:
I follow Robin Roberts, Anchor Good Morning America, and received an email indicating she was leaving GMA at the end of the year because of a new business she started with her partner. On 12/26/2022, I clicked on the link, read all about the product, then decided to place an order.
• 12/26/2022 – Received email invoice
• 12/28/2022 – Received email indicating a label has been created for the shipment
• 12/28/2022 – Attempt to track shipment – not showing in system (continued to track daily through 1/11/2023
• 1/11/2023 – Discovered Robin Roberts is still the anchor on Good Morning America and researched the company online – found that there is 61% chance this is a scam
• 1/11/2023 – Called CapitalOne to submit dispute – temp credit issued on account
• 1/14/2023 – USPS tracking shows shipment was delivered, however it was not until 1/22/2023 that I discovered the shipment on the porch behind a plant when I opened the door to retrieve another shipment that was delivered (I have RING, and USPS should have rang the doorbell when delivering the shipment.
• 1/22/2023 – Called merchant to request return process for shipment. Merchant refused to provide information. Said there is no return process. I ended the call and then sent the merchant an email to request return process information – no response.
• 1/22/2023 – Called CapitalOne, spoke with Julius – told him I wanted to provide update on the dispute. Explained that I called the merchant to request the process to return the shipment and the merchant refused. Julius explained there was no update on the dispute but would add my information to the claim.
• 2/5/2023 – CapitalOne sent an email indicating the claim was being closed and the credit was being reversed.
• 2/6/2023 – Called CapitalOne to question email and first spoke with a gentleman that read the script very well. Any and every question I asked, he responded with the same script and said a letter was mailed out to me on 2/2/2023. I did get him to acknowledge my phone call to CapitalOne on 1/22/2023. However, I did not feel he was directly answering my questions and asked to speak with a supervisor. I do not remember her name, but the difference between my conversation with her and the conversation with the first gentleman was the fact that she provided additional details outside of the script. In other words, she explained that I needed to review the 2/2/2023 letter for additional information on next steps and that I would be required to provide a signed response for further consideration on the claim.
• 2/7/2023 – this letter to CapitalOne in response to the 2/3/2023 letter received. Please note – neither agent I spoke with on 2/22/2023 explained to me that I could find the letter online, via my CapitalOne account. This letter includes the following:
A – 12/26/2022 – Original receipt for the order
B – 12/27/2022 – Email from merchant indicating order shipped
C – 12/28/2022 = Email from merchant/USPS indicating shipping label created – please note, no additional tracking data in USPS system until 1/12/2023.
D – 1/22/2023 – Email sent to request return process info – no response
E – Final tracking data from USPS showing package delivered on 1/14/2023
In summary and closing, the final attachment ‘F’ is a picture of the unopened bottles. Please advise if you have any additional questions.
Thanks for your assistance.

Not sure of the original date the case was opened.
Today, I received return mail that was originally sent to CapitolOne on 2/7/2023 to support the dispute.
Attached is a copy of the return mail envelope and the contents of the envelope.
Please review – re-open the case and advise if you need any additional information.
Note: The items purchased are still sitting on dining room table, unused – ready to return.

RE: Case Number: [protected]
To Whom it may concern:
Today I received the letter from CapitolOne indicating too much time has elapsed in order to pursue this claim further. I called CapitolOne and explained that on March 15, I was provided a link to send additional documentation. If a link had been provided on Feb 7th, the process would have saved 3 weeks, as I mailed the documentation, and the mail was returned (see scanned document for return mail). This agent said that there was nothing else that could be done.
I asked to speak with a Supervisor and she connected me with Ms. Kim or Nicki. Nicki sued my documentation to location the contact phone number for the merchant. Called merchant. The merchant showed record of my phone call in January 2023. However, did not provide any additional details – When I called in January, I requested information to return the product; however, merchant disconnected. I also sent an email (which copy is in the scan attachment) however, there was no response to the email. Merchant then indicated that it was past the 30 days for me to return the product. Please note, I initiated this process with the merchant within 30 days of the product being ordered.
Ms. or Nicki then advised me to resend the information for review and include this letter to explain.
In closing, I ordered from a site promoting this as a Robin Roberts, GMA sponsored product and that she was quitting her job in order to pursue this for the new year. Robin Roberts is still at GMA – this is fraud.
Note: The items purchased are still sitting on dining room table, unused – ready to return.
Thanks for your assistance.

Desired outcome: Credit to my account - I can still return product - it is sitting on the dining room table.
